Detailed Reviews
Decided on a week long all inclusive EasyJet holiday package to Tunisia and stayed at this hotel for a week in August
The beachfront location was exactly what we wanted
Several outdoor and an indoor pools complimented the warm Mediterranean
There was plenty of choice at meal times and although I have a couple of "picky" children, they could always find something suitable to eat. For me, the choice was great and plentiful at all meal times
All inclusive also meant drinks and although no premium known European brands there was also plenty of choice
The room we had was pretty basic but served a purpose and was cleaned every day - towels were also changed every day
Overall a really nice, relaxing beach holiday with very attentive hotel staff
What made the week extra special was the animation team - they were all fantastic!
Not everyone will want to get involved in daytime and evening activities, but if you do, then you can't get better.
Always something going on. Karaoke, beach boules, beach aerobics, singers, dancers, you name it, they had it
I have to give special mention to all the team: Amin, Marco, Momo, Mario, Panda, Damin, Rafael, Spiro, Sousou and Looka - they were all fantastic..
Thank you for a memorable holiday

The hotel is located in the center of the city however once you enter the hotel you feel you are in a very isolated and peaceful holiday resort . Hotel has very nice walking path surrounded by beautiful trees .There are many pools available including a big one with waterslides , and another big pool which is sea water . It has very nice beach with a beach restaurant called solysombra . They serve amazing food and drinks while you profit the beach . Restaurants are clean and the food is good and various . We had a holiday more exclusive than we can imagine. First of all staff is very helpful and smiling all the time. They try to make everyone feel special on their stay and they are succeeding as we’ve seen. The way the coronavirus is being handled is great, lots of safety measures in place, so felt very safe .

We were unsure about booking in April as the weather isn’t guaranteed and the weather was disappointing. However, the hotel was great and more than made up for the lack of sunshine. The hotel was not totally open as it is low season and tourist numbers in the resort are very low. Walking around town we felt quite exposed as there were so few tourists.
The spa was very good value indeed - massage and hammam package over 2 days was £180tnd.
The hair and beauty salon was basic but did a good pedicure. Poor quality varnishes and no gel polish but very good value for services. Hair braiding and henna tattoos are also good value and looked great.
There are lots of activities available all day and whilst you are encouraged to participate, they will accept that you are too lazy to join in! The evening entertainment is very international and people from all nationalities are catered for. I did notice that lone travellers were made to feel very welcome and looked after well by the animation team. I would certainly travel here by myself. Special mention to Momo, Andre, Gringo and the rest of the team for their hard work!
The outdoor pools are saltwater and this is really nice. The sea is very shallow and the beach has the softest sand. I would recommend this hotel for young families as the pools have shallow areas for small children, and for relaxing but also the water slides which were great fun for us!
The service in the bars and restaurants and the food were excellent. The quality of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks was very high and many branded products - e.g. Coca Cola and Fanta. Unlike other all inclusive resorts, drinks are served in nice glassware and of the right size!
The service was excellent, a special mention to Bengacem who somehow managed to have drinks ready for us before we even knew we wanted them!
Restaurant food was good quality and very varied with different options every meal time. We certainly are far too much during our stay! Only the main restaurant was open during our stay. I am sure it would have been even better if the other places had also been open. My son has very restricted dietary requirements and was mostly able to find something to eat at every meal time which was amazing!
The only downside was that there was a little too much sharing of serving utensils and so too much cross contamination (e.g. ham and cheese used the same tongs) so not ideal for vegetarians or people with allergies or intolerances.

We visited the Royal Saleem in the last week of June as a family of 4. So based on the complex alone I would say this place has the most hard working, amazing staff I have ever experienced in the world. From the waiters/waitress (Jamil was amazing with our boys) , cleaners, wonderful bar staff in the reception area, wonderful waiters on the beach, animation team and cooks , they non stop work their backsides off. We tipped a few dinner here and there because they absolutely deserve it. Ok so now to the rooms, the rooms are spotless, the maids cleaned our room everyday. One of my sons got sick from the heat and a mixture of things, the maids were so understanding and sympathetic and were straight in to clean everything up, changing the beds , mopping the floors, laying new rugs. Honestly wonderful. My only issue was the showers were very dated, they didnt hang very well and on some days went hot then cold. The day time and evening entertainment were fantastic, we especially loved the mock whitney 😂 The animation team can take such a simple concept and make it so much fun. We loved aerobics in the sea with the boom box. I think the music around the pool could be a bit more dated and also it would be nice if it was left on whilst the team are on their breaks and just in general through the day. So that brings me to the pools. We wanted to be around the main pool where the action was all the time but it is salt water and no matter how hard we tried , we just couldnt get used to it. I cant help but feel this place would have so many more people return if all pools wer chlorine. So onto the food and what I am going to say is with respect for Tunisias cultures, religious beleifs and traditional cooking. It really could do with some work. The hot food just wasnt hot enough and the cold food wasnt cold enough. They had some beautiful mixed salads and fantastic concepts when it comes to the food but everything was just swimming in way too much oil for my personal taste. Breakfast we stuck to pastrys, cheeses, boiled eggs and toast. You will not get any kind of pork here as it sits with their beleifs. We expected this anyway. Puddings were very samey. The best meal of the day was always lunch served at the beach bar/restaurant. We loved the pasta chef in the main restaurant too. He was a lovely gent. The beach is very well looked after and the security are on the ball. The guy selling the watersports was so friendly too. A guarantee you will never find such hardworking amazing staff anywhere in the world like you will find at the Marhaba Royal saleem. I wish we had of booked 10 days instead of 7, we are very much missing the place and the staff .

