From the outset, the staff showed that you as a customer were valued. Located on the edge of the heritage part of Luang Prabang, this accommodation is walking distance to everything....night markets, day markets, the river, many many restaurants and cafes. Built with almost a romantic Asian style with dark wood shutters, the room amenities are modern and clean. The breakfast area which is between accommodation blocks is airy and the food is tasty and fresh. We were checking t our as we are bringing a group back to Luang Prabang in Sept/Oct 2020. It was a great choice

Friendly and clean. The room was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom had hot water in the shower not in the sink, so be aware. Morning breakfast was outside and pleasantly cool. There’s a rooster that sounds off every morning around 5 pm so if your a light sleeper or a late riser, something else to think about. Great location between both rivers with lots of restaurants and plenty of shopping.

Stayed over the Christmas period, lovely hotel, easy check in, room offered great balcony view over the gardens. Owner brought out croissants for breakfast on xmas day (nice touch).Location close to main street but really quite....apart from the Roosters in the morning who seem intent on waking everyone up at 4.00am. Would definitely recommend and wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Very friendly hotel in the centre of Luang Prabang. Easy walking distance to all the main historic places in the city, including alms-giving to the Buddhist monks at daybreak. I stayed here three times during my trip to Laos and enjoyed every minute of it. Customer service was excellent!

The rooms I stayed in featured air conditioning, electric showers, lockable coded safes, outdoor balconies, and we're very clean. The deluxe rooms at the back of the garden are more spacious and modern style. The rooms in the main hotel building feel slightly older, slightly smaller, and more traditional with lots of darker wood interiors. The beds were very comfortable with good quality sheets and pillows.

Breakfast is served in a covered outdoor area in the garden behind the main building. Fresh fruit, bread, good coffee, soup and fresh eggs cooked to order. It was a great way to start the day!

There are many guest houses in this town . Our stay was nice. Not much interaction with the front desk. People at breakfast did not understand English. Breakfast was nice . Room clean. Room 26 gets a strong charcoal cooking smell each day from the neighbors. Nice location ...

This hotel is perfectly located to explore the sights and sounds of the old town. Set in a lovely quiet location (we walked down the middle of the road!) yet withing easy reach of all the major sites, restaurants and the night market.
The superior rooms set back in a separate building are worth the extra cost and we'd recommend asking for the rooms on the first floor. The room was large and clean with a comfy bed. Good choice for breakfast with cooked options prepared for you.
Staff friendly and welcoming.

Villa Chitdara was located on a quiet street only a few minutes walk away from the main commercial street of Luang Prabang. The town is very compact, so the location was close to everything.

I had a room on the ground floor right next to the reception. The room was nice and clean. Discussions taking place in the reception could be heard distantly in my room, but they didn't disturb.

The front desk was always very friendly and helpful. I guess it was the owner who was there for the most of the time. He spoke good English.

Breakfast wasn't included in my room rate. Having it separately cost 50000 kip / person / day. It was good with eggs made to order, noodles, fresh fruit and toast.

The rooms have an overall colonial feel, with a dominance of dark wood. Rooms are comfortable with the option of a ceiling fan as well as air conditioning. The hotel is situated a 5 minute walk from the main street leading to the night market that has most of the bars and small restaurants.

This was my first visit to Luang Prabang. I initially chose the Villa Chitdara for my hotel since it was perfectly located in the Old Town. The rooms were spacious and clean. The aspect I liked most about the Villa Chitdara was the amazing staff. Koud, Sak, and Ming at the front desk were always so friendly, professional, and helpful. Koud was nice enough to inform me of sightseeing options. She helped me book a private tuktuk taxi to take me to Kuang Si Waterfalls, and also booked a taxi for me to the airport. Sak helped me with a motorbike rental. I had a problem with my shower one day and Ming quickly resolved the issue. I highly recommend Villa Chitdara as a place to stay while visiting Luang Prabang! Thank you Koud, Sak, and Ming!

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Chitdara. Our room was on the second floor and overlooked the garden. It was clean and quiet with everything we needed for a comfortable stay including air conditioning, a safe, comfortable beds, and hot showers. The breakfasts were delicious and served in a covered garden setting. The staff were friendly and helpful. And, the location couldn't be beat. We were a 5 minute walk to the main downtown street where there were a lot of good restaurants and shops plus the night and morning markets, and numerous beautiful Wats (temples to explore). The Mekong River was right around the corner from the guesthouse where we found several coffee shops and more restaurants where we could grab a drink and watch the world float by.
