ITS THE SAME PLACE.
Cheap, lacking investment for years, great beach, bog standard rooms, if you’re lucky.
Bar very very noisy, not customers just staff who think that volume makes up for quality, until 2/3 am

Breakfast was really nice for me and the kids , for the rest was ok also but we eated a lot of time outside to try tunisian food .
Hotel is not first position , so we should go out to get to the beach but it's nice and clean .
Nice holiday we think to come back
Nice rooms with nice views , good food and correct service in the bar and the reception .
Worth the money we paid it .
However a warning sign needs to be put out to all females who visit the Karawan, especially the young girls that get taken in with all the nice words, and charm. I warned my daughter to stay away from the animation team..
I am shocked and gutted to say that soon became clear that the animation team, mainly ENZO were being too friendly to my daughter. I warned my young daughter to stay away from him and said it will be about money or sex.
Since I have returned from holiday my daughter has only just told me she SLEPT with ENZO, she is 15 years old, which is illegal in this country.
I will be making a formal complaint to the hotel, my daughter felt like she was special, I would like ALL girls to remember these men are PLAYERS and are RUTHLESS and they will do anything anything to get what they want, either money, phones, visas or sex..
Ok we have been to tunisia 4 years ago and swore we would never go back but money was a little bit tight this year and tunisia was all we could afford to do. we searched the internet very carefully fora good hotel and after carefull consideration we booked the karawan even though the reviews were not great. There were 6 of us my husband and I along with our 2 young kids aged 3 and 10 and our 21 year old daughter and her other half.
On arrival we were dropped off outside and no porters which was a pleasant surprise and no hassle. We were greeted at reception by the manager Mohamed who was very happy to chat with us and explained where everything was which was great. We got the keys for our 2 rooms and we needed to change both rooms as we had arrived early and the cleaners had not started their rounds so we asked for 2 more and were given them with no hassle at all but these were a bit too far away from each other so we asked for 2 more and was given 2 sea views on the 4th floor which were very clean with great views so after a bit of messing around we were finally settled and all was good.
The rooms were cleaned every day and mopped to a very high standard and the bed sheets changed every other day and our towels were also changed daily without fail.
The cleaners work very hard and were very friendly always smiling and playing with the kids.
The rooms were more than adequate in size and the decor was fresh with no marks on any of the walls etc.
Food was brilliant for Tunisia with a good range of continental breakfast and Tunisian elements and no matter what time we went down for breakfast there was always plenty and we even had fresh made crepes, omelettes and fried eggs daily. Lunch was great with plenty of choice if you are prepared to experiment with your taste buds with different styles of beef, chicken, pasta dishes etc. Evening dinner was better still with lots of choice including themed dishes with curries, meats, veg and different styles of potatoe dishes usual cous cous peppers etc.
None of us apart from myself are fussy eaters but I found lots to eat at all meal times and all the food was edible and hot. unlike some reviewers on here we are aware that we are visiting a foreign country and do not expect british food but found that our plates and bellies were full at every meal.
Pools were of a high standard but the odd tile could do with replacing but regardless of this the pools were inspected daily for contaminants and surrounding areas were also cleaned daily Mohamed constantly came round to ensure all guests were happy and that their needs were being met.
The snack bar was open all afternoon and consisted of pizza, chips, cornish pasties, spag bol and pasta, on the odd occasion the snack bar food was cold but if you watched for it coming out then it was hot and under cover constantly. If you got a bit hungry while having a drink at night the waiters were more than happy to cook a full size pizza for you and bring it to your tables.
Drinks were served all day and night from 10 till midnight soft drinks were coke, sprite, fanta and fruit juices and were all served cold and they used bagged ice if you wanted it in your drinks but we found the drinks were cold enough without.
Alcohol was gin, whisky, boukka, vodka, wines, cedratine and draught lager all served cold and contrary to what others have said the drinks never ran out for the entire fortnight although the staff did like to make rude guests pay which we found amusing and was a bit of a joke among the staff and the nice guests. We got them making cocktails all the time and be warned they are very strong.
All the staff were absolutely brilliant with us and often came over asking if we wanted them to make us anything and they would bring it to our table and did not expect anything in return only a smile and politeness. how they put up with some of the guests is beyond me as the guests were very rude to them especially germans and a horrible family from london we often saw the staff taking the mick with them which was funny.
All the trips sold at this hotel are great value for money and the team that sells them are fantastic although the camel trip could be better.
The beach is raked every night and was very clean and tidy and the staff only let you on if you are wearing the wristband they do not let touts approach you and remove them from the beach promptly. The beach is situated across a busy road but all you do is step out and hold your hand up and all the traffic stops for you and we also know how to cross a road so this was not hard for us. There is a noddy train on this road which can take you to the beautiful port el kantoui.
We paid £400 per person for this brilliant holiday and are planning on returning to this hotel next year.
There was a dog staying with a young lady and let me assure you it never pooed in any pool the cats mentioned in a previous review were not a problem and lived at the hotel grounds garden and were lovely although i do agree with the comment that it was seen in the snack bar kitchen a couple of times.
finally if anyone feels the need to complain about anything with this hotel you need to ask yourself if they have such high standards why would they book a 3 star tunisian hotel mmmm maybe they cant afford a 5 star which would be a 3 star in spain. my advice is that they stick to benidorm (blackpool with sun) and if anyone has a problem staying at this hotel then they should get their own head out of their backside.

On arrival we had to wait 45 minutes as our room was not available. We paid extra for a sea view (we couldn't have been further from the sea). Rooms floors were dirty. Towels even dirtier. We were on the second floor, Within minutes of opening the balcony, my 3 year old grandson climbed onto a low table and was hanging over the low handrail which had a big drop on the outer side. I asked to change room to one that had a balcony adjoined to the floor without the drop (which were many). I was told no as they had no family rooms ( 4 of us). When asked if we could get two separate rooms, the hotel asked for more money ! When asked to change our towels. We were given replacement dirty towels! The toilet in my room had mould on all corners with no fitting to hold the shower head. Room had many cracked floor tiles.
On the first night I stood on the door way of the hotel. A man approached me offering to have sex with me for money! When I repeated this to the hotel security, I was told not to go out a night as It was a poor area and known for gay activities.
One one occasion when showering in the morning the water turned brown.I reported this to reception and was told they where having work done and sorry for not notifying us.
The bed sheets hadn't been changed in 5 days and when I asked for replacements, The answer I got was "Why". when I said the sheets were dirty and id been lying on sand for two days. Answer " the sheets would be changed within half an hour". I went back to the room later that night to the same sheets.
I reported blood on the outer elevator door and interior. Cleaned two days later.
Animating team had one night of drinking fuel , sitting near kids and impressing them by spitting at a naked flame for the kids to feel the heat. Nothing for the kids for the following 5 nights except an indoor garage party, with plenty of smoke and loud banging music. Our last night was karaoke where the animation team when told we were going home the next morning begged us to give them rave reviews?
The only slide suitable for small children was dry, When asked to turn the water on, I was told no as the hotel didn't have enough small guests.
"The beach is beautiful and the water is warm, it is lovely to go for a swim And remember your not in Europe so don't expect what you think!!"Read full review
