THIS HOTEL CAN MEET YOUR EXPECTATIONS of a decent and affordable hotel. Above all, it is so conveniently located that you can visit all items on your list of attractions in Isfahan. In addition, the staff can speak English reasonably.

We were absolutely happy with our choice. The room and bathroom were very clean. There is a TV and a fridge in the room. The location is in the center of Esfahan and in walking distance to all sights. But the best thing about the hotel is the manager and the staff. Totally friendly and helpful. He even got us bus tickets to Yazd and arranged an early breakfast at 5 in the morning just for us. I highly recommend Hotel Iran for low budget travellers as well as everyone else and if I'll be back in Esfahan sometimes I'll stay there again, this is 100% sure.

We arrived off the night train from Tehran at about 0600 without any reservation. A taxi man tried to hustle us. A cop told us to stop photographing election stuff. Our suitcases were a pain to pull around. My fiancee needed the bathroom. We had no maps. We had no phone, no numbers. Everywhere was closed, it being Friday. Things were looking bad. Then the Iran Hotel appeared out of nowhere a few doors down a side street. The man had almost no English, and he was a little grumpy, but in a grandfatherly way. Yes, he sniffed, there was a double room. It was 875, 000 a night, including breakfast, which was about 20 USD in all. Entering that room was heavenly. We were saved!
The man who runs the place lived in Canada for twenty or so years, and is extremely helpful. The location is right on the main strip. The breakfast is in a spotless restaurant upstairs and the lady in charge might give you a smile if you're good.
A splendid place!

Probably 6 stars for the service! The owner, Mr Babak, speak very fluent english, and unbelieveable helpful. For the 3 days that we stayed in this hotel, he handled every of our request well (from taxi arrangment, to bus ticket booking or even some extended helps), he just never turned us down. Even when Mr Babak is not around, you could request his hotel staff to ring him a call, and you could then talk to him directly.
I have became a traveller for many years, stayed in numerous hotel/hostels, yet, has never encountered such a helpful hotel owner compared to Mr Babak.
As for the room, it is basic but clean, quiet and hot water is promising. If you prefered seat toilet instead of squad type (common in Iran), you should probably request it upon check in.
If you are on tight budget, looking to have a clean room with good location (walking distance to most of the tourist spots) and excellent service, Iran Hotel is definitely your choice!

Hotel Iran is very basic with no luxury but its clean . the best thing is the location which is in chahar bagh street . single rooms were 26 dollar a night . if you are travelling on budget I recommend this place which is simple and clean .I should also mention its not quiet until 11 pm when the shops get closed but overall I do recommend it .

Ok, so unfortunatly I couldn't stay at this lovely hotel (they only had rooms left with squat toilets...), their service is impeccable! I had a very pleasant e-mail exchange with mister Soltani and he helped us out by suggesting some other hotels at roughly the same location and price point. Will definitly stay here in a future trip to Iran!

We stayed at Iran Hotel on recommendation of Mr Mousavi from Firouzeh Hotel. We loved our stay here and would thoroughly recommend Iran Hotel to anyone looking for a clean and central hotel with friendly service in Esfahan. We stayed in a double room with en-suite for six nights and paid IRR405,000 per night (approximately USD32) with breakfast included.
The room was cleaned daily and included a fridge, TV and Western style toilet with open shower room. Squat toilets are also available if preferred. Our room was faced the lane side (the lane just off Chahar Bagh Abbasi St) but it wasn't too noisy due to the double-glazed windows. The air-conditioning wasn't turned on while we there so the room could get fairly warm with the morning sun shining directly in. We would just leave the window open during the day and since the nights were cool, this would help the room cool down in the evenings.
The lobby has been renovated recently but the rooms are still in the old style, albeit very clean and well maintained, with many rugs, 1970s décor and pastel colours (as you'll find in many 2-3 star budget hotels in Iran). The bed consists of just a thin foam mattress which may not be to everyone's liking. The bathroom was fully tiled and absolutely spotless. Hot water took a few minutes to come through but we've found this has been common in many of the older hotel buildings.
The hotel is located within walking distance to all the main tourist sights around Esfahan. Just up the road past Iman Hossein square and on the side opposite to hotel, is a restaurant called Azam Beryani. It has an entry in the Lonely Planet guide book and is definitely worth a visit, especially if you are tired of typical Iranian fast food. It had the best 'fast food' we've had in Iran so far and we went there every day for lunch (sad as it sounds, we couldn't find anything else that tasted half as good and wasn't just meat with rice/bread).
The staff at Iran Hotel were incredibly helpful and friendly which we thought was one of the main draw cards for this hotel. They recommended places to visit, made sure our room was cleaned (even when we slept in late), helped us book our onward tickets to Yazd and catch a fairly priced taxi to Jey terminal. We were very impressed with the service and care. The hotel also offers free wi-fi in the lobby. There was an issue with the modem while we were there so they sent it off for repairs immediately, which we thought was very nice of them.
