This is a small guest house(advertised as a Boutique Hotel)located about a km from the river. There are about 14 rooms in two structures. The woodwork is fantastic Lao-French design. There is one doubleroom on the upper floor with balcony which is nice. Rooms are fairly small but come with a queen size bed which is comfy, cable TV and in room safe. Air conditioning and wifi was good. Breakfast was excellent and served on the balcony outside the room. Eggs to order and fresh juices and fruits including large pancakes. Complimentary coffee and tea is provided thru the day but you need to request. The rooms feel a bit dimly lit and had they used normal lights instead of white ones it would have given the room a warmer look. As other guests have pointed out, noise could be a factor especially those rooms facing the road. What was really disappointing were the bathrooms which were small, with no bath curtains, dimly lit and had a constant smell of sewage. The hot water and pressure was very good and one could soak in the tub. Service was good and the guest house is managed by a Vietnamese gentleman who is very accommodating and helpful. This could be truly boutique if they upgrade their bathrooms and add more greenery and trees around the property. Good for a short stay.

Located in quite near the center of the city. About 1 km to night market. Room is fully built using wood; it is bit small. Both room & bathroom were clean & steady. Care taking boy was really friendly & helpful. My wife was bit sick & he provided needed provision whenever we needed. Breakfast was in English style & it was good per Laos standards.

Really nice staff. Good breakfast with warm bread, eggs, butter/jam, fruit, juice and tea/coffee. Hotel rooms was beautiful. Good laundry service, gave clothes in morning and got them back smelling nice in the evening. Location was okay, 25 mins walk to the furthest temple, other attractions were around 15 mins. Clean but could do with some dusting. When having a shower in bath tub water splashes onto toilet seat, a screen of some sort would be good.

I stayed for four nights in this hotel before moving on to Vientiane. Location wise it’s spot on, right next to a great cocktail bar, near an ancient temple, shops and sights and cashpoints all easily walkable. The hotel is in a traditional Laotian style of architecture and is quite pretty inside, although the entry to the rooms is a bit narrow and a bit of a squeeze to get in to. Good beds and decent showers made the basics work well. Food for breakfast is fine though not excellent. The hotel manager is very friendly and helpful and on my first night I found it too loud so asked to be changed to a different room which he gladly accommodated me with. On my last night a spider was in my bathroom and I was a bit of a pathetic girly wimp and he came in and shooed it away so thumbs up for customer service. A decent place to stay if you’re not looking to spend lots but want to be very close to the ‘action’ of Luang Prabang.

From the moment I got off the plane, I feel the staff was incredibly attentive to all of my needs. They were super helpful in arranging my airport pick up in addition to helping me book a trip to the falls and a ticket for a bus down to Vang Vieng. The room was beautiful and served as a nice home away from home. Loved being able to walk to most of the sights I wanted to see in Luang Prabang. And a bonus to my stay was the delicious breakfast served with fresh fruit every morning. I highly suggest Lakhangthong to anyone visiting Luang Prabang!
