One of the best hotels to stay in LPB especially if you are looking for peace and nature. The view is captivating, room is spacious and comfortable. I stayed for a week and enjoyed every day here. Food is excellent and service is a highlight. Recommended for solo traveler as well, very safe.
Recently stayed there with some friends and I highly recommend it. The hotel is located by the Mekong river with stunning views and a superb location to enjoy breakfast or sunset. We also must thanks Fabrice(F&b manager) and his staff for the service and their hospitality during our stay. Luang prabang is indeed a magical location in the northern area of Laos.
My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights, and we were pleasantly surprised with the hotel, and Luang Prabang. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with an amazing bathroom! The staff went out of there way to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Breakfast was a treat each morning overlooking the Mekong River. And one day we enjoyed the water buffalo grazing on the grounds.
The staff couldn't be nicer or more helpful. The view from our room was fantastic and the pool very refreshing (the water buffalo in the gardens were an interesting amusement). The breakfast could have been better but there was something for everyone, however the view made up for any shortcomings! The hotel is a little out of town but they put on a regular shuttle which is really convenient. Loved our stay here and would love to stay again!
We stayed at the Amantaka, Rosewood, and Grand Luang Prabang on the same trip. Between Grand Luang Prabang and Amantaka, we actually preferred the Grand, mostly for its beautiful setting by the river: so tranquil and lovely. The rooms were clean and comfortable. There was no body lotion in room. The buffet breakfast was also more than adequate. I would, however, stay away from the main restaurant for dinner: it was by far the worst meal we had in Luang Prabang.
You just have to stay at the Grand hotel. It overlooks the mighty Mekong. The staff is warm and fuzzy in pure Laos style. One of the best parts are the tame water buffalo. Yes , I said water buffalo that wander the grounds. You can feed them, you can bathe them. They meander about and are really massive beasts. Our family had the most wonderful time at the Grand. It is so quiet and lovely. Don't miss the artisan from local villages that weave their wonderful scarves on the grounds of the hotel. We have been staying there for many visits over the years and it is pure magic.
From the moment we arrived at this lovely hotel I loved being there. A beer and then dinner as we watched night fall over the Mekong was a further 'welcome' to the hotel and surrounds. The staff were warm and professional and gave assistance such as with the shuttle bus and later a sunset boat ride into town (4km). The shuttle is arranged so that going to and from town is easy. Thus Luang Prabang itself and the relaxation of the hotel can both be experienced. The restaurant was so good that we had breakfast, lunch and dinner there for our 3 days. The pool was a welcome addition and a good length for swimming.
I can only say that this is one of the most wonderful hotels that we stayed in. The rooms are very charming with beautiful decor and have amazing views of the river Mekong or their amazing gardens. The staff is very, very friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast served on the terrace overlooking the Mekong. The special touch is watching the buffalos roaming in the parts of the huge gardens. Another exceptional stay and can’t wait to be back!
Everything was perfect. The location is great, very good value for money, very good parking facility All the facilities were of a very high standard. People were nice and service-minded, especially at the concierge services.
This really is a wonderful hotel.Once you step inside, you immediately feel a sense of calm and relaxation. We had two night stay and from start to finish everything was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout the hotel. The rooms were great and the bed was extremely comfortable. WiFi was available throughout the hotel. Breakfast was buffet style plus a choice of a la carte dishes and everything was really tasty.
