I stayed at the Apsara for 4 nights in Aug 2016. The hotel is very beautiful with elegant decor and large, spacious rooms. Our room on the upper floor had a four-poster bed and a large bath in the corner of the room. I found the staff very charming and helpful. The location of the hotel is ideal - it... More

We only got to spend one night here and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Wish we had spent another couple of nights here now. Room was spacious and very comfortable, Fridge and AC were excellent. We got picked up from airport by the staff at night which was great and they dropped us off to our slow boat... More

The Apsara is one of the many small hotels in Luang Prabang. It's advantage is the location near to the main attractions, but still in a calm environment. The hotel staff is helpful. The internet connection was very good! It worked spotless throughout the trip. The rooms are clean, but simple with no TV. The minibar got drinks which cost the... More

Luang Prabang has been a highlight of my SE Asia trip and The Aspara one of my favourite hotels. I booked The Aspara having read an article on the Internet saying it was the place to stay. We had two first floor river view rooms. The rooms are huge and extremely comfortable. I would have given the hotel a five... More

The Apsara is the perfect hotel for your stay in Luang Prabang. Why? A few minutes from the centre of town. The morning parade of monks around the corner, quiet location on Mekong, friendly atmosphere. We booked the standard rooms upstairs. Hot water available all day on the terrace (we always bring our own coffee). Just a nice place!

Spent 3 lovely nights at Apsara, and would definitely recommend it! Spacious room, with old-world charm of wide floorboards, a folding screen separating the bathroom, and real working shutters to keep out the early morning sunlight. The air conditioning was powerful! The staff provided great service, breakfast, dinner or helping with an occasional scanning/office request. The breakfast menu is the... More

Stayed on the River Droit side - absolutely comfortable, extremely well looked after for our whole stay. Staff were well informed about the area and nothing was ever a problem. Would very highly recommend it. Used the hotel pool frequently and the hotel boat often for river crossings - very convenient to town

Stayed here for a week with three of my girlfriends and I really enjoyed my time here. The hotel was very clean, great in room wifi, with a nice breakfast and restaurant. The staff was super helpful and friendly. The location is perfect as well. It's a few blocks away from the main drag and therefore is a quiet street... More

A gem in Luang Prabang. I had an upstairs room with balcony and view to the Nam Khan river. The room was spacious, beautifully decorated with local furniture and fabrics. The staff is impeccable and went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. Temples, coffees and restaurants around the corner. Perfect location. Top in my list!

Rooms are clean. Location is fab. Opp the river and 3 mins walk to main street. Chris the manager is helpful and kept checking up that we were fine. Welcoming. Great restaurant too. Definately reccomend this hotel. They also offer tours but found high street ones had better prices.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The first and still one of the most beautiful boutique hotels in Luang Prabang, the Apsara was originally a rice warehouse situated on the banks of the Nam Khan [The quieter side of town]. The Apsara is also right in the heart of the heritage village, making it the perfect place to stay. From the comfort of its large, airy bedrooms, rated by the Washington Post as "an inch beyond decadence", it's easy to explore temples and the lanes of Luang Prabang. After which you can relax on the river terrace and enjoy the spectacular views and a refreshing Beer Laos. But that's not all, our restaurant is well known for having one of the most interesting menus in town as well as a superb wine list and the driest martinis in Laos. As Hip Hotels said "Both the restaurant and bar reflect a refined sense of taste" and who are we to argue with that. ... more   less
