I really appreciate the service of Mansion hostel: clean room, friendly and nice people, good tours to discover the area, cheap price. But it's quite difficult for me to sleep in the evening because of vehicle's noise on street.

I stayed in this hostel with my friends in a four-bed room. The room and beds were clean. I wished there was a small table in the room though. The only problem was electricity failure which caused the lack of electricity to use, and yes, the air-conditioner in the room would not be working at that time. All bathrooms were clean enough for me. There is a shower (hot and cold) and toilet in each room. The water run so well. Anyway, you might feel strange that the shower are close to the toilet, but this is normal in many countries in this are of the world. (I actually wished there is a dry zone separated from shower zone, too.) Breakfast was nice. It was not a big meal that fill your stomach, but it was enough for starting the day. We have breakfast on the rooftop where we could see the wall and moat of the Palace. I thought the rooftop was a bar, but it was not. I think it might be in progress to be one. All staff were nice and helpful. I like them :) You can refill water from a water cooler anytime near the staff's counter. We bought taxi tours at this hostel: Ancient cities tour and Mandalay city tour. Also airport transfer (bus). They were so good and on time. (Our taxi driver named Roger. He was SO NICE!) This hostel is located on 26th street, opposite of the south gate of Mandalay Palace. You can walk to the east and find some nice restaurants there. Enjoy!

Location: its along the avenue right beside the huge palace. That already gives some picturesque views of the city. You can see it from the rooftop Bar for guests. (still on progress of becoming one, now more like guest social area). Rooms/Bed: You arrive tired and sleepy. You'll be led to a room where beds are as comfy as a hotel's. Towels and sheets smells so immaculately clean! You have your own light and sockets on your own capsule type space. It even has hooks to put your whatever stuff. And lockers below to secure whatever you are paranoid with to lose. Then curtains! To have your much needed privacy! Bathrooms: I'll put it simply, its probably the best hostel bathroom I've ever seen. Hot showers, and they are kept super clean all the time! Clothes rack, soap dishes. Yes, they exist on this hostel. Breakfast:Can it get any better? Not your ordinary hostel breakfast trust me! I was served watermelon slices, potato salad, a decent serving of curried rice, one big slice of toast and omelette! Other: Had to proceed to Bagan and wondering how I could get to the bus station.. They called their contact and i just hopped on it right at their doorstep. Same thing when I arrived from Mandalay airport! Price: The "WTH, are you serious???? " part. All that hotel type amenities and service, yet their price is the cheapest around Mandalay for hostels! Staff: Now here is the real gem of this place. This hostel is owned by a young lady who is as dynamic and welcoming as the hostel itself. She is well- traveled, so hey, surprise, she knows exactly what you need! Her staff is just out of this world friendly and nice its like they could get you hooked and you would just stay as long as you want.

It’s nice in general. Breakfast was very good, also rooftop is quite nice to chill. I recommend 4beds room rather than 6 tho. Staffs were helpful. They have reasonable prices for tours, they rent motorbike and bicycle. It’s not mingling type of hostel since they don’t have a proper lobby but they have rooftop.
