One & Only Royal Mirage is one of the nicest resorts we have stayed at. The grounds at this hotel are beautiful.

Bell Boys
The men at the door were extremely nice and helpful. They arranged taxis for us and we were able to wait in the air conditioning until they arrived.

Front Desk
The individual who checked us in was very attentive. He helped sort out reservations to restaurants and check the status of everything we had included in our stay. Few places the staff remember your names through out the trip, but the individual on the desk greeted us warmly by name each time.

Cleaners
The hotel was spotless inside and the cleaners were the most attentive we have ever had. Each day our fruit bowl was refilled, lots of water was placed in the room and fresh flowers were exchanged in the room every couple of days. Our clothes were nicely folded, the bed was properly made and the bathroom cleaned and restocked. One day we came back to the room early and the cleaner profusely apologised for still being there and left. Shortly after he returned and insisted he finished off cleaning the floor as he remembered there was still an area to do. We thanked him but said it was not necessary ... we hadn't even noticed it was missed.

Room
The room was nice. They could do with a little bit of an update, but it wasn't shabby inside. Size wise, the bedroom and bathroom were large. The room was quiet and the view was okay (music was a bit loud outside at times. But always quietened before we were going to sleep). The only real negative to it was we were in one of the furthest rooms from the lobby and it was a bit of a maze walking to and from it. Too much time was wasted just going to and from the room. If we stay again, I would like a room closer to the main areas.

Pools
The main pool and the adult pool were lovely. It was still very hot while we stayed and they made sure there were plenty of seats in the shade. A cooler full of water was brought out and fruit skewers were handed out around the pool. I liked how they had a gentleman go around cleaning sunglasses. We had lunch at the restaurant by the main pool and the food was okay. It was nice, but not amazing and over priced. At this particular restaurant it cost £7 for a tiny can of pepsi. Meanwhile, at the Mall of Emirates, I was able to purchase a bottle of Coke for less than what I would pay in the UK. So One and Only definitely places a huge premium on the products.

Tagine
I really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere in here. The staff were nice and attentive. They explained all the food well. We had some younger men serving us and they we said how much we enjoyed the mint tea and he explained all about how it is traditionally made, it was really interesting!

Olives
The food choice here was excellent. The breakfast buffet had everything you could think of. The evening meals were good here too. It was very quiet on a night. My only negative about here was there was one waiter who would take plates away before they were finished with. That same waiter also gave us a different drink to what we asked for so we queried it and said we got what we asked for which we didn't. We were then charged for this drink which was also more expensive and he didn't try to remedy his error ... poor service from this individual for it being a 5 star resort

Eauzone
Eauzone needed some improvement. It has just reopened and the staff were a bit unprofessional. Cutlery was missing and the order was brought out wrong. We felt the quality of food wasn't as good in this restaurants compared to the others we ate in.

Spa
The spa itself is extremely nice. They have a little plunge pool on the ground floor and saunas and steam rooms. We opted for the hot stone massages, I thoroughly enjoyed mine. My mum came out though saying the stones they used seemed too hot on her. When we got to the room, I looked at her back and she actually had burn marks near her shoulder blades from the stones. Surely the masseuse should have told my Mum that she accidentally burnt her?! Very annoying that I paid for the service right after the treatment to then see that is how they treated my Mum. I think the masseuse wasn't paying enough attention. I don't think I would choose a hot stone massage again at the spa as I wouldn't want to risk that happening again.

Response from OneandOnly Royal Mirage Management, Owner at One&Only Royal Mirage
Responded Jan 28, 2023
Dear Guest, It was a great pleasure welcoming you to One&Only Royal Mirage. Thank you so much for sharing your recent experience at The Palace, we are delighted to read that you enjoyed the facilities and services of our resort. Indeed, our guest rooms being at The Palace are spread across and the room allocated offers spectacular views to the garden and Arabian Sea. Nonetheless, for your future stay, you can contact us in advance to ensure that the room closer to the lobby is allocated. It is gratifying to know that globally our restaurants across the Resort achieved to provide you with excellent service and everlasting memories during your stay with us, especially Tagine. We do however regret to read your feedback related to Olives and Eauzone service, we can assure you that such has been discussed with respective management for immediate corrective action. I take note of the challenges with your Spa experience and certainly regret the shortcomings experienced on this occasion. We consistently strive to improve the quality of our product and services and will review your feedback in detail with my team to ensure we improve accordingly. Furthermore, it is indeed our endeavour to ensure that our guests are looked after and we care dearly for their comfort at all times. We consider it one for the main criterias that our team has personal warmth and a caring attitude, before skills in order to portray the service you experienced. We also truly believe that it is comments such as yours that make a difference to our staff and our hotel, and that when guest comments are passed onto staff, they not only feel appreciated, but it also serves as a tremendous encouragement and motivates them to always give their best. Your applauding comment will definitely be communicated our team, whom I am sure will all be very pleased. Once again, thank you for your patronage and we sincerely look forward to welcoming you back in a not too distant future. Best regards, Management Team One&Only Royal Mirage, Dubai

