We have been to a number of hotels on The Palm for staycations but this outshone them all. Nothing was an issue, all the staff were fabulous, polite and accommodating . They seem to genuinely care of you are having a good time. Many of the staff we spoke to had been at the resort since it had opened, testament to the management . We ate at the Beach House and Bushmans, no starters required at either as the portions were very generous. Today we had afternoon tea at the Lotus Lounge - stunning. We followed Happy Hour around the resort -best Aperol Spritz at the Lotus Lounge. Special shout outs to Maya in the Lotus Lounge who has the knack of remembering previous orders as well as bookings, she has a permanent smile and makes you want her as a friend . Also Khayan, our buggy driver from North Reception who was happy to take us on a guided tour today, he was really proud of where he worked and so he should be - it’s a true haven of peace and tranquility.

We are currently staying at Anantara in a deluxe lagoon access; we have visited several times as we love the resort. It’s honestly a hidden gem of Dubai and this time we have been lucky enough to come across two individuals who have made this trip extra special; both Manohar who is a life guard in the resort and Malcom from resort activities have been incredible throughout our stay. I have stayed at many resorts but never experienced individuals as caring and attentive as them both, they have gone above and beyond their job role in order to make our trip special. Manohar in particular has been amazing with my children from the moment he starts his shift to when he finishes. He’s built my four year olds confidence with swimming and has also been incredible with my 11month old and 8year old. Ensuring they are entertained and keeping them occupied all day everyday, to the point I have struggled to get them out of the resort to see Dubai as they don’t want to miss a moment of fun with him and Malcom also. They have truly made this trip one my boys will remember forever so we’d all like to sincerely thank them and we are already looking to book for later in the year and for next year due to these two amazing individuals, they really are a credit to anantara Dubai.

room is spacious - up to date decor and view from our room is the beautiful lagoon village - away from civilisation and unreal. We loved the experience and service of the Tuk Tuk (buggies, which were at our service all day long to be driven to and fro to the pool, restaurants and all the surrounding grounds of the hotel) The staff were extremely friendly and helpful - they couldn't do enough for us, even when there was something that we weren't happy about, they rectified it and gave us a lot more - cannot fault it. Always with attentiveness and a smile. Makes all the difference. Amongst the many lovely staff, there however was one person whom everyone loved in the Hotel, and that was our Malcolm, who was all round the pool socialising with all the guests and bonding everyone together. An asset to the hotel, but a true gem of an individual. I want to come again and I hope when I next visit, he is part of the management team, but exposed to the guests. He listens and tries to accommodate the best way he can. He was a lot of fun and part of our holiday family. If he wasn't around, we would find out where he was. We had many conversations with Malcolm about ways of improving this wonderful place and he was all ears and encouraged any criticism in the best interest of the hotel. We went on a half board basis but all the restaurants had restrictions and would charge for certain foods, which I didn't think was very nice. I can understand paying extra for the drinks but not the food. Also when the shuttle bus returned from a trip to the shopping mall, I believe there should be buggies waiting for guests to be taken to their rooms, not wait and people pushing in to get the first buggie that comes, that needs a bit of tidying up and synchronisation with the shuttle bus and hotel reception staff. I believe there should be a little variety of entertainment. At the moment there is the jazz played while having breakfast and evening meal, which is a lovely tough, but there should be shows and a little dancing going on as an option Other than that, the above are small teething problems. The food was excellent there. One of the best quality breakfasts and choices. Never get rid of your excellent egg station and crepe station. What a treat!! The above is all my thoughts and thanks to a first time visit to Dubai. I am already talking about returning back and staying in the same place with more incredible surprises to come. I wish the hotel every success in the future and hope to see you all again soon. N. Louca
