Lovely experience in the heart of downtown Mandalay. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast on the rooftop was atmospheric and memorable and the hotel was close to many great restaurants. However, our room window was small and overlooked the side of another building, but we were fine with this given that we were staying only a couple nights. If you're walking, note that the hotel is a bit of a hike to the Royal Palace entrance and the Su Taung Pyae Pagoda.

Stayed here for 4 nights during water festival. Up-graded to a deluxe room. Everything worked fine, no problems. Basic breakfast on rooftop. We both ended up with stomach problems whilst there and we didn't eat anywhere else due to the water festival, but that can happen anywhere as we have found out.

We spent several nights in Hotel 8 and it worked out well. The staff spoke good English and were friendly and helpful. The location is very good with various restaurants within walking distance. Orr room had a fridge, TV and AC. The shower is one of those where you can’t help wetting the whole bathroom but we managed OK. Breakfast was buffet style with a reasonable selection of Burmese and western items. The price was very reasonable and overall it was a fine place to stay.

Cheap and cheerful. Hot water decent location, fine for a quick stopover. Rooms are clean, bathroom are Asian style. Can’t really ask for much more for the price point. Safe location friendly staff. Bring an umbrella!

Stayed twice in a span of a week here. Good rooms and very helpful staff. They arranged a trip to Inn Wa for me and helped with restaurant suggestions. Good breakfast on the top floor as well. Located close to the rail station and near good restaurants and shops. Good option to consider in Mandalay.