This was my second time at the OO Royal Mirage and the first time with my fiancee. When you decide to go back to a resort after talking about it for 12months you can only hope it is as good as you remembered! It surpassed my expectations and blew my fiancee away. From the moment we arrived, the service was amazing.

After a long flight they check you in at the lounge of reception, you're offered refreshments and the receptionist runs you through what is included in your stay. They even noted that I had stayed before and on arrival welcomed me back. We were celebrating my partners birthday and the Mr Sharma, the Resident Manager, kindly upgraded our room, which was amazing, they also had a gorgeous chocolate and macaroon plate set up in our room.

We were half board which allowed us to dine around the restaurants in the O&O complex, the Arabian Court was closing 2 days after our arrival and they extended our HB to include the restaurant at the O&O The Palm. We tried all the restaurants and the only one which we didn't particularly rate was the Moroccan restaurant, but that was down to the set menu options as opposed to the quality of the food or staff.

We also chose to go to the Drift Beach Club on his actual birthday and again, that was a top class day, the DJ was excellent.

The level of service at the O&O resorts are unparalleled, every time you leave the resort and return, the staff welcome you back by your name, the attention to detail is on another level. There's newspapers at your door in the morning, after your room is cleaned you get a refreshed bowl of fruit and the turn down service includes fresh bottles of water every evening. The team that bring you towels and water at the pool & beach are lovely & really friendly, on one of the days they even reserved our spot at the pool for us.

The location is perfect, at the foot of the palm it's within a short taxi journey to anywhere you want to go.

I can not recommend this hotel enough, so much so, that we are starting our honeymoon with a stopover in Dubai at the O&O Royal Mirage, The Palace.

My family have been staying at The Palace, Royal Mirage for several years, although due to family circumstances it has been 3 years since our last visit.
The Hotel never ceases to give a sense of arrival when you first draw up to the entrance, with the opulent statues outside the reception area. The reception itself is huge and splendorous, with staff to help your check-in as smoothly as possible. Xiola looked after our check in and departure and was fantastic.
The standard rooms would be considered "super luxury" at any other Hotel, and were spacious and tasteful, with fresh fruit and copious free water every day. Our housekeeper (Moonis) was fastidiously efficient and friendly.
We were fortunate with the weather which was a lovely 26 -30 degrees C every day of our 7 night stay.
The swimming pool and Beach bar are the rival of anything else in Dubai, and if you want a more trendy and livelier 'vibe' then there is the Drift beach club at the end of the beach, also owned and part of the One and Only Hotel.
Dining is fabulous as there are 7 or 8 different dining options so you can eat somewhere different every night if staying half board, and all are very different dining experiences.
I cannot fault this Hotel in any way, and I guess if I was being really critical I would say that the only shame was that the restaurants this year were nowhere near as busy this year as in previous years, I guess down to the increased competition as there has been SO much new development in the 3 years since we last visited, especially on the Palm where there seem to be dozens of new Hotels.
The view from the beach used to be of the Ocean, but there are now 4 new accommodation towers (Hotels or apartments I guess) being built on a brand new island only a few hundred yards off shore in front of the hotel, which rather spoil the view, although they are far closer to the One & Only on the Palm which is not great for residents staying there.
Overall, I would recommend this to anyone except the reality stars as they would be better staying elsewhere rather than spoiling this hotel for the more discerning !

So we've stayed at the one and only residence and spa twice now and I will forever stay here when I visit dubai next. The one and only have 3 resorts but if you want the best service, quietness, best spa and amazing food make sure you book the residence and spa.

