Worth every penny!! Not so expensive. ($10/ person/ night) Service is so good, staff are nice (most of Burmese people are nice people ^^) We arrived at 3am in the morning. The check-in time is 11am but they still offer us the rooms to stay. So we have kind of 1 extra night for the trip. Highly recommended for backpackers!!!

after reading the last comments I guess there might be a huge variety of rooms in this guesthouse. However, it seems I was quiet lucky when getting mine. The rooms were big and AC in the room worked perfectly. The location is near the Palace and very quiet. We needed to book 2 more busses from Mandalay and the Staff... More

If it wasn't for the staff I'd rate it lower. The room was a disaster, actually the worst of all I stayed at during my 10-day trip. I'm talking about a twin room with no window, full of damp and the noisiest aircon ever. However, the staff won me over! plus it's centrally located.

The staff are really friendly and polite always open the door for you. They were also very helpful organizing taxis and trips and answered all our questions. The first night we opted for a fan room (on the top floor) it was very warm worth the extra $5 for a/c and en suite.

The location is good and the price is good. Nice staff with good command of English Could had been better if the dining area is bigger but the breakfast is sufficiently good for the price. The room is basic but clean which is very good

Quirky place with some real character. We got bumped up to a family room (two singles and a double bed) even though we booked only a double room, which was nice. Our room on the ground floor was very strange in layout but very clean and tidy. Staff spoke great English and were very accommodating and helpful whenever we had... More

This was the nicest accomodation i've stayed in Burma (on a backpackers budget!) I shared a double room for 3 days with a friend for $10per night each (works out more expensive if you pay in kyat) Room was large clean and comfortable with lots of storage space. We had a look at a few rooms and picked the best... More

First impression : Nice reception, very polite and helpful staff The room : We have chosen the shared bathroom, ok it was neat and clean but the moist in our underground room was obvious ! Anyway, the staff didn't want we put our water bottle in their fridge. The breakfast : Pffff always this horrible sliced sponge bread and the... More

I stayed for two nights at this hostel and it was a nice experience. I asked in a few other places before Royal Guest House and all were worst, dirty and charged the same price. The staff was so friendly that without asking for it they prepared take away breakfast for us that had a bus to take at 5:30... More

very clever receptionists, (Myanmar) standard rooms no aircon (who needs it?) no bathroom at an average price, good position (on the 81st you can have an indian meal in the street food stalls). I had a room without window: good! no noise from the streets around!. a small terrace on the roof. only complaint: they use a room air freshener... More
