Me and my cousin stayed at the Rose Hotel, Peshawar for a night as we were supposed to continue our journey towards Chitral on the next morning. The hotel is located in the busy Khyber Bazar and it has many really nice places to eat within its vicinity. Peshawar's famous Qissa Khwani Bazar is located at about 10 minutes walking distance from this hotel. The hotel has an old building with about 5 floors and it is important to mention here that it has no lift/elevator, so if you have problem using stairs you should definitely avoid this hotel or ask for a room at the first floor as there is no accommodation on the ground floor as it is used for parking purpose (not sure if parking is reserved for hotel's staff only or open to guests as well). The rooms were clean but the bed sheets and pillow-cover's could have been cleaner. Towel, soap and clean drinking water was provided as soon as we checked in and the room also had a TV with a cable connection. There is also free WIFI service with decent internet speed, however, the Wifi router was turned off late at night around 2-3 am (not sure if it is a routine practice). A room with double or twin beds can cost around 14 to 25 US dollars, depending on the number of guests and whether air-conditioned or not. The staff is friendly and helpful. This hotel also has a nice restaurant however it closes around 11 at night and opens around 6 in the morning.…
When I reached the hotel I was told that they currently don't accept foreigners. The friendly and helpful manager gave me useful tips for my stay in Peshawar and directed me to a cheap and very basic nearby hotel, where I stayed. I suggest you look around for other options.
Located a very crowded place with a car park it is a cheap place to stay if couldn't find anything else. The service is very slow and the rooms are fine but damp and dirty. It is very nosy coz of so much traffic on the roads out side. I will not give it a second try coz climbing stairs all the way to 3rd floor after a busy day was tiring.
have stayed here three times in 3 different rooms and the carpets were consistently in rotten poor condition .. so no matter when the bed and bath are ok and in a friendly and ‘secure’ place .. and an excellent location for food, take tea, the old city, the museum and just around the corner the wholesale market for Afghan rugs .. best buy in town.
I booked a room based on reviews in tripadvisor. First of all room rent is standard 2000 PKR and you can have other good options near this place. Smelly and dirty rooms, dirty carpet mattress and blanket. Room service not good. Only good thing was the AC in working condition and power backup.
