We stayed in the apartment in January 2024, in building 5. Two warm pools, helpful staff, a quiet place in the Indian area. The room had everything: stove, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, etc., so we had breakfast when we wanted and what we wanted. 15 minutes walk to the metro. Taxi to the airport 35 dirhams. To the beach LA mer 30 dirhams, although you can get it for free on the Shuttle. Ice is poured without restrictions into a special thermos in the dining room. We'll come here again The only negative is the dishes for two people in the room and the stubborn disregard for providing additional forks and cups for children.

The Golden Sands Apartment 3 in Bur Dubai is a very clean hotel. There were a lot of problems when entering the room. The bedside lamp couldn't be turned off, when you were showering the water kept running into the very small bathroom, it was slippery and you had to be very careful not to slip. The air conditioning was very loud and later the water from the air conditioning ran into the room. It took me 3 days until the room was really habitable. I kept reporting other problems to reception, who then immediately made sure that the problems were corrected. The staff are very friendly and it is a very clean hotel. The room has a large refrigerator, no freezer, microwave, washing machine, stove and dishes. Unfortunately a bottle of water is only provided on the first day, after that you have to buy water in the supermarket, also not a good service for older people. The breakfast buffet is sufficient, coffee very bad, they should rather have a coffee machine. There are two pools in the hotel, but the one in building 5 is the nicest. Unfortunately, the location is not that convenient, for older people it is difficult to find the way to the metro and also a bit far away.

I stayed at Golden Sands 3 with my mum and brother in early November for 6 nights. When we arrived, we were told we had to pay 100 dirhams each as a deposit, this was ok however they said they wouldn't return the money until checkout, which means we now have 300 dirhams each which we couldn't spend as we were leaving. I would recommend the hotel either accepts foreign money or they offer to return the deposit slightly earlier than checkout.
The room itself was ok, the bathrooms are slightly cramped and the toilet, bidet and sink are in a tightly packed area which was just bearable.
The service was very slow, I called reception many times and it took a few calls for someone to answer.
The location is ideal and a good in between for Sharaf DG metro stop and Burjuman metro stop. There are plenty of places to eat around the apartment within walking distance and it is safe to walk around late at night.
The hotel does offer a beach shuttle to La Mer Beach but you can either go from 10am to 3pm or 11am till 4pm. We asked to be booked at 11am and waited in reception from 10.50am for the shuttle to arrive. When it turned 11am, I asked the receptionist where the shuttle was and she said that we should be waiting in the front of GS 5. This was not mentioned to us at booking stage or when we waited in reception.
We rushed over to number 5 and were told we were too late and the shuttle has gone. After telling them what happened, they kindly called the driver back and he took us to the beach.
The rest of the stay was ok, we mainly just slept at the hotel and didn't use any of the facilities offered.
The gentleman who checked us out was very helpful and called us a taxi to the airport, which was really nice.

I lived in Golden Sands 5 for almost a year, and my experience can be summarized as follows:
Location – Conveniently located within a 20-minute walk from ADCB/BurJuman metro stations and close to supermarkets, transport hubs, and malls. 5/5
Facilities – The building offers a gym, swimming pools, and a restaurant, but lacks a business center, making it difficult to work on a PC for business-related tasks. The lobby area is not an option due to constant noise. 4/5
Breakfast – Standard selection, but you often have to request refills for food items. 3/5
Rooms – Spacious with a kitchen, washing machine, and balcony, making it ideal for long-term stays. However, issues include:
- Forced relocation to another room midway through my stay due to floor renovations—without prior notice or proper explanation. - Housekeeping staff are hardworking, but their managers send messages at inappropriate times (e.g., Friday evenings) questioning your shampoo and soap usage. You must ask for proper cleaning and basic hygiene items despite paying AED 8,000+ initially, then AED 6,102 for a long-term rate. - Sometimes old bed sheets with stains, dusty furniture, and frequent AC leaks in the bathroom (monthly issue). Also faced hot water boiler repairs. 3/5
Service & Pricing Issues – If you're working in Dubai and staying long-term, expect monthly rate-related stress: - Hidden price increases – No advance notice about a 3,000+ AED hike; you’ll find out at the reception when it's time to extend. - Lack of transparency – Front office supervisors and sales managers refuse to disclose reasons for price increases, provide proof, or share senior management contacts. You’ll end up running between buildings like a fool, only to be told to "wait for an email." - Sudden price hike – Without prior notice, my rate was raised from AED 6,102 to 9,000—a 1.5x increase overnight. 2/5

The staff are so friendly and helpful, all polite and nothing is too much trouble, Rooms are cleaned to a high standard and the cleaning staff always friendly, The pool staff always take time to have a conversation , and are always welcoming. Staying at Golden Sands 5 / Goldensands 3 apartments , For many years my Husband and I have always enjoyed staying here, in fact we would not go anywhere else. unfortunately this time with the loss of my husband, I made a solo trip, The staff kindness and sympathy shown to my self was very moving and genuine . Coming to Golden Sands is like a 2nd home with a wonderful Family atmosphere. and very central to all amenities, especially for a female traveler. I do hope to return again, because Golden Sands welcoming staff attitude deserves a 10 star rating.

