Got to the hotel late at night. Had our bags taken up for us. The workers of the hotel was so accommodating and understanding. We moved rooms three times due to my mum being disabled so the got her a disable friendly room. We couldn’t find food we liked but spoke to the chef and they made food especially for us. The entertainment team where amazing and friendly at all times, always trying to include everyone! The beach was just outside and a strip of restaurants and shops just outside. All round not a bad place to be! Going back in September!

Booked for 2 weeks from end of May to stay at Marabout. Lovely reception area when we arrived and were checked in very quickly. Downside straight away was when we paid reception the hotel tax, he said 42 dt I gave him 50dt and he never offered any change. We know it wasn't much, but it should be the customers choice to tip!!! Took 3 attempts to get a room suitable for the 3 of us (2 adults and a teenager), but once we were sorted the room was spotlessly clean and cleaned everyday. Beautiful view of the pool and beach. Be warned if you get a road side room the nightclub across the road will keep you awake most of the night, which isn't ideal if you have young children. But having said that Friday, Saturday and Sunday night we were kept awake until 4am by REALLY loud music from either a nearby nightclub or hotel. Pool area was cleaned down daily and bins empty. Again kept really clean. Small amount of green around the bottom of the pool, but guessing that's where it hasn't been used much due to covid! Always nice and cold, which is a bonus in the Tunisian heat. We never used the indoor pool and always seemed to have swimming lessons going on of some kind! To be honest I didn't think the water looked that clean in the indoor pool, which put me off. Slides are open periodically and not normally all at once, it was rare we saw them all on together. Music is played daily around the pool from 10am -5pm and the usual holiday activities take place like Aqua Gym, Darts, French Boules apparently, we never did find this even after asking!! Food was OK. Typical all inclusive dishes. We don't mind the food when go away as we pretty much know what to expect when we go all inclusive. Chef did include English dishes and was always asking us if the food was OK and that we just needed to ask if we wanted something cooked for us. Also the restaurant manager went above and beyond to make sure that we were happy at meal times. Food does get repetitive though. The grey hair guy who walks around the pool in white offering spa packages is abit of a creep. He had a thing for my niece and would not leave her alone pestering her to add him on facebook and asking for her phone number at every opportunity!! Even after me telling him to leave her alone he still hassled her. She went for a walk along the beach and he followed her asking her out and for her number!!! Because of him we WOULD NOT use the spa, which is a shame as we had decided as a family we did want to have half a day in the spa but he totally put us off. The guys who sale the excursions around the pool hassle you until you buy something off them too. We did Quads and pirate ship in the end. Quads were amazing we loved that, but the manager guy from excursions asked for a 10DT tip after we booked. And when we booked the pirate ship I tipped the guy at the time 10DT and then he asked my husband for another tip!!!! Pirate ship you DO NOT get drinks or ice cream you have to pay for them. They will give you a small plastic cup of water for free, so don't listen to the reps when they say it is all inclusive as it is not, you will get a plate of food which consisting of Tunisian salad, pasta, fish, chicken, bread and a piece of fruit which they recycle as we saw them putting them back into the fruit bowl if they were not eaten!! And to be honest we have been on better pirate ship excursions on holiday. Entertainment was OK. Had some really good shows when the animation team were on stage and the audience got involved. Second week was a little bit repetitive! Animation team is a new team and the first week were not really encouraging people enough to take part...we have been at other resorts where they have said over the loud speaker which activities are taking place and where and then someone comes around the pool/beach area asking if people wanted to take part. We were asked a couple of times, but needs more organisation to get guests more involved. Like I said French Boules we would of done, but we never found out where they were doing it...was told the beach area and we looked but could not find it taking place anywhere on the beach. Second week animation team were going around the pool area and interacting with guests, but in our group singled out the member of family who were similar to their age and the rest of us may of well not existed. Only ones who made an effort to talk to the whole group were DooDee and James. Even though we took part in dances around the pool and on stage, they still singled out the one person in our group to talk to. Last couple of nights of our holiday we did have more interactions with the team, but it was mainly the one person in our group they spoke to. Location is pretty good. Right on a white sandy beach with crystal clear water on a calm day some blue jelly fish in the water which are beautiful and never bothered us at all. Looking Lookie men prowl the beach as with every beach holiday, but they security time at the hotel are very good and don't allow them past a certain line, which is quite a way from the sun beds. We love Tunisia, this being our second time over here. But I would not personally go back to this hotel.

