Stayed here for a week in September 2021 and hotel was excellent. Corridors were well kept and even smelt good. Lobby was spacious and had a cafe space too. The views of Dubai were also great from the 4th Floor. Doorman and check-in staff were also extremely professional. Location is about a 10-15 minute walk to Al Ghurair Mall and Union Metro Station. Easy for Uber pick-up. I recommend this hotel

Due to unavailability of my appartement in Dubai I stayed for 18 (!!) weeks in this very pleasant hotel. Being here gave me an alternative feeling-at-home. The people of the information desk, the people at the entrance, the porters, the people in the restaurant they all were friendly, cooperative, helpfull. It could not be better. Thank you all.......

Stay AWAY from this hotel, they will deceive you as much as they can and suck as much money as they can...their rude, typical answer to any issue that you have is "Welcome to Dubai" i.e. Welcome we (the hotel) are going to rip you off and rub it in your face.
We went to this hotel at night and made a booking. The staff (Iranian and Egyptian) at the counter gave a price that was 1300Aed and they guaranteed that was the best price they could give. They tried haggling with the price trying to bring it up more and more.
They told us they had 2 rooms left so we went and looked at it and it looked average not a 5 star room at all.
We made a comment to the person that showed us the room that it does not look like a 5 star hotel room, it didn't look clear and it had a stingy smell of smoke. We told them we wanted a smoke free room. We then went down to the reception where we told the staff member that we wanted a non-smoking room he said no rudely and all we have is 1 smoking and 1 non smoking room and the rest of the hotel was fully booked.
So I told him I will think about it.
We then came back in and told them we will just take one non smoking room, the staff member did not appear too happy with that and they went to the back to check with the manager, and miraculously another non smoking room appeared out of nowhere, that's one of the lies that they did.
The next day we went down to ask for the free wifi that was part of their Hotel policy. We spoke to an Egyptian at the counter and he said that we have to pay to get it and the price was much higher than purchasing a sim card and loading it with a data plan. My wife made a comment to them that the website says it’s free and in the worst case a hotel would have free internet in the lobby. The person, rudely and offensively said NO followed with a "Welcome to Dubai" comment suggesting that hotels do not provide that service free of charge.
I went out and bought a sim card and then went back to the hotel to show them their hotel policy in regards to the free wifi, the rude person that was there had left, so I started speaking to the manager Mohamed, I told him 2 things. 1 your hotel policy says on booking.com that you provide free internet in the lobby and all rooms. He said no that is only if you purchase through booking.com So I told him show me where it says that on booking.com he could not and became defensive.
I then told him about the expensive rate that they charged me and i showed him the rate on booking.com that i had a screen shot of from the day before and he could not respond to that and he smiled and handed me his card to show me that he's the night manager.
He then tried to beat around the bush and tried to play psychological games to dodge the issues. He then offered me a wifi voucher which I rejected at first but then he gave it to me at the end. I complained to him about the way the other staff member insulted my wife that was shrugged off with an apology.
The manager did not want to do anything with the expensive charge so I have told him I will be taking the issue to the Department of Tourisms and Commerce. He did not care as the charge had apparently gone through when I know it didn't as all they did was put a place holder on my card so that’s another lie.
He then tried to give me a deal on staying for 2 more nights but the rate was more expensive than going booking.com so the deal was another rip off.
When I went to checkout I asked for him but he had left, so the nice lady at the counter asked me if she can help with anything, I told her that I had a issue and wanted to speak to Mohamed but since he’s away I will write a complaint letter etc. I then asked for the other staff member’s names and she asked if they were Egyptian and then she provided both of their names for my report. She asked if she can assist and she asked me to write down the issue, I told her that I don’t want to write it down and summarized the issue with her. I told her that I’m going to write a letter to the tourism and commerce commission for the unfair charges and mistreatment etc.
I would never stay in this hotel until the night team changes and they bring people that know how to deal with customers without stereotyping them and trying to rip them off. Mohamed was good to deal with but the other 2 people that I dealt with should be re-trained.
The people in that night shift(except Mohamed) are the most likely cause of all of these bad reviews for the hotel. If they change along with making sure hotel policies are followed then this hotel would be better. Honesty and Integrity go a long way to satisfying customer needs.
I would also recommend filing a report with dubaitourism.ae about any unfair trading with hotels in dubai this was recommended to me by a UAE national.
Hope no one gets stung the same way

