I have been staying at this property for business travel now for over 4-5 years and I thoroughly enjoy it! I keep coming back and will do so in the future!! I was here in March-April of this year (2021) for extended stay, due to business obligations. The Attentiveness and caring of the Staff is by far the #1 quality that Keeps me Coming Back! ALL of the staff go Above and Beyond to ensure my stay in Dubai is both comfortable, relaxing and worry free. The Staff does an Amazing job to keep things Outstanding in All Regards, even during these trying CV times, with several restrictions in force in Dubai. The property is very close and convenient to my work site and the airport. While I consider the Entire hotel staff Superb in All regards, I have to especially and specifically mention the following staff members for their cheerful and attentive manner and dedication to customer service: The Entire Concierge staff, to include all of the bellmen and individuals who call and arrange taxi and hotel car and van services. One notable staff member; Mrs Ruby Rose impressed me by ALWAYS bring cheerful and very Attentive and always greeted me with a smile, when I returned from work. An Outstanding staff member, and should be recognized for her efforts! In addition, hosts Miss Ayomi and Miss Arlene did an outstanding job during the evening meals. Also, Miss Gnei Zahara Gafoor, Supervisor of the daily breakfast buffet at the Yolumba restaurant especially , went out of her way, Everyday, to provide an outstanding breakfast. Was Always greeted by name in the morning at bkfst. She did an outstanding job and should be specifically recognized for her efforts! Outstanding Performer. Her staff of Mr Ighan and Mr Yohna where always on hand for coffee refills, preparing special fruit smoothies to go and to take orders, especially when I was in a hurry to get to work in the mornings. Also notable was Miss Babylyn and Nsingi for outstanding customer service. Cooks Mr Yohan, Mr Vindo and Mr Alwin always had sumptuous breakfast ready and waiting for me. They were all very attentive and courteous in answering all of my questions. In Addition, Miss Gina , also from Yolumba also provided exemplary, noteworthy customer service with a cheerful smile. I appreciated her attention to detail. I also wanted to recognize the following members of the front desk check-in/check-out team, Miss Amilyn and Miss Shelia; for answering my numerous questions and requests, Miss Michelle, Miss Irene, Mr Hamza, Miss Margie, Miss Christina and Kil, Mr Amishu, Mr Parthkumat, Miss Edna, Miss Lorie Miss Merelle, John and Supervisor Dannylyn. They answered All questions and accommodated all of schedule changes and stay extensions and ALWAYS greeted me by name. Housekeepers Mr Asanka, Mr Danay, Mr Julius and Ms Carolina and Senior Supervisor Rajesh always had my room in Prime condition, Everyday. Additional staff members that deserve recognition for always going Above and Beyond are: Miss Riawana; part of the LongLin restaurant staff for very attentive and excellent service and enthusiasm. Mr Antony Mahaga. The entire Hotel staff works hard to provide a comfortable and relaxing experience and stay. The attentiveness and tireless efforts of the entire staff and especially the individuals mentioned above, keep me coming back multiple times over the past several years. Keep up the Great Work! I will continue to come back to this particular property Anytime business takes me to Dubai. It Always truly a memorable experience! I am looking forward to returning Soon!