Golden Sands Hotel Apartments 5 - Very clean room and everyday cleaning including towels and toiletries. Beds is very comfortable and wide. Very handy: Washing machine in the room! A good location only 15 minute walk from the metro but also supporting staff will find you taxi ride in a minute. Breakfast enough choices, and replenished all the time. Also good services where we were able to borrow swimming pool towels to use on the beach! Only thing I would mention is that the walls are thin and you can hear a lot from outside in the corridors. This was an issue with other guests allowing their children to run around during the early morning which made sleeping past 7:30-8am every morning an issue. I’m sure this doesn’t happen all the time otherwise we have nothing to fault during our stay.

I stayed at Golden Sands 5 from 11 to 27 August 2021 and it was very bad. my room 514 was very dirty, the cleaner does not use cleaning detergent to clean the bath and toilet, rather he sprays glass cleaner on every surface and wipes with a towel and he is done. the cleaner said he has to clean 22 rooms a day.
Objective there is quantity of rooms to clean and not quality or how clean the room gets. The fridge in the room was very dirty, I have a video of it, unfortunately I can't upload it.
Also for my long stay I was forced to deposit 500AED which I was assured it will be refunded if after my stay nothing gets broken in the furnished apartment. Time to check out, and the receptionists were more interested in getting me a taxi than talking about refunding my deposit.
I was told a maintenance staff will check my room after his report then my money will be refunded. I had to insist the checks be done in my presence, after a long agreement they agreed. I thought the will check if the pates, glasses, etc were all in there but no, to my surprise, the guy checked if the fridge, TV, microwave, washing machine and stove was working, I asked why, if any of them didn't work at the time of my check out I had to pay for it with the deposit of 500AED.
Why should a guest at a hotel be responsible for such things? they did everything possible to keep the deposit and I also did everything possible to get my money back. in the end I got my money back. I won't recommend such treatment from a hotel to anybody. I paid for my booking online and I was told its nonrefundable. for such a long stay, it was pure torture. They almost ruined my vacation but the tourist activities were so great they didn't succeed in doing that. everything about this hotel is a no no to me, even the food at the restaurant ...
***The manager ( a lady) and the housekeeping supervisor are aware of my complaints as they were both in my room when I showed them the dirty fridge.

Very Bad Experience!!! Customer service is Bad!! Booked with them a studio room via email which they agreed and told me to just pay at the property once we reach there they took our details and charge my husband Card for the stay, after charging they told us there was NO ROOM available!! and that they have to void the payment now our card is international card because of that we have to pay conversion charge when its not our fault, and they just told me I am considered walk in guest and that room was subject to availability, I was never informed about it on email!! and why would you charge our card when there was no room in the first place!? the conversion charge they did not refund us, no apollogies, Nothing. Now we have to leave and find a room in the night, Very poor customer service !! Not well trained! Next time dont charge your guest if you dont have Room available in the first place!!

Stayed at the Golden Sands Apartment Hotel in Dubai. This is located at Bur Dubai. Bur Dubai is a known expat locality especially Indians. The rooms are clean and well maintained. Prices are slightly above average. You can get a good deal if you book in advance. I paid close to INR 25000 for a week's stay. There are 14 Golden Sands properties in an area covering about 5 blocks. All of them are hotel apartments. Each room comes with a fully equipped kitchen - Induction stove, microwave, refridgerator and electric kettle. The room also has a washing machine and enough closet space for 2 people. The washrooms are clean. The room is cleaned thoroughly daily by the housekeeping staff. The room has a large queen sized bed with a pull out bed and and extra sofa with a centre table. It also has a dining table cum workstation. The room comes with a TV with a lot of Hindi / Arabic channels, a massive mirror and a centralised AC. Food options are limited and pretty steep. (AED 50 for a breakfast for one, AED 120 for lunch / dinner). Having said that, the hotel allows food from outside. I used the Talabat app to order food and got pretty good deals. (Dinner for 2 costed AED 30!)
The best part is that the lifts operate only if you have a key card. The hotel also has a business centre (2 desktops in an isolated room). It also has a fully functional gym accessible 24/7. There is a swimming pool as well (Shared between Golden Sands 3 and 5). The properties are suited for business travellers, couples, solo travellers and families as well. The Karama Market and Burjuman mall are close by. This property is about 15 mins away from Dubai International Airport (DXB) and about an hour from DWC. Attractions close by are The Dubai Museum, Karama Market, Meena Bazaar, Burjuman mall, Dubai Frame (10 mins) and the Dubai Dolphinarium (20 mins by cab).

My friend and I stayed for 5 nights recently during our stay we had no hot water for our shower, our bathroom ceiling leaked had to call maintenance staff multiple times, chase housekeeping for more than one towel. The WiFi is rubbish and when we arrived at 3 45am our reservation had been cancelled so we were forced to take a suite the only available option for my friend and I to share a bed. Disgraceful basic requirements you expect from any hotel were lacking. As a single parent my friend and I rarely get the opportunity to travel without children and were both in need of a relaxing break as we both work full time. The hotel failed to satisfy our requirements and when we complained and demanded they compensate us for the inconvenience no update was received.