It's really more like a 3.5 but I rounded up. Felt like a normal HIlton/3-4 star hotel but not a 5 star hotel.
I was scared by all the reviews but I was stuck with it because I used Priceline bidding.
Thankfully the only one that came true was the terrible reception/check in wait/unfriendlyness (That woman really is unfriendly! The men are ok). They do ask for passports and a deposit (if you used a credit card like I did, it will be a $400 AED authorization) There's no line or welcome to the hotel greeting, and people also cut in front of you so you just have to go up to the reception forcibly and state your business.
We ended up on the 10th floor in a non smoking room (which really was non-smoking. Didn't smell like smoke at all.). It was only 1 King size bed, but it was fine for the 2 of us. We faced an empty parking lot but we didn't hear any prayer or any other noises (I kept waking up in the middle of the night but I really didn't hear anything. We are heavy sleepers as well).
The bathroom had adequate and clean toilet paper and Kleenex. The shower door was a little weird but there was always enough hot water. There was a clothesline in the bathroom. The reason why I think it was a higher level room:
We got a fruit plate every day
We got free wifi (which was only supposed to be included in the higher level rooms)
We got a free bottle of water without asking every day
I paid $490 for 4 nights so ehh (not included the 20 AED per day tax that they charge you at checkout, which I did expect as a separate charge). They did ask if we used the minibar (there was nothing in the minibar so not really sure what was supposed to be in there?) and I said no, and he changed my deposit authorization to be only the $80 AED that I owed. For that money though, I probably have chose Arabian Courtyard instead, as it was right across from the Dubai Museum and easy access to souks. The train station would be quite bit further though.
The closest station was Union, and that was about 10 minutes away. You go by the direction of this really yummy Egyptian restaurant (with a green sign) ($4 AED delicious falafel which they spell foul, sandwiches), there's pretty good signage at that point. You are however 40 minutes to Damac properties (the marina station) and 25 minutes to the Dubai mall, so not the closest of places.
There was a bunch of convenience stores and 1.5 L of water were only 2AED. There's also a money exchange nearby that had a decent rate (1 USD = 3.65).
The smell in the lobby was typical of Dubai, it's an incense-y type of smell, but it wasn't horrible.
I'm glad our experiences wasn't anything like the stated reviews, but be very careful. I think the amount I paid per night was more expensive the 90 USD that is quoted for the standard room. The restaurant across the street had pretty good shawarma sandwich for 10AED so go there instead of the chinese restaurant (or the Egyptian restaurant, which was already open at 8am)

The hotel is good, it's absolutely not a five star hotel. My score for the hotel is 3 of 5 stars. The smell in the lobby is a deal breaker for me. It was so bad that i had to hold my breath every time i went to/from the elevators, thats for 7 days! I can not recommend the hotel to anyone i know just because of the smell. A big plus is the pool, the water was hot.

+1
I've stayed in many hotels in Dubai and for several reasons from now one I will go back to this one! The main reason is the roof swimming pool and the creek view, another is the sleep quality and the bed. Food (breakfast - not included in the price/night :( ) is also good and varied and you can eat on the terrace if you're a smoker, which for us was great. Friendly and helpful stuff, ladies at the salon are great either. Rooms are big and very clean, same the bathrooms. I read the other reviews and I'm amazed, we had no issues with the WI-fi, nor bad smells, nor rude personnel..I really enjoyed the 6 days stay there.

