Very characterful and good-looking, with the wood-panelling and all, but that has its downsides, such as the sitting area and bathroom not being air-conditioned. Value for money, but could effortlessly be improved by supplying sufficient water, improving the breakfast, spraying for mosquitoes and such. Perhaps avoid during the wet season as there was one storm when I was there and...

Dear Georgia, Thank you for taking some of you time to review on TripAdvisor. Your stay just arrived with the exeptional weather in southeast asia. A big spike of temperature, which brings also some storm in our region. All the town was washed with a big storm, a lot of roof were damaged in town and several trees felled on...

We are a couple of 60+ and stayed in Villa Maydou for 7 nights. We did not use the good looking free bycicles but walked into town along the Nam Kha in the morning and came back by Tuk Tuk (20 t Kip). Our "Traditional" room was first floor overlooking the pool, very tastefully furnished and decorated with a good...

The room was spotless, quiet, and the amenities great. Large room that provided a European touch of fineness. Breakfast, jazz music at the open bar to relax was wonderful. I highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed here for 4 nights. Lovely heritage buildings, secluded peaceful gardens next to monastery. About 10-15 minute walk to the centre. Free bike hire. The room was large with a big veranda with a table and chairs and a large comfy seating area with cushions. It was clean.Unfortunately I think this place needs a bit of t.l.c and it would...

This charming hotel offers a delightful stay. Rooms in the new section have teak floors, private lanais and pleasant views of the pool. There is a charming outdoor snack/lounge area, and an ample breakfast is also served open air. The menu reflects the area's French influence, with omelettes and yogurt among the offerings. Internet is included, and owner Sam is...

Dear Niama Chavariane, Thank you for your review. Happy to read that you like you stay. I'm pleased to read that the Villa Maydou team was able to come up with some solutions that could have solved the problem. This is an odd one. On the outside, the Villa Maydou is authentic with a lovely garden setting and a general ambience oozing traditional Lao style. However, I found it lacking in a few areas. The hotel is a higher-end choice so to not have in-room safes or drinking water provided seem to be such simple things that really shouldn't...

This was average value for money place. There is a lot of choice in Luang Prabang so I would probably stay elsewhere next time. Staff are friendly and helpful. We stayed 2 nights and were pleased with the location and the level of service and comfort. It is located right beside a temple, and the temple courtyard is used as an entrance way.