I expected to be rating this Le Meridien way higher than two stars, but I am left with too sour a taste in my mouth to do so. There are just too many more affordable—and equally as nice—options in Dubai, courtesy of less premium brands like Courtyard Marriott, Four Points, and Hyatt Place. Despite the incredible $50 per night rate I secured for my stay, the surprising inexpensive-ness is deceptive. Read on to not only see my negatives, but the few positives (starting with them first below): - Everything was clean, well-maintained, and beautiful. The atmosphere was really nice. - The service was friendly and warm, if not slightly obsequious at times (although overly-attentive service is common for me as a disabled person). Friendliness and hospitality hit the mark, though. - The room was modern, neat, clean, and BIG—the mobility-accessible room offered more than enough space for my wheelchair and easily surpassed rooms of the same type in America. Now here are the important negatives: - Overpriced. Period. I know full well that Le Meridiens are a premium Marriott brand, and I know that this is Dubai, but I also know that dining options suiting more budget-friendly travelers should be provided alongside the fancy places. I know that incidentals should be much less, or at least should be more easily negotiated as less. (Read more about this problem further in this review.) Here I was, thinking, WOW! A $50 a night Le Meridien! Cheaper than anywhere else! But when I’m charged nearly a hundred US dollars for a breakfast and a dinner total per day (not even including lunch), the rate suddenly more than doubles. - Unless folks firmly demand they get tap water, BEWARE. You will be charged for this universal need to survive. Water. Not any kind of luxe soda or wine. The water that humans need to survive. Thankfully you’re given free water without question in America. Please stop deceiving customers at your restaurants by not offering free water. - Wheelchair accessibility is present, but it’s not convenient. Staying on the first floor in room numbers beginning around 1000, wheelchair users have two choices: go out in the sweltering desert temps to access a ~100-meter pathway from the lobby to the rooms, or take a loop around the entire first floor hallway plan to reach the indoor ramps. And specifically accessible rooms are in this area too. No options are convenient; it’s annoying to go outside every single time you leave your room, and it’s annoying to spend an extra two or three minutes circling the entire first floor. If a ramp was in place at the closest entry point to the early-1000 room numbers, time between lobby and room would be drastically shorter. Not to mention, the buttons needed to open the doors to/from the outside are not clear, if you choose the outdoor route. The corridor you go through to get outside is also dirty and unfit for the eyes of a traveler seeking a nice, clean hotel experience. It’s where tons of old boxes and mechanical equipment are stored. - Despite claims of soundproofed rooms, I still could hear faint (yet frustrating) noise outside my room. I’m a very light sleeper, and it was consistent noise and distracting noise. I wanted to change to a pool view room, and while not the hotel’s fault, no pool rooms were available on my dates. - The hotel says that none of its rooms allow smoking, which is universal in America and a good thing to do, in my opinion. Yet all the on-site restaurants I dined at allowed smoking, either in the whole dining room or in a specific section. However, never were the sections completely cordoned off, so every time I ate out, I could smell cigarettes. Obnoxious. - More about the staff: They did become obsequious at times, which I want to mention ONLY for the insight of others, NOT to bash or criticize the extremely kind, hard-working people who make the Le Meridien happen. The amount of sirs and ma’ams spoken got kinda out of control. Again, I know the premium nature of the brand, but I doubt Ritz Carltons or St Regis properties would have staff repeating these honorifics the amount observed here. It got comical, especially when I got frustrated with the hotel bill (now get ready to read about the bill below). - The hotel was so overpriced for me that, as a solo traveler with limited money, I had to check out early. Thank you to the staff who graciously worked with me to cut my stay short by four nights; I’m not disappointed with that AT ALL. Great job! But. There was (and still is, as of mid-June) confusion and delays with the return of the money I had paid as incidentals/authorization/holds/etc etc. As of mid-June, I am out of money and stranded abroad, having been short of $400 still held by the hotel. Mansi from the accounting department has been extremely kind and efficient at working this out, but the latest update I can give is that the debit card used for the reservation wasn’t the one the money was refunded to (a similarly-named guest was refunded instead, from what I can see). So the process of gaining this $400 is far from over, and I’ve had to resort to desperate measures like borrowing from my angry mother to get by in the interim. I’ve had excessive costs arise that I’ve needed to pay, all as a result of debts incurred from not getting the $400 soon after checking out. I get that it takes awhile sometimes. But I’ve reached out to the Le Meridien to politely request they expedite things. Nothing has been expedited. There should be efforts on their end to help me out. It’s incredibly frustrating for me. I know I caused the early checkout and complicated the situation, but my level of politeness and modesty should yield some more efficiency on their part to get my money back. I’ve been typing for quite a while here, but I need this property to know my thoughts. More pertinently, I need my fellow TripAdvisor users to know my thoughts. Do not be deceived by the low daily rates and the prospect of restaurants on site. Fees will add up and water will be charged if you’re not careful, and it’s just not worth it compared to your nearby Hyatt Place or Aloft. I hope you take note of these observations and make as many changes as feasible. Next time, I’ll stay at the newly-built Aloft across the street and be able to preserve my bank account; I suggest my family and friends to do the same. Thank you.

I always stay at the hotel when visiting Dubai. Always looked after well by the staff, in particular Madhu, Vinesh, Nsingi and Bahadur from my long breakfast times together; and Razir from the tour desk who helped to organize several trips for me, great job; the big 'lifeguard' from the room pool; and the room cleaner. Again thank you so much for making my stay such a pleasure.
