Matin Abad Eco- Resort & Organic Farm, Iran is one of 18 best practices in sustainable (Eco) tourism initiated by governments, NGOs, and private sectors, in developing countries, including SIDS, with potentials for replication elsewhere. The best practices were collected and analyzed by four main criteria: Conservation, Community, Culture, and Commerce, initiated by The Zeitz Foundation, the main pillars of sustainable (eco) tourism. Matin Abad Eco- Resort & Organic Farm was established in 2008. The group of experts in tourism and naturalists want to provide the tourists with an opportunity for an experience and adventures close to the nature. In the company of seasoned naturalists, tourists will experience treks with camel ride or walk; they can ride bikes through waves of sand and mountain valleys, and can even enjoy desert walks in the beautiful star-lit nights. Located between the sand dunes and vast semiarid grass-covered plain is the camp with modern facilities.

Although the decoration was traditional the clearness of the rooms was amazingm. The good thing is there was an special place for camp fire where you can enjoy night. The "Goshvare" room was the best room providing enough space for at least 5 people.

Very nice place. Really unique. Calm staffs and clean but simple rooms. We also tested single camping rooms and tents. The atmosphere was a comfort experience of being inside desert. We back to this place soon.

Definitely adds to the charm of visiting Iran. Away from the towns this eco-camp at the edge of the desert is a wonderful place to spend some time.Besides it is an example in sustainable living...the area around it greened to grow a variety of fruit and vegetables that make it to the table. So there is organic, fresh food that's served.... The complex also has a nice cafe with a terrace here that one can relax in. Besides the main building with its clean and comfortable rooms one can also opt for a hut or tent. Cart and camel rides into the desert are offered. The desert safari is a tad disappointing both in terms of cost and time (expensive for the ten minutes drive). Opt for a walk instead. Climb a dune... early evenings are beautiful.

We came here with private taxi. This special hotel/camp in the desert is the best place to visit. The camp is an eco camp and therefore the food that you are eating here is coming from their own gardens. The dinner and breakfast were very tasty. The house of dried soil was nicely renovated and clean and had its own toilet and douche. A great destination to stay if you wanna see some stars 👌🏼

This eco resort camp has been established as first of such kind in Iran. They serve only organic food, which is being grown on the same camp. There are camels and other type of animals. Staff is very friendly and helpful. They offer different kind of trips and we were lucky to try one of them - a tour with an old mercedes class bus through desert to a castle, which is 8000 years old. It was an amazing experience because we were totally alone there. No tourists, only us and nature! Worth to visit 100%!!!
