Ok, probably the cheapest place in Mandalay with: free breakfast, free wi-fi and free water But it is a very dirty place ( our sheets were very dirty, also toilet).  We did a tour with them and it was terrible. The driver should be an English speaker but it wasn't. We didn't go to all the places that we should it. It doesn't worth 14000kyats. Staff is very friendly and helpful

The facility is old and not that clean. The pictures definitely look better. There is no extra shampoo or shower gel as the websites claims, instead there are certificates of excellence printed and hang on everywhere. The air-condition doesn't work during the day. Location is alright, breakfast is pretty good too. It's cheap. Stuff is nice.

Very welcoming staff upon arrival. As soon as we got to the room we had a lot of problems with our secure drawers under the beds. We had two hinges which broke off. In addition to that, we had a night lamp which was broken when we arrived. None of these were replaced og fixed in our 5 days stay despite it was promised to us. The complimentary breakfast on the hostel was not very good. It was completely tasteless and the amount served for one person was simply not enough. You only get what you pay for - not much.

Great people great location and breakfast included! Honestly fell in love with the place when I walked in the door! Such a welcoming place and quite affordable! If there was anything I’d change it’d only be one thing and it’s just the bathroom and shower set up but from what I’ve seen in Myanmar that is common here. When in ROme........ worth the experience and they have great tours available for great prices!

Before I write this , I wanna make it clear that I stayed here earlier before and i noticed the behaviour of staff among me and white people, but I ignored. But this day, I came from hsipaw, the area that was under rebel terror attack near pyin ow lin, the staff knew I'm going for two days, but cause of attack I was stuck 5+ days there and I somehow came from another routes. Well, the main thing is when I arrived it was almost late 12 o clock midnight , as my budget was messed cause of more days in hsipaw, all I asked was can I pay you the late check in amount for today night as logically I arrive midnight and it hurts nobody helping other for few khyats if they can't accept half day price but the staff didn't understand, instead of any help and even asking if I'm alright from the attack situation or I need any help, what staff did was told me to go and come at 4 o clock to pay less price as in their own country in this situation they were not ready to adjust for 3:30 hours? Well, but I'm sure if I was white person it wouldn't happen but yes I'm indian and I'm brown skin so of course racism takes over. But I'm proud to be brown skin and indian #JAIHIND ( well, I really appreciate that if you left some belongings in this hostel it would be safe and you can collect it back )

I spent 3 night in Ace Star, it has been a pleasure. The staff is adorable, dorms are nice, bathrooms are clean. The hostel proposes good tour for cheap. The breakfast include fruits which is a plus. You can do your laundry as you wish as there is a washing maching (only 2000 Kyat per use). I truly recommend to anyone spending time in Mandalay

Such a great hostel, very accommodating and friendly staff who can help you arrange your trip in Mandalay and give you local tips. The hostel is clean and comfortable, wifi is good and there is a large seating area on the roof. Only cons is no air conditioner during the day (they have fans) and no curtains on bed. Great central location, I will be staying here again.
