Stayed for 3 nights. The hostel is easy to find using the metro and tram system. It felt very safe with the security downstairs. The room was great and so was the kitchen/communal spaces. Would stay here again if in Dubai.
At The Top Hostel in Dubai was a total nightmare. Unfriendly, unprofessional, LAZY and GREEDY. The people worked at the check-in desk act like they hate doing their job. They never smile, never greet you and make excuses when we asked for assistance. I have NEVER seen a hostel that is extremely greedy and lazy as this one. I asked three different staff to provide me with a printed receipt for the payment I made for the dorm and they refused to do it. I paid them to do my laundry. When I went to collect my clean clothes, the clothes did not get fold it just got stuffed back in the dirty bag. The 2nd time I paid them to wash my clothes, I gave them a very clean bag and asked them to put my clean clothes in the clean bag after it's done but they KEPT my clean bag and put my clean clothes back into the dirty bag again. The hostel was divided into 2 sections in the building. If you happened to be assigned to the other section of the dorm, you will need to use your door card to scan and open through two locked doors before you get to see the staff. Getting a hot water shower is like playing lottery ticket. Sometime you get very weak warm water and other times you will get cold water shower. Water shower also very weak. All dorm rooms are MIXED gender with NO privacy curtains. This is a terrible place to stay. I deeply regreted my stay at this hostel.…
We liked burj khalifa visit. It is amazing and everyone should visit this tower in Dubai and also the fountain. You can see all the city around you especially if the weather is clear and the sun is good
this is a good value place (for dubai). the views from the 66th floor are amazing. showers are great, there's a good kitchen too and with carrefour downstairs you can get provisions easily. beds are not the best and i think they'd benefit from a privacy curtain as well. AED15 to hire (yes hire) a towel is frankly outrageous and just greedy. ditto AED5 per sheet if you need to print your onward flight ticket!! not much atmosphere but i was ok with that. the rudeness of the concierge reception of the actual building the hostel is located is much to be lamented.
We booked this place because of the view as per published photos. Yes you can see the Jumeirah Palm from the common room, but not the same angle as per published. Maybe they took it from another place. That said, being located on the 66th floor, you still get great views of the marina, neighboring buildings and the dubai skydiving area. Place is just 100m away from the tram so easy to get around. Tram is connected to the train via damac station. Going from hostel to Dubai Mall took us around 40min to an hour (inclusive of the long walkway from metro to mall). No hairdryer in the suite. Only available in the common bathroom. Best suited for backpackers.