It's literally pin drop silence by the pool probably because children under 13yrs aren't allowed in hotel, it's never a case of fighting for a sun bed, they're always available and in fact the staff always ask us at the end of the night if they should reserve the same beds for the next day. You get fruit and fresh sorbet given to you by the pool and even someone coming around to clean your sunglasses and offer you a cold face towel. The pool side toilets get cleaned after they've been used by one person which is amazing!

The breakfast isn't buffet, it's fresh sit down breakfast and it gives you an amazing start to the day, the afternoon tea in their cute library is honestly amazing, I always looked forward to this time of the day. Dinner as well is impeccable, the chef will always come out and ask if the food was up to your standard, which is just a nice touch!

The rooms are amazing, the perfect size and best of all a buggy will come and pick you up from your room both morning and evening!

The spa has the best ham treatment l've ever experienced.

The overall customer service was more than we could've asked for, my dad missed breakfast one morning and we got asked "where is Mr Virdi, is he well", in which we replied "he's just hungover" and they sent him a get well card, fruit and flowers to his room!!! how amazing! As its a boutique hotel all the staff members pretty much know you and your needs after 2 days!

HIGHLY recommend!

Had a relaxing 3 nights at the Residence - the smallest and most private of the 3 hotels which occupy the site. We were greeted very warmly on arrival. Checkin was quick and easy and our room was ready on time. The property is 20 years old but so well maintained that it looks new, the décor and ambience feel like an English stately home. The grounds are beautiful day and night.

Thank you Nidhesh for making us feel specially welcome and to Rahul and Hicham for taking time out to meet us.

The prestige bedroom was spacious with a grand bathroom, large shower cubicle incorporating a marble bench to sit on; a balcony with privacy and a lovely view. The bed was very comfortable, no backaches! The bed linen, towels & bath amenities were all top notch. The hairdryer was the best my wife has used in a hotel. Our room was sanitised while we were out – thank you housekeeping – never had to call and complain about anything.

We mostly ate at the Dining Room, in the Residence. The menu is limited but offered enough choice for a short stay and requests were welcome. After an initial hiccup, swiftly fixed by Ivan, our dining experience got better and better. The service, crockery, cutlery, table linen, cleanliness and food presentation plus the décor of the Dining Room is lovely to experience. A special thanks to Erwin and Sujeet for taking the trouble to learn our preferences and to Ivan and Stanly for looking after us.

We ate at Eauzone once – disappointing and posted a separate review.

Following the disappointment of the cancellation of our "once in a lifetime" trip to One and Only Le Saint Geran in Mauritius due to Covid, we were desperate for some time away following a tough few months at work.
With the help of Zobia at Best at Travel we were able to transfer our booking the Residence and Spa. It was a great decision!
We had an amazing time at this beautiful resort, the staff were brilliant from the moment we arrived until we unfortunately had to leave. All of the team at the hotel were extremely helpful, from Senior Management to the restaurant staff in The Dining Room to the staff at the pool, we couldn't have been happier with the service and it would be unfair to single anyone out.
We had originally booked a Gold Club room in The Palace, however on arrival we were directed to The Residence & Spa. We were delighted to be upgraded to a Junior Suite whilst retaining all of our Gold Club privileges.
The hotel dealt extremely well with the current Covid restrictions, the room was sanitized and left vacant for at least 24 hours prior to our arrival so we felt very secure from that perspective.
The restaurant and the pool never felt crowded and again we never felt at any risk.
All in all, this was a great week. We had originally booked a five night stay, but we were so happy with everything that we extended for an extra night.
Thank you to everyone at The Residence for making us feel so welcome!

We enjoyed a wonderful and relaxing break at this glorious hotel that is architecturally sympathetic the Arabic surroundings. The hotel staff are brilliantly trained and maintain their composure even under the pressure of maximum capacity over the Christmas period.

Kevin from concierge was the most congenial and professional host and butler and our stay was made even more luxurious. He was a wealth of information and helped us navigate some potential minefields when it came to organising family outings.

I must also compliment the spa who only wanted to ensure that you left feeling relaxed and rejuvenated.

The rooms, although older than some other hotels in Dubai, were maintained fastidiously and the continuity of the housekeeping staff ensured that guests’ preferences were adhered to. It was made so comfortable. I was reluctant to leave - a first for me.

Unusually the Eau Zone (pool restaurant) managed to serve brilliant food and be ‘beachy’. I was so happy to lunch there daily and never grew tired of the menu. Again, the service was impeccable.

