The title summarizes it all, and perhaps if there was a normal mix of travelers, I would feel differently. However, management has a responsibility for all guests, and they allowed the group to dominate the communal areas such that there were large portions that were off limits to me. I only write reviews if I feel strongly, and I do.... More

Friendly staff. Run by foreigners who speak English. Knew us by name on arrival. Quick service. No hassel, laid back atmosphere. Room was very clean and comfortable. Sat down with us and a map to show us fun things to do in Luang Prabang, areas to avoid, reasonable prices, and traveling advice--really helpful when trying to plan how to best... More

Clean pleasant friendly and convenient. Rooms spacious and with a volunteer house next door always someone to talk to - as a solo traveller you will never get lonely. Luang Prabang is a must go to destination in South East Asia. Kk's coffee shop on the doorstep is an added bonus.

I would not recommend staying at VM2. The room I had was large, but certainly lacking in furniture! It had a bed and glass fronted cabinet (instead of drawers I guess) and a hat stand but no wardrobe. I also had cockroaches in the room, but do appreciate these can be found in many places. The kitchen area was not... More

Pros: Room was large and well decorated. Considering I had air conditioning pricing was reasonable Cons: *Cockroaches in bathroom *No night lights, you will walk into things when you turn the overhead light off *Noise - you hear everything from the rooms next to you. My neighbors were playing music one night and it felt like I was in the... More

We stayed here for three nights. The first night, our room was so dark (no curtains, only wooden shutters) that we had no idea what time it was when we woke up! I still thought it was the middle of the night. The room was fine though. A few dustwebs here and there and the wardrobe in our room was... More

You get what you pay for in Laos and I made the mistake of staying here for a couple of nights whilst in between accommodation. I stayed in the cheap, downstairs room, (40,000LAK). However, for that money you can do better than this in Luang Prabang. My room was big, but damp, the bed was rock hard, sheets stained, it... More

We slept here at the end of December 2013, during our 8 days in LP. Big room (triple) on the ground floor with comfy bed. Clean. Bathroom ok but in the morning the shower clip broke and I had to pay for it. Overall recommended. The lady that gave us the room speaks very good English; she is very smart,... More

We came across this hostel looking for the famous Cold River Hostel which is further down the alley but it was three times more expensive that Merry 2. It was cheap (negociate) and clean. The rooms big and the bed super comfortable . Free wifi, filtered water, free coffee and bananas are available. There is hostel curfew but you can... More

This is a friendly two storey hotel. Our beds were very comfortable with duvets, the bathroom had its own separate shower and the whole hotel was clean to a high standard. Its location was great just 10 minutes walk from the night market. The staff were friendly, helpful and keen that you should have a banana or two for breakfast!... More
