The Sousse Palace Hotel & Spa boasts a splendid atmosphere with its fantastic sea views, although some guests feel the entertainment and environmental practices could be improved. While the hotel's service shines in terms of cleanliness and professionalism, issues with staff attentiveness and friendliness occasionally surface. Amenities are generally well-received, offering clean rooms and private beach access, though some areas might benefit from refurbishment.
Its prime location is frequently praised, as is the hotel's overall cleanliness. Room experiences, however, can be inconsistent, combining praise for cleanliness with some dissatisfaction regarding maintenance.

Detailed Reviews
We only spent one night here, but we arrived before noon and were greeted by a most helpful staff who showed us the parking garage and collected our luggage and showed us around. Our room was quite comfortable with lots of wardrobe space, a balcony and a modern bathroom. The pool area is huge, as are the many lounges and there is a restaurant/bar area upstairs which overlooks the beach. Breakfast was a magnificent buffet, with so many options, including someone to make eggs the way you want them, or an omelet. The hotel is located right outside the medina, for easy access. We wished we could have stayed longer.

An oasis of calm and cleanliness in an otherwise noisy dirty but interesting
city. This venue is kept clean by an army of employees and they do a very
good job of it. Needless to say this hotel by UK standards is not five star
but nevertheless it's a decent venue and I would have no hesitation in returning. We were all inclusive and I was able to eat something I enjoyed
every meal salads , fish , chicken cooked fresh . There were also numerous
pre-cooked meat , pasta and the like dishes which all appeared warm as opposed to hot . There was more than a bit of canteen culture at meal times
and I got the impression that it was get them in and out as fast as possible.
The main client base appeared to be eastern European and they obliged
pile it high, waste most of it and get in an out in about 15min. Apart from one
other couple we were the only UK residents consequently due the language barrier there was no evening mingling between us and other guests. Entertainment was limited and this is not a party venue but somewhere to relax and enjoy in an excellent location for exploring. All the public transport hubs are within easy walking distance .Get the train to El Jem the metro to Monastir and the shared mini bus taxi to Kairouan . Visit the medina where
you can buy anything from carrots to chameleons and the varied interesting
museums .We found most Tunisians friendly and helpful especially the younger ones but remember there are mad men everywhere in the world and
stay alert. We thought that this venue represented excellent value and I have
no problem whatsoever in recommending it.

A lot to digest? Read an AI-generated summary of recent traveler reviews.
The room was amazing and also 10* for service with a smile and they go well over and aboard, well they did with me and my mum. The hotel is spotless, so is the beach, free sunbeds, we did tip some of them or just waited until we left the last day, you never felt obliged to. If you want just the relaxation of the hotel, go for it but Sousse, if you like shopping, which my mum does, well there is a really big market, haggle hard, if your not happy walk away and some will go after you for that price. Don't look them in the eye cos they will try and get you into the shop just scan the shop to see if your interest in anything. Beware a lot of people, mostly men, say they work at the hotel because they see your wrist band, do NOT believe them, just after money but if your hard skinned like me, just carry on walking, under like my mother who had to talk to them but she sees me walk off and she has to catch up with me. Don't bother going out at night cos there's nothing much. If you want better and strong tablets or anything else, the chemist are really good and cheap. Can't think of any things besides the hotel being amazing.

We stayed at Sousse Palace for a couple of nights & were able to leave our bags in storage when we arrived early.
Staff confirmed they had our booking but for some reason the staff who checked us in in the afternoon wanted to see documents from the booking agency. As he was arranging the room for us, he sent over some citronnade which was a nice touch.
The location of the hotel is very good & is a short walk to the medina & train station.
Our room overlooked the hotel pool & had a partial sea view. It was spacious, with ample storage space and loads of hangers. There was a kettle, as well as tea & coffee, which was greatly appreciated. There was a small bottle of water provided each day.
There was a hairdryer in the bathroom, as well as toiletries. These were in small bottles, so were not great for the environment.
The TV was quite small & positioned at the far right of the room, near the balcony, so it wasn't easy to view the screen from the other side of the room.
The pillows were kinda well worn & lumpy - not what you would expect from a 5 star hotel.
Breakfast started early at 6 am so that was good but the breakfast area was quite chaotic & staff were unable to keep up with making sure tables were adequately cleaned for the next diners, so it was all a bit grimey.
Fresh juices, esp the strawberry one was welcome, but there wasn't a lot of variety on the fruit offered, other than citrus fruit. The hot food section was very limited & poor but there was a range of cold meats & cheeses.
There was always a long wait at the omelette station & though there was a sign which said "crepe" at a separate section, staff shunted me to the omelette line, only for me to be told there wasn't any crepe available.
They did have freshly fried bambalouni though they were not dusted with sugar. We were pleased to see droo being offered. Probably the most ridiculous thing was the lack of spoons (other than small plastic spoons for drinks) for yoghurt, etc.
The most unpleasant thing about the hotel was being harassed about day trips by people who sat outside a shop. It wasn't clear whether they worked at the hotel.
One of them followed us to the pool to tell us about a medina tour & another person stopped us another time to try to sell a quad biking trip. They were fine when we said no but the hotel should have some kind of dedicated trip desk so queries about trips can be made without having hotel guests randomly approached.
Overall, Sousse Palace was a decent hotel but it wasn't 5 star, as claimed. The green credentials are poor when you would expect replenishable receptacles for toiletries as well as water coolers for water, & not the use of plastic spoons in the dining area.

