I only stayed one night and it was quite busy in the restaurant with a group taking up the whole sunset view terrace. The room was nice. Next time I would take the room with the river view. It is not really a place to go to relax, more somewhere to immerse yourself in all of the activities they have. Food was great. Good in the shop were also great.
We stayed here on our last day/night in Luang Prabang and wow.. Everything from the staff, to the living arts center, to the restaurant ( THE RESTAURANT IS WONDERFUL!!!), to the rooms which are decorated with so much thought and love. You can tell that all of the staff are proud of the work they're doing and that they're happy being there. We felt spoiled with the tamarind welcome drink, the copious amount of water available ( NOT in plastic bottles) and the lunch and breakfast that we had at their restaurant on the Mekong was out of this world delicious. As far as it being a little far out, we felt like it was a perfect distance to borrow some bikes from the Hotel to ride to downtown. It didn't feel far, it felt freeing being away from the crowd. Don't forget to buy some things from their store , 10% if you stay at the hotel and I promise that you'll want some dream catchers and scarves.. Maybe some wall tapestries too. Thank you Ock Pop Tok, you've given us tourists a real gift by allowing people to stay in such a special place.…
I spent 3 nights in the Tai Deng villa which was stunning beyond words - beautifully designed decor (a very impressive poster bed and luxurious bath tub!) and your own personal balcony right on the river. The Centre is a hive of activity during the day and extremely peaceful at night, so you get the best of both worlds. The onsite cafe had the most incredible food. Free tuk tuk is super convenient and the staff really go out of their way for their villa guests. I also took part in a number of workshops which were one of the highlights of my trip in northern Laos. I would definitely stay here again in the future without a doubt!
Love Ock Pop Tok. Stayed four nights in Tai room. View of river is great. Balcony wonderful. Bed comfy. AC and fan. Food is terrific, fresh, flavorful. Staff are outstanding. Personable and friendly and funny. Took a half day class; fantastic. Used the tuk tuk several times to go to town or back and once ti Secret Pizza. Easy and accommodating. They helped arrange a Pak Ou caves with pick up at hotel, easy. Loved relaxing at the villa in afternoons after a morning or so in town or at the waterfall. Looking forward to our return!
This is a fantastic place not to be missed! It is everything good tourism and fabulous hospitality should be. Ock POP Tok, supports true crafts people and woman and works under fair trade, meaning that these traditional ways are supported and taught to the next generation and visitors alike. We came in a free tuk tuk, just to see the shop we were amazed by the quality of work and the gorgeous serene venue overlooking the Mekong. We couldn’t resist the wonderful cafe and joined a half day class in batik and dyeing. It is incredibly Speacial. Something for everyone and should be on top of the list when visiting Luang Prabang. Thank you
