We stayed for two days and it was OK. Breakfast is fine. With 20 bucks, it is a good place. The room is a little bit small. AC is fine. Staffs need to be trained a little more to communicate better. It's recommended for a cheap price.

In this area in Mandalay you can find many hotels. This is one of the newer hotels with good and clean rooms. Air-conditioned, tiled floors and a good shower. We arrived late in the evening in Mandalay and did not have a hotel reservation. This was our 4th hotel, but we are very happy for ending up at this place. Staff was very nice and helpfull and they serve a very good breakfast on the rooftop.

This unassuming hotel, or more like guest house, I guess, provided a good base for our Mandalay leg of our Burmese adventures. The hotel is neat and tidy, and rises about 8 storeys up - with a basic restaurant up top - it provides a basic breakfast, and seats not nearly as many people as it can sleep. However, it does suffice for a quite bite to start the day. the rooms are neatly laid out and adequately set up. The beds are comfortable, TV and wifi connection are good - again, the TV's equipped with HDMI connection, so if you've got the cables, bring them along. Much like most hotel/guest houses we stayed at in Burma, the bathroom needs a bit of forward planning - it's more of a wet room, than our 'traditional' western style, enclosed shower and toilets - so be prepared to go to the toilet first, and then think about showering and brushing your teeth at the same time. Hot water was fine for my stay, however, my parents, a few floors above, had a tumultuous time with it - apparently a bit hit and miss for them. The only down side to the rooms is the over use of 'room fragrances'. To me, it just smelt like urinal cakes, but a quick chat to front desk and housekeeping, quickly saw the removal of these, and the room aired quickly - it also helps that housekeeping open the doors at the end of the corridor during the day, to ventilate the hallways - very pleasing to note. The staff at this hotel are extremely friends, as most of the people we encountered in Burma are. There is a school opposite, which doesn't really provide any distraction or noise - but do be sure to visit them, and donate a few dollars - we were lucky enough to take a tour of the school and sit in a few classes (I'm a teacher, and my mom went to that very school) A very interesting insight to Burmese education. There is a quaint local tea shop around the corner, which has the 'traditional' sweetened tea. Be sure to order that and some paratha (which was essentially my breakfast and snack every day) it's delicious. It's table service, and super cheap, for my parents and myself, for a bit of food, it cost us under $4USD. From memory, I think it was on 28th Street - but if you ask the kind folk at the front desk, they'll tell you where - as I did, to find my parents one morning...
