The staff is friendly and helpful. Behind the hotel have a nice garden environment by natural of many kind of flowers with pond the guest can relaxing. From the hotel distance into the night market just 6 minutes 2.2 KM by hotel shuttle bus if the guest who can riding a bicycle the hotel prefer free bicycles into downtown from the hotel cycling go to the night market only 10 minutes by bicycles. 1. Need to spend 7 bucks a night, 30 minutes haggling with tuk tuk drivers and battling the cold when there is ample quality accommodation in the town centre. 2. You can't cancel for 7 days, so when you realize it should be priced about half it's asking rate, you can't go elsewhere. Ok the only other family staying there left anyway, presumably for the other 20 points. 3. No wireless in your room 4. No curtains or non see through objects to give you privacy when changing or other... 5.wireless in lobby is at dial up speed 6. No decent restaurants in area 7. No hot water for 2 days 8. No shower pressure 9. Insufficient lighting for reading or finding anything in your room without a torch 10. Their bath gel smells 11. When your in the toilet you have to tuck your feet in to fit

As a single traveler you sometimes don't know what to expect. In this regard, Luang Prabang was a mixed bag. It is not as untouched as described, capitalism is alive and well with solo travelers having to pay much more for transport. The Vangsavath Hotel lived up to my expectations, I was looking for a place that was quiet and scenic and I was not disappointed. The natural environment was inspiring and just what I needed, looking for a break from the hectic pace of Hong Kong. I had been assigned a room with two double beds, but the guy who works there was very understanding and found me a room with one bed almost immediately.
