Detailed Reviews
I booked last minute for this hotel for a week and loved everything about this hotel all the staff in this hotel are 100% genuine which can be rare for a Tunisia hotel no waiting around for tips.
The rooms are large spotless fridge included can be filled from the bar at a charge.
Animation team these get everyone involved on the activities and being disabled this isn't a problem at all with them they are always on hand to help.
This hotel I would advise 100% book it you won't be disappointed in any way at all

Vacation which we spent in hotel El Ksar were our first in Tunisia. We stayed for 7 days in a two-room apartment with two bathrooms. We were very satisfied with the standard. The room was cleaned by the service every day. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the hotel was partially available to the guests. However, there was no need to have more swimming pools opened because there were around 60 people at the hotel during our stay. 4 swimming pools were available – one with water slides, the deep one, paddling pool for children, and one with a depth of 120cm. Sunbeds on the beach and around these pools were generally accessible. The beach, which had a wonderful sand and a gentle descent to the sea, was cleaned every day.
Meals were diverse and tasty, and you could try something different each day. Alcohol in bar wasn’t fake, coke was certainly original and wine was excellent. The waiter, with a big smile on his face, made sure that our glasses were always full.
Anyway, the best that happened to us was meeting all these wonderful people working in this hotel! Animators were able to encourage our participation in different games and activities without being intrusive. They were able to unite all the guests together so that we all knew each other. When we were about to leave the place, our daughter was very upset to say goodbye to the best children’s animator Najwa Gigi. Thank you very much for these wonderful vacation and see you next year!

The hotel is away from the medina, it costs 3 euros by taxi to get there or a 30-minute walk.
At the end of May, the start of the season, the hotel is not fully open.
The swimming pool closes early at 6 p.m. as does the SPA.
We did a scrub and a hammam, staff not professional at all. Not taking care because the staff is not trained.
The room and maintenance staff are adorable and make sure you don't miss anything with little touches (flower petals on the bed)
Much less helpful at reception though. You will need to leave a deposit for a TV remote and beach towels.
Many rooms have single beds so you have to stipulate that you want a double bed and not two single beds joined.
The room is large as well as the bathroom. Nice little fridge.
Balcony with nice sea view.
The big downside of this hotel is the quality of the food. The buffet is always the same and the quality is closer to that of a canteen. Only 1 restaurant with opening hours that are too short (closing at 9 p.m. in the evening)
Few local dishes and poor quality, we preferred to often eat outside.
Fruit juices are powders which is a shame in a country like Tunisia where oranges grow in abundance.
At the bar, the alcohols are brands made for the hotel and they are very diluted.
Little choice. No possibility of snacking during the day.
Few French people in this hotel.

We have just returned home from Tunisia. On our way home our flight was delayed so we had to stay in this hotel for one night.
The rooms we stayed in were very outdated and basic. Nowhere near a 4* - possibly more a 2* room. The room was a 4 person room (only 2 of us though) but I would say the room size was large and enough room for a family. Bathroom was disgusting. The shower was in the bath and the shower head wasn’t at the end of the bath..it was in the middle so you had no room to move. Lots of mould/limescale all over the bathroom and it was very worn and tired. Needs a whole new bathroom to get it to the standard of a 4* hotel. Unsure whether they have refurbished some of the hotel as some photos online show a hotel that looks a lot different to where we stayed - if you do book I’d definitely be asking that question and asking for a refurbished rooms like in the photos online.
Hotel reception looks quite grand but it’s very dark. We did arrive at 2am though. Staff did have us unexpectedly with short notice but there could have been a bit more organisation considering they had to check in 180 people at once. One couple were given a key to a room, went in and there was already a family in there. It’s the last thing you want when it’s 3am and you’re tired. Also staff were refusing to give us water for free when we arrived. We didn’t have any currency left…only a bank card which they wouldn’t accept. It did cause a bit of conflict with some very unhappy guests but it did get resolved.
Corridors around the hotel are not fit for purpose. Stained carpets, cables hanging out of plug sockets, cables hanging out the lift, outdated furniture and walls that are half decorated. The lift is a danger itself and it made me nervous every time we used it!
Pool area looked lovely though and apparently the beach is amazing but music was blasting out before 10am so lucky that we didn’t need a lay in!
Food wasn’t great and it was much better at the hotel we stayed at for our holiday (Tui Blue Scheherazade). When they are cooking it’s full of smoke and you will end up smelling of food constantly. Also not a lot of choice compared to what we we had at our hotel and that’s also a 4*. Cutlery trays were filthy and we also saw a chef carrying chicken before lunch and feeding it to a cat presumably on the way to the kitchen?!
Overall it isn’t somewhere I would ever visit again. It definitely isn’t a 4* hotel and I’d be disappointed if I’d had to pay to stay there. But it has got potential, it just needs refurbishing!