I am still in this hotel. I am sitting up in bed, so irritated by this place that I felt I needed to tell someone. So this is YOU! Sorry. But don't book here. I have family in town. I chose this because of the location and the price because I had to pay for 2 rooms and I am but a poor school teacher.. Please pay a little more and get a better place! Let me begin with why I am awake at 7:30 am, when my goal on vacation is to sleep until after the 8am hour... Hammering. The workers in the room either beside me or above me hammer at 7:25 am every morning. So each of the 3 mornings I have been here, I have called and told them that I have children and they are actually still sleeping and to PLEASE make it stop. It sounds like a rubber mallet on a big pipe...anyway, it has taken 8-10 minutes but they do stop it. We asked last night to please make sure it doesn't happen again....I am writing you now after my morning phone call.
Second: the room was over an hour late being prepared upon check in. That was fun with 2 kids...one of whom was very ill. Then, there was no towel, no wash cloths, no toilet paper (well, the one roll that was in there was soaking wet and bloated beyond recognition, so I am assuming it was TP)....and no bathrobe. The bathrobe wouldn't matter except that they will charge you if you steal it sooooooo kinda want that to be hanging in the closet when you leave. No tissue (kleenex). So when my daughter was getting out of the shower and was cold and dripping, she calls me for a towel...she is a kid and didn't look around to see if she was prepared before she got drenched. I had to call to get a towel.... and this was fun for bonding: for the family, they brought ONE towel and two hand towels- for the FAMILY. I live in the UAE. This isn't some cultural thing...this is just odd.
Third: if the staff gets bored, they will close amenities like the pool. Oh, and this was amusing. My mother in law has a bad back and it was killing her. She really wanted a jacuzzi/hot tub. So I made sure they had one before I booked. Yeahhhhh, glad I did that! We went to get in and asked for help locating it.....only the men have one! Of course. So, my husband and son did their victory dance and ran off to get in....wait for it...they came back dragging their defeat behind them! Why? Because if you want to get in the hot tub, you have to give them an hours notice so they can fill it up! And then it needs to heat up! I was thankful for the laugh, but COME ON! :)
The "horrible smell" that one reviewer complained about is the seriously sweet smell that lots of people here find to be pleasant. Westerners generally do not like such strong odors...I get headaches...but my husband has commented several times "Wow! it smells FANASTIC!" So, that is a personal thing. If you want to know my PERSONAL dislike- and this is seriously a first world problem..but it is a "5 star" hotel so valid, in my opinion- the products are generic. Like the shampoos and stuff. I know, I know....who cares, right? But on the off chance someone cares- I always like going into the hotels here and seeing the cool products I get to try. I have become used to not having to bring my bottles from home and was led down because this stuff is really bad. Take it or leave it.
Fourth- water bottles; 1 per room and if you ask for another- they charge you.
Fifth- no top sheet. Normal for some nationalities but my in-laws did not like that and the duvet was too hot for them so I mention it.
Sixth- yes, they give you instant coffee and a kettle. We went to buy water at the market to use it. The kettle is so off brand that the handle becomes as hot as the water as it boils. That was fun finding out. Also, it doesn't turn off when it boils, like ever other kettle I have used. And there is no stirrer for your coffee. So we had to use pens from my purse.
Seventh - my husband is sleeping on the ground on some cushions because the bed "sucked", although i have stayed in youth hostiles and this isn't torturous to me.
On the plus side- although the reception lady did not smile or even acknowledge me when I was checking in (one of those "little bit of power for little people" things I guess) the other staff has been quite pleasant. They say hello when I say hello. They don't glare like they hate me being here- they bring us what we ask for and I appreciate that. Thats all I really need when it comes to staff.
There you have it. I would not stay here again...and I come to dubai all the time and always look for a good deal. It just isn't worth it. It is DUBAI people!!!! Dubai knows how to cater!

My husband and I specifically requested a non-smoking room booked months in advance but unfortunately that request was oveoverlooked. The room that was provided for us smelt horrible and completely saturated with smoke. Despite our best efforts in asking for a different room, 'nothing could be done'. Despite trying to air the room out, all of our clothes were marinated with smoke by morning.
We will definitely stay somewhere else next time we stopover in Dubai.