We came from England and Sousse palace is a lovely hotel with great staff in a good location, the food is quite traditional but it does have some options that are more western. I would try to dress modestly outside the hotel as the locals can stare a bit if you’re wearing shorts and a vest top and if someone says they work for the hotel they probably don’t and will try to sell you things.
The staff are very friendly inside the hotel, Omar from La Vague next to the pool was especially lovely and we would like to thank him for his excellent service and friendly attitude.
Look out for Youssef in the hotel, who offers a variety of trips and excursions for a very good price. We went quad biking and it was the highlight of our holiday. Very well organised, safe and fun. Youssef is very trustworthy and helpful and even helped us to book our transfer back to the airport. Thank you Youssef!!

We stayed 1 week from 7th to 14th October 2023 as a couple on ground floor room facing the pool. Best things: The hotel is well placed in the centre of Sousse. Plenty of restaurants, shops and market. They have their own private beach with 2 guys as security man. Plenty of sunbeds on the beach as well as near the swimming pool. They have a heated pool indoor which is not heated. Hotel was clean and not overcrowded. Our room needs updating as the bathroom is in very bad state. TV did not work for English channels and we never used the TV all week. Our room safe was not working so they changed it for another. Fist night we arrived at 10 pm and there was 1 small bottle of water in our room. I requested for a kettle and extra bottle of water. Kettle was delivered but their was not cups, tea/coffee, suger so I had to ring again which was delivered nearly an hour later. They gave us cold sandwiches on the first night nearly an hour later.
Worse things: Reception staff have difficulty to understand English. Restaurant staff behind the counter making eggs, pancakes etc are not friendly at all. They seem to ignore guest when we want to order and specially the big guy and the short lady near the eggs station are chatting away in their own language non stop. Comparing to other hotels we have stayed, they need to train their staff to be helpful, have a smile (which cost nothing) and acknowledge guest. Other staff naming them Muhammed Ochera, Helmi and Nabil who looks after the tables were very helpful and smiling. The chap looking after the sunbeds and matts near the pool is either chatting away on this phone or with his mates. We and other guest had to help ourselves to open the umbrella, fetch matts the sunbeds.
We noticed that if you do not speak their language, French and or Arabic and you will struggle. Meals where almost same on most days and left overs food heated again and served on next day. They need to change menu and have less but fresh meals.
Overall, I would say 50% was OK to stay at this hotel.

Dear m0h786, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We take guest feedback seriously, and it saddens us to hear that you did not enjoy your stay with us 100%. What you described certainly does not meet the standard we set forth, and we are truly sorry that we did not meet your expectations. We would like to clarify that the young staff behind the show cooking station you are referring to are new, and that there is always a supervisor available to guide them or assist guests in case needed. We assure you that all our staff speak at least a 3rd language, aside from french and arabic. Regarding the bottle of water, the standard in our hotel is to put one bottle on arrival. Our room service is available 24/7 if you would like to order more water, food or other drinks. As for the missing channels, it could have been due to mishandling and we apologize for that, our maintenance team is also available 24/7, in case of need, to handle any kind of issue you may encounter in the room. Concerning our main buffet and food options, we are pleased to inform you that we have a new chef and a new menu. We hope to welcome you again for a more positive experience.

Personally i think that there are some inconvenience as the drinks and food are a very low quality. Lack of diversity also. As i saw here others complained about lack of water and coffee in the room ( my case also ). Honestly with a 7 days booked holiday with all inclusive i had to go to eat and drink in other places. I would say that the place is really nice, with private beach and if you choose a seaside view room is very nice ( that cost you 40 euros extra for 2 pers.). The two pools are really nice tough but the water inside pretty cold as the sun barely “touch” them. No complainings about the cleanliness, the rooms are cozy, and the rest of the staff really nice.

We didn't have high expectations about the hotel, but we were very positively surprised! Various food - very good, especially meat and desserts. The rooms were beautifully cleaned and neat every day. We are most satisfied with the service! The hotel staff was very nice, very helpful and smiling! We will remember the trip fondly thanks to them. The cleaning ladies, the beach staff, the kitchen staff, the waiters are always very nice and smiling. Greetings to the young bartenders from the beach who made the time very pleasant and made great drinks! You guys are great! We recommend :)

The only advantage of this hotel is the location, but considering the number of disadvantages it has, I do not recommend anyone to book it. The rooms were dirty, cobwebs on the walls, the same in the corridors, I had three huge cockroaches in the room! The plates and cutlery in the restaurant were also unwashed, the tablecloths had stains from previous guests, the food was monotonous, practically the same every day, bland and not very tasty. The ladies at the reception were not very nice, standing there as if they were a punishment. A beach full of pets and other garbage. I honestly don't recommend it.
