We ended up staying here a few nights and felt it was the perfect oasis from dusty, busy Mandalay. The gigantic, beautiful pool, spacious rooms and over friendly personnel make this little resort a comfortable place to be. As Mandalay has not much to offer, to my opinion, it is also nice to,just relax here for a day by the... More

Apart from visiting the palace in town, I don't see much reason to stay in the centre of the city. A short ride will get you to this beautiful resort. The rooms are bright new, large and have an excellent bathroom . Relax at the pool and have a charming dinner with traditional music, dance and a puppet show. Don't... More

The place feels as if the builders worked through a list of items a 5* hotel should have and ticked off all the boxes - but had no sense for style or charme. Large rooms with big bathrooms, separate shower and tub, balcony, pool, functioning pool-service, an open-air restaurant with good food, well-trained staff with above-average English-skill (for Myanmar). You... More

The layout and atmosphere was Chinese in style. Our room was exceptional; large and airy with beautiful wood panelling and top class bathroom and accessories. The food was a choice of European or Chinese. Lovely service but average quality food. Good breakfast though. Each night we had a delightful entertainment of traditional dancing and marionettes. I had such a good... More

We were here with a group, so the out of the way location was a plus rather than a minus as we had our own transportation. It was relatively quiet and had beautiful grounds that were very welcomed after the dust and chaos of Mandalay. The WiFi was slow, but that was a general problem in this region and we... More

Rupar Mandalar is a beautiful hotel, especially thanks to the new wing they've built where the rooms are all brand new with high quality furniture, woods, and myanmar antiquities. The swimming pool is very large for those who like to swim, and the garden around it is pleasant. The restaurant's food is okay, and the reception area & spa could... More

We stayed for two nights in this hotel. It is lovely, very spacious rooms done in teak, excellent facilities, swimming pool, good dining and breakfast. Staff are helpful but the reception staff could be friendlier and have a better command of English, some things we asked for were lost in translation. Otherwise a great stay, just beware the mosquitoes which... More

This is a gorgeous hotel with extremely spacious and very Asia-modern rooms with a perfectly well working wifi net. The bathroom was fantastic, the bed huge and comfortable and the fruit plate and water very much appreciated. A very nice pool and outdoor restaraunt with puppet show in the evening rounded off this exceptionally beautiful hotel. VERY highly recommendable!

We stayed at the hotel for two nights, as part of a 13 night tour of Burma. It provided a comfortable and stylish base from which to explore Mandalay and its surrounding areas. The hotel is beautifully designed and appointed in teak wood, almost to the point of feeling a little clinical. That said, the rooms, gardens and communal areas... More

This plush hotel is far from anywhere: it's located on a side road in a semi-rural setting. It would be almost impossible to hail a taxi into town, as very few pass by the hotel. The restaurant is expensive, uninspiring and unsatisfactory for vegetarians unless they are happy with pizza, pasta or chips. So we walked down the street a... More
