It was our 5th time in LP ans have to say this time on our arrival we were met by the most increadible and hospitable staff..nothing was a bother to them. Villa Pumalin is steps away from the Mekong river up a side street of various guest houses. Its location is a little further out of the town then we normally would have gone for but with our walking speed of older people the night market is about 7 minutes the Palace and main street is probably about 10 to 15 minutes. Tuk tuk can be haggled for to 10,000 kip or about $1. We like to sit out on a balcony or patio in the late afternoon so had booked a room on the ground floor with patio. We were shown down what l would call an alley way. The room door was opened and then we realized this alley way was infact the 'patio' with no table or chairs. We were able to change for an upstairs balcony room, again the balcony was the walkway but pleased to say there were table and chairs per room but no privecy. Rooms are a reasonable size with seperate toilet and shower in the room. Shower has good pressure and plenty of hot water. However beds are extremely hard, on mentioning this to the reception staff in the morning by the afternoon we were advised that housekeeping had padded the mattress with blankets which did help considerably seeing as we were there for 8 days. Noticed most of the rooms only had one window overlooking the communal walkways therefore the curtain needed to be closed nearly all the time making the room very dark, my husband loved that called it his man cave. Only 2 plug points one being inside the wardrobe!! There is a safe in the room but ours wasn't attached to anything. A/c adequate but covered by wooden decorative work which did stop any strong flow of air. WIFI ok but often weak. Breakfast really really good the best so far in any of the hotels we have stayed in LP. Plate of fresh fruit, fresh squeezed fruit juice, Western and Asian choices cooked to order. Fresh brewed tea and coffee. Breakfast is served in a nice area infront of reception and is actually a pleasant area to sit in the afternoon if you can grab the comfortable chairs, note to management more comfy chairs needed there. There is a good sized spa pool open in the afternoon, unfortunately l was unable to use it as the step down for me as an older person was too far and no grab rails. In conclusion we have stayed in varying quality hotels in LP, l would put this down as a guest house with a homestay feel and would certainly be back for a future stay because of the warmth of hospitality and the good value for money.…
This hotel is very good what I am looking for staying. The stuff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good. Exactly I love this hotel. I will recommend this hotel to all my friends and I will come to stay with this hotel again
The best hotel ever. All staffs have very good service ever. 🥰 They all have very very good service mind. <We stay here for 4 days and 3 nights> Welcome drinks are so fantastic “local fruit drinks eg. Watermelon, lemon ,carrot & mango” This hotel is my favorite & my best recommendation.
Stayed in a triple room with two friends here. The hospitality was absolutely incredible, we were blown away! Room was lovely as well, and the breakfast was decent for the price. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to stay in Luang Prabang, great location as well!