Dimitri was the most cordial hotel manager I have encountered and really cared if you were having a good time, always listening to and interested in feedback.

Initially I was worried about staying here because of the family friendly nature of the hotel - I was sure that the fact that I didn’t have younger children would make the whole experience unpalatable. I couldn’t have been more wrong. This hotel will suit all holidaymakers - whether with children or not.

I would 100% return here even after trying more expensive and newer hotels in this region. Stick with this. You can’t go wrong.

This hotel is up there with the very best that Dubai has to offer, from the minute you arrive the staff make you feel like part of one big family. The hotel grounds are exceptional as is the all-round cleanliness of the resort. With 1km of private beach it is easy to relax without other guests being in close proximity.
My wife is paraplegic but this makes no difference at all the bedrooms are immaculate and the staff will do there very best to ensure that all your requirements are attended to.
The restaurants are of the highest quality and again the staff are amazing.
A big thank you to so many special staff who made our stay unforgettable

Our first time to Dubai and this hotel, Dubai was fantastic, the hotel was amazing.
We upgraded to the Super Gold Room.
I can honestly find no fault with our room, the room was spotless, we went on a half board basis and ate at all the restaurants except for Tagine( ran out of nights)every restaurant was excellent, I particularly loved Celebrities and their tasting menu, it was amazing.
The pool area and beach is spotless , with staff constantly on hand filling you glass with water or taking your drink order.
I have to give a mention to Sreeni at the reception near the Gold Lounge, he was amazing and so helpful and a pleasure to talk to, a total asset to the company, as are all the staff, they were all so friendly and helpful.
I would recommend this hotel, and we cant wait for our next visit.

We stayed for 8 nights with the Gold Club extra. This was good in that you could have daily afternoon tea and alcoholic drinks with canapés between 6 and 8pm. The hotel is beautiful and so are the grounds. There are numerous restaurants on site and the half board option gives you an allowance to use at any of them. They are all very nicely decked out but the food was low standard. Olives is an Italian buffet with stodgy, flavourless pastas and risottos. There was little choice when we used it and the food looked like it had been sat there all evening. It is also a breakfast location but much of the food such as the ready prepared eggs Benedict was cold! Eauzone was the best of the restaurants with Asian inspired dishes along with Nia that is Indian. Tagine, a Moroccan inspired restaurant, served bland food whilst two disinterested men played music. We didn’t use Celebrities because they refused to accept the voucher offer they gave us as valued guests on arrival. The reason was that the main chef was there which they deem to be a ‘special event’. You put a lot for drinks which wouldn’t be so bad if the meals were any good. We ate at other hotels on a couple of occasions and had much better meals. We won’t be staying there again as a result

Dear Guest, It was a great pleasure welcoming you to One&Only Royal Mirage. Thank you so much for sharing your recent experience at The Palace, we are indeed delighted to read that you enjoyed the facilities of the resort. Certainly, the Gold Club is truly a great value for our discerning guests seeking for an exclusive environment. It is also an interesting venue offering complimentary afternoon teas, canapés and pre-dinner drinks. We are grateful to learn that you personally enjoyed your culinary experience at Eauzone and Nina, we shall ensure to share your kind words with our Executive Chef and Director of Food & Beverage. Whilst we strive to provide the best possible dining experience for all to enjoy, we shall share your personal observation regarding Olives and Tagine with our Executive Chef and Director of Food & Beverage so the standard we seek is achieved and further enhanced. We take good note of your comment regarding you not been able to use your voucher that you have received and indeed we apologize, as that evening the voucher was not applicable due to Chef Mauro hosting a special event. We hope that you will give us the opportunity of welcoming you back and restore your confidence and services in us. Once again, thank you for your patronage and we sincerely look forward to welcoming you back in a not too distant future. Best regards, Management Team One&Only Royal Mirage, Dubai

In my opinion, the rooms and decor is nicer in the Arabian Court. The pool is more family orientated, but be mindful that there is construction going on next door. The Palace is a tad dated, especially the rooms, but the pool area is bigger and it's away from the construction. Residence is lovely, but I think it is adults only,

Can anyone advise on what is included in the half board package? Can you use the other restaurants?

This reply might be too late but you have 2 buffet restaurants (Olives and Rotisserie) and then a la carte dine around menus at the Beach Bar and Grill, Eau Zone and Tagine.
