We stayed at the Apsara for 4 nights in Luang Prabang and you truly can't beat the location. Its by the river and next to all the main shopping and restaurants area! The rooms have that old world charm to them and makes you feel like you have stepped back a century - which fits perfectly with the overall feel...

We enjoyed this restaurant so much we ate there twice. The setting is pretty amazing, with colorful paper lanterns over an outdoor terrace overlooking the Nam Khan River. Even though there was a road between the terrace and the kitchen, it is very quiet and I didn't even notice any traffic during our meal. The food itself was amazingly good,...

Had a lovely meal here, gorgeous food and very friendly service. It has a lovely view over the river and you can sit looking out over the river if you want. We also had our young son with us who asked lots of questions, they were very accommodating.

My husband and I stayed at the cute little Apsara hotel during our four days in Luang Prabang. Our stay was pleasant and the rooms that we stayed in (we had to split three days upstairs and one downstairs) were quite comfortable and representative of their surroundings. A few things we were not so happy with though was the service...

Superb lunch sat with gorgeous view over Nan Khan river. Quiet street away from the busy old town. Beautiful presentation, fresh unusual flavours without too much added spice. We tried the yellow pumpkin, eggplant, bamboo, green bean curry- wonderful. Also lemongrass and coriander fishcakes on cucumber salad. Delicious.

Quaint little guest house in the heart of Luang Prabang. The rooms are very simply furnished with traditional wood furniture including bed, dresser and armoire. No TV and very spotty wifi. There's very little to do in LP and a tv would have been nice, but maybe it's the point to disconnect. Breakfast was included and the attached restaurant was...

Quiet and spacious rooms overlooking the Nam khan river.. The right place to spend a lazy time in luang prabang.. Yet.. Not very far from the city sights you can take a short walk to the night market or the early morning alms giving procession. The best food places are located within walking distance.. Making it very convenient. The staff...

I am a creature of habits so I return to places I like. It was great to see The Apsara still going strong. It has been spruce up a big, not that it needed to (aircon in my favourite room, number 7, changed and quieter). This is a truly boutique hotel, located in the heard of the UNESCO designated area...

For a great place to stay in Luang Prabang, Laos try The Apsara. Right on the river with views from your traditional style open air rooms, you can't beat this location in a hidden gem city right on the Mekong River in Laos. The beds, service, breakfast are fantastic and try to go during the Festival of Lights and Boat...

Our group of four friends stayed at The Apsara for six days. It had been recommended to me by a friend who was quite charmed by the place, although he had also stayed at the 3 Nagas. The Apsara's location is definitely one of its trump cards. While not on the main street, it is within walking distance of all...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The first and still one of the most beautiful boutique hotels in Luang Prabang, the Apsara was originally a rice warehouse situated on the banks of the Nam Khan [The quieter side of town]. The Apsara is also right in the heart of the heritage village, making it the perfect place to stay. From the comfort of its large, airy bedrooms, rated by the Washington Post as "an inch beyond decadence", it's easy to explore temples and the lanes of Luang Prabang. After which you can relax on the river terrace and enjoy the spectacular views and a refreshing Beer Laos. But that's not all, our restaurant is well known for having one of the most interesting menus in town as well as a superb wine list and the driest martinis in Laos. As Hip Hotels said "Both the restaurant and bar reflect a refined sense of taste" and who are we to argue with that. ... more   less