We had a 2 week family holiday from 19th June to 3rd July 2023 at this resort.
The airport transfer was fairly quick and check in was easy. Registration form to fill out for each member of family and a resort tax to pay for adults before you were given your key.
Our room was basic and in desperate need of an upgrade but it was comfortable enough and clean enough and we didn't plan to spend much time there as we wanted to be busy. The air con was very old and very inefficient and this system is all over the hotel. Some rooms and areas have been updated but the air con has not. Thankfully, we weren't there at the hottest time of the year so it was bearable.
The staff at the hotel we're wonderful. Having 2 children (10 and 8) we spent our days by the children's pool. Slides operated between 10-12 and 3-5 with always 2 lifeguards on duty (Mohamed and Omar, thank you). The Animation centre was also next to this pool and the wonderful team (esp Gigi and Mary ) like clockwork invited the children to join in the daily entertainment programme. Happy children and much needed respite for mum and dad.
Breakfast finished a little early for being on holiday so we actually only had breakfast 3 or 4 times over the 2 weeks in the restaurant but the beach bar did 24hr snacks and we were able to go down when we were ready and get croissants or pain au chocolat from there.
Poolside snacks (pizza, sandwiches, chips) started at 12 and lunch in the main restaurant at 2.30.
Dinner service started at 6.30.
Very busy at the start of service and we preferred to wait until mid way through when it was more relaxed and had quietened down.
The food was perhaps not always our preference but at every mealtime there was at least 3 or 4 items which suited us and we certainly never went hungry.
Overall, we had an absolutely amazing time and we left talking about what we would do the next time we went back.
Thank you, El Ksar for a wonderful holiday.

What really needs to be replaced are the shower fittings and the carpet in the hallways.
The large pool area is clean and beautifully laid out. The beach is cleaned every day and the beach mats are made available immediately (even without a tip)!
Never experienced the animation team also organizing the evening program. It's amazing what the young people put together - from fire shows, foam parties to karaoke, everything is there! Everyone is super nice and great with the children.

RoomWe had a quiet room - facing the sea. Room was perfectly fine. Bathroom OK - shower fittings need replacing
SecurityWe felt very safe in the hotel and on the beach. The taxi ride to Médina Sousse was also no problem.
Food and drinks - very varied selection of dishes - large salad buffet We enjoyed everything very much, we can't complain!
Worth mentioning: I've never experienced the animation team organizing the evening program. It's amazing what they put together - from fire shows to karaoke, they have it all! Everyone is super nice and great with the children.

Such a lovely friendly resort, the staff were so lovely & friendly, the food wasn’t hot enough but then we always managed to find something!
rooms were kept clean beautiful view of the sea & pool
Entertainment was what you would expect with the usual touring shows/mini disco/bingo/plus other little shows that were fun. I personally got involved as the Animation team were quite good and tried to get everyone invloved. Big thanks to Sam and his team.
Thank you you El ksar Resort for making our holiday so relaxing 😎

This hotel has a very good location, directly on the beach, 15 minutes to the old city and 15 minutes to Port El-Kantaoui. Within 5 walking minutes there is a lot of shopping malls, Restaurants, Cafes, Bars and Supermarket where you can enjoy the great local food and make shopping.
The service was great as well all the staff was friendly and helpful. Check-in and Out was very smooth.
The food was great and the menu changes daily, if you are in diet i suggest you don’t book all inklusive otherwise you will destroy your diet 😅
The room was clean, well equipped and the beds were very comfortable.
The greatest thing was the entertainment team, they starts the activities from 09:00 and they finish the daily program around 23:00 😳 so you and your family will never be bored.
What we don’t like is that the pool sometimes is full and we couldn’t reserve a place ☹️ They said “sorry, who came first served first” 😒 and we think that they better add some slides that it makes it funnier for the kids and for us.
All in all it was a great vacation and we recommend this hotel.
Thanks for all the staff and definitely we will see you next year.

The WiFi wasn’t always available and quite slow when you did get it. And the beds were solid and not very comfortable. However there was many good attributes
The food from the restaurant had such a large selection, from the salads, sauces, hot foods, breads and even the deserts. The deserts were to die for. The rooms were clean and every day the beds were made and had very quant designs. The cleaner was very nice and had helped keep our floors mopped like we had never entered the room in the first place. The activities was great for both adults and children; there was something for everyone. The staff was very friendly and energetic and brought life to the place. The hotel itself had a very calming atmosphere and had these paintings where you could tell they were hand crafted with precision and were placed in the hallways of the hotel rooms. The lobby was quite calming and had dim lights. This may not be everyone’s cup of tea but I found it quite relaxing.

Yet this Pension has real potential. The rooms are not maintained, the bathroom requires work the beach is practically in the Pension and quite nice.
Do not rely on the photos of the rooms on the website because they do not concern the whole Pension, we were slide coast and therefore these are the old rooms.
No hygiene standards. I stayed 1 week, my stay was expensive and yet I did not get the benefit for which I paid. I thought I was in a Pension and not in a campsite doing my cleaning
I spent my stay demanding air conditioning in the children's room and nothing.
Actually a tip is if you want and at the end of a service if you're happy. There is simply a tax, racketeering...Don't forget your shampoos and shower gels, the Inn does not provide them!! Same for finding a table clean at the restaurant. Tablecloths are not changed but shaken and turned over. It's better not to put tablecloths, it would be more hygienic. You have to call them 36 times to put cutlery on us. Lots of reserved tables. So tips... Difference in treatment according to the origin of the client (being in addition of Tunisian origin I felt very badly received and almost got in hand with the waiters)
The catering is always the same and not much for a Pension with so many guests. Beverage dispenser nozzles are not clean. Tails for everything and everywhere.
I have been going to Tunisia for more than 20 years in hotels and unfortunately it gets worse every year
Certainly I will be told that we pay for this service but in summer the Awards become similar to a holiday in Asia
I think there is a real questioning because it is not with Eastern customers that tourism in Tunisia will develop in quality
Unfortunately I no longer know if I will go to the Inn in my home country but rather rent houses because maybe I will find myself there financially
