Place is cheap and the beds are comfy but don't expect friendly or helpful staff. Not to say that's regarding all of them but one in particular who doesn't even let you put your feet up on the sofa because it was touching the pillow, let alone smile. The breakfast is poor (literally just had rice and bread) but it's free. Don't bother having a chill day to watch a film because the power goes off hourly which means so does the Wi-Fi which gets very irrating. Apart from the cons, the place is clean and for the money it's not bad but one member of staff could be less rude and friendlier, not what you need when you're just trying to feel comfortable where you're staying.
Very nice, new hostel, staff extremely welcoming, this is a fresh blood in the stinky Mandalay accommodation market, where the established places only try to rip you off. Stood alone in a comfy AC dorm, showers are very powerful (not usual in Myanmar), huge breakfast brought from a nearby restaurant, water, soap, fast wifi, all included. Even got free ice cream on checkout and the price of my stay rounded down (while others try to rip you off by scammy kyat rates). On the top, very cute girls working downstairs. Would definitely stay again here.
Stayed here in an AC room - much needed in Mandalay during hot season- for a night. Rooms are comfy and big. Wifi is good and it offers buffet breakfast. Place is clean and quiet so you can get a good sleep. Staff are very helpful and speak excellent English. Just around the corner is the Moustache Brothers comedy show - worth researching and popping in.
Stayed here for 4 nights in a twin room which turned out to have 3 beds, room was a good size, bathroom was ok but the shower didn’t drain very well and was an all in one shower/toilet. They don’t clean or provide new towels at all during your stay. Wasn’t sure if this was a hostel or a hotel. It had a good social area but we didn’t find it to be the friendliest place. On the plus side there is a nice rooftop terrace where they serve breakfast and they provided free drinking water.
Stayed here for one night before going to Mandalay. Good value for the price with simple and clean facilities. Staff was very helpful with bike rental, bus ticketing and communications with the guesthouse at our next stop. Location 20-30 minutes by bike from the palace, pagodas and Mandalay hill.
I stayed in the dormitory for 2 days during my trip in Mandalay. The room is really clean and comfortable; the rooftop is nice and the price was reasonable. Their staffs were so helpful and friendly. Specially, they helped me to rearranging new pickup to bus station when the tuk tuk did not show up at last minute.
Loved this hostel so much. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The whole place is really clean and crisp and has a nice vibe. The pod style of the beds is great as you have so much privacy and can keep the light on for as long as you like! The rooms are massive with loads of people but it feels so private and isn't noisy at all. They also offer a tour of pretty much everything you need to see in Mandalay for only 9,000 from 9:30am - 6:30pm and is so worth it. The buffet breakfast was good too.
We booked a triple room with 3 single beds in the room. Huge and comfy. Room included breakfast but very limited. Nice view at the breakfast area and sitter on the roof. Friendly reception and they can arrange a FD tour and taxi services are available. FD Ancient City including sunset is about 9,000 kyat.
We slept in a dormitory, everything was clean and confortable. All the staff was friendly and helpful. We arrived really early on the morning, and the let us check in earlier. They explain us some stuff around the city. Four Rivers is a really good establishment. Good price, confortable and good staff working there.
Four rivers is one of the most popular hostels in Mandalay. It offers all you need: good cubicle beds, nice bathrooms, a basic breakfast (served early tho), strong WiFi and cheap bicycle rental (motorbikes also available). Location is not really a consideration when in Mandalay. Movies are screened in the lobby, which is nice for the more rainy days.