Firstly if you are looking for a 3 or 4 star English equivalent hotel, this is not the one for you. If you are looking for a good cheap getaway in beautiful weather then it was great. The room was clean and tidy. The Food was nice, although as we were out of season and not many guests, it was mostly the same. The pool was cleaned on our arrival and although still chilly, the kids loved the water slides, although some of them did hurt there bum. Swimming lessons did occur in the indoor pool, but only Saturday and Sunday and only for a couple of hours. The indoor pool was so hot it was like having a bath. The kids spent hours in here. We could not fault the staff, they were friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome. The security at the hotel was also good. The hotel is run down and dated. The surrounding area is also run down, with many hotels, discos and casino style building closed as well as some hotels. The beach is fantastic, although lots of the hotels are having to remove structures that they have build on the beach and did not have permission to do so. The tourist industry in Tunisia has taken a terrible blow during the last few years and it has a real affect on them. Yes the TV didn't have any English channels... - Watch TV when you get home. Yes the WIFI is patchy - Get off your phones and interact with one another. Not sure what it would be like in peak season, but for us it was worth the very little it cost us for a week in the sun.

I did not have a good experience in this hotel. Some negative things from there: The staff smokes in the corridors. The doors of the rooms were broken. (The gap from which you could see into the room) Fire safety seems poor. Noisy, disco nearby Rude, inattentive staff The indoor pool was reserved for non-hotel guests. when asked about it. I was lied to about using it. You pay for a service you don't get. A nearby barbecue eatery burns debris at night. The smell is in line with it. Some normal things there: Hotel food. Unheated outdoor pool The elevator was broken for only two days. Good things there: Location is good Beach My advice is to choose another hotel if you can!

Stop in winter is ok, simple room, enought space. The stuff in restaurant and house keepers is very helpfull and kind. No wifi in room or even reception lobby, TV just for refund, but possible. The hotel is also free to outside people to learn children swimming in indoor swimming pool cca 17-20:00. Also on summer is free as aqua park. The location is ok, close to Monoprix, nice beach. asy to go to city centre (cca 20/25min walks distance). Front part of hotel is not good, because of the laud discoteque on the other side of the street. Good for familly with children.

Read a lot of negative comments on here before I went and not sure what to expect The hotel was far better than I expected. The staff where where all great, friendly and helpful My room was at the back of the hotel but when I asked if I could be moved to room overlooking the pool, it was not a problem, I was handed rom cards and told to choose what one I liked. The food was great too, OK some of it was same everyday but always a good choose, chicken, fish lamb, potatoes, rice pasta and other things. I found rooms clean and big and daily maid service Great bars too all-inclusive one and one you pay for drinks plus all incluse bar near the beach the entertainment guys near stop and pool and beach are great The dinning room staff are very helpful always smiling and ready to help, my waiter Hawker would save me a table and get me drinks, saved lining up and at the bars the staff were great Asis, mohammid, and the rest Only bad point was the Internet but if you sit outside at the front of hotel or lobby you can get it I would go back again and again for the price you could not beat it, £250 FOR 2 weeks all incluse

I did not have expectations for.this hotel as it is 3 stars. But I expected basic standards and even that was not met... I'm honestly shocked at everything this hotel offers ... The staff are lazy and rude and don't want to help you unless money is offered.. we first arrived at marabout after 12 hour travelling .. nobody had helped us with bags we had to drag them to reception ourselves. When first in it was so dark and glum all of the windows were closed up .. baring in mind it was a boiling day.. the Aircon was broken and we wasn't even offered a drink ... We had 2 rooms between us and one wasn't ready and the other was .. taking the baggage to the room there is no access for wheels chairs or buggys. It's all stairs so you have to lift it down to get to the rooms.and restaurant .. the floors are all tiled so when it's wet it's dangerous and slippery .. the lift up to the rooms and small and 9 times out of 10 is broken.. we were on the 4th floor so had to go up stairs with two kids... We even witnessed a lady in a wheelchair wait 2 hours downstairs while they fixed the lift and even then it was broken. So my partners and other guests lifted her up the stairs ... The rooms are very basic ... No cups or cutlery . No toiletreses. No biscuits. Tea or coffee. No kettles .. around the pool there is no supervision what so ever the life guards just sit around on phones or sleep. On the slides they let groups of people down at a time and don't care if some one gets hurt.. from my balocony I could see the slides and they're was people climbing up the slides when they where closed... The music around the pool was the same play list played every day on repeat.. the sun beds you have to put out yourself in the morning and find mattresses.. the food was the worst of all for me .. in the morning it was the same crossiants .. didn't have onlette station .. the jucies and drinks and watered down and so sweet.. I bit into a roll and cracked my back tooth and had to go to a dentist to have it fixed which costs money ... The food has no variety all of us had food posioning from the food and ended up eating outside .. the entertainment is next to none. There is only 3 animation and they do nothing. No games. No dancing. No activities for the kids. They don't interact with guests. If the weather is bad they won't do anything in the evening . No music all the lights are turned off and closed till the next day. The hotel is also full of Russian guests that are rude and have no manners.. we went to the snack bar . One Russian lady pushed in front of me and try to take the tongs out of my hands . I said to her wait. She went and told her boyfriend and then he smacked my partner around the head and pushed my 2 year son over .. spitting at us. Swearing at us.. in the end they got kicked out of the hotel. I've never seen so many staff run to try and stop.the fight... Overall I won't go back to this hotel