I do not normally write on trip advisor, but just felt I had to this time. I cannot express how fantastic this hotel was it was clean accessible pools were fantastic. But what really made it were the staff. We were in room 369 and the cleaning lady for my room was brilliant she cleaned it daily changed the towels daily and left lovely fans and swans made out of bedding and towels and my Pjs on the bed it was lovely walking into the room after we had been out. Then there was our dinner waiter, he made us up our table each evening and was always on hand and never kept us waiting for anything and the food was fab. He was extremely friendly and professional his name Fedi and he provided a fantastic service we couldnt have asked for a better waiter Thank you Fedi. Then there was the bar staff Mokhtar our evening bar waiter we had great fun with him and as soon as he seen our drinks getting low he was over to refresh them he was a very pleasant, friendly and easy going and hard working waiter we loved him. There was also the entertainment team who were around all day and evening especially Momo he was fantastic always there for always ready to help and made things happen, we asked for a foam party and he made it happen, the kids loved him he even taught my eldest granddaughter to salsa she loved it. he was very chatty, friendly, funny and helpful we loved Momo too. it was so good none of us wanted to go home, so we have decided to go back next year hopefully we will see them all again. Marhaba Royal Salem you should be proud of your hotel but more proud of your staff. All of them do really go the extra mile and make you feel so welcome and important.(B. Austin)

My fiancé and I stayed at the hotel for a week.
The hotel itself is adequately clean, modern and stylish. The staff are very helpful and welcoming.
It was our first time visiting Tunisia, we were unsure of what to expect but it has been such a lovely experience.
We didn’t use TUI for our excursions and we paid to go on a few with the locals.
The hotel is in a brilliant location which gives you the opportunity to explore a number of popular tourist destinations which we did and enjoyed.
The security of the hotel and Sousse on a whole is high and taken seriously, they often stop check people and cars.
Our room was cleaned every day and we had no complaints.
There is an animations team at the hotel which try very hard to gain peoples attention and they are very polite. They host the day activity and the evening entertainment and it is to a good standard. We got up and had a boogie and tried the day activities. The activity team will try and pressure you in to activities but will accept no for an answer. This is common in Tunisia as a whole.
The beach is great and the lifeguard/security staff are on hand to help with getting what is needed.
The bar staff are on hand to re-fill your drink and they watch to see when you are done/ need a new drink which was helpful.
There is a small shop which we bought souvenirs from as well as some cheap tobacco and some toiletries. All very good prices.
The pool inside the hotel was a warm and a pleasant swim. The outdoor pool was too cold for us at this time of year.
We would book again! Really nice experience.

This was our first visit to Tunisia
From the time we got into our taxi we found the Tunisian people to be helpful.
We arrived an hour late due to flight delays.
The young guy at the reception told us to get some food before we checked in as the restaurant was closing soon.
Check in was quick we were offered the choice of 2 rooms both high standard.
We opted for the one in the main building which had an amazing sea view.
Breakfast first morning was rather busy even though we were early. Bit like school dinner hall but not a big deal.
From then we opted for the restaurant which offered eating outside much more to our taste. Freshly made food of a high standard
The staff at this restaurant were brilliant
James.,Armin and Marwood heave to be mentioned. We went there for the rest of our food as it was so good
The Chef was a happy guy nothing was to much trouble for him from omlette to doughnuts.
The animation team good bunch
Panda and Momo friendly young men
The guy who did the yoga and water airobics worked very hard and kept people active. In the evening before dinner we sat in the main reception bar the staff were also very attentive and never waited for a drink
Mohamed was on point every time we ran empty. Only thing is the ice machine broke twice but that wasn't staffs fault.
Our room was kept spotless every day cleaning staff always working hard to keep hotel spick and span.
Most of our days spent at the beach where the guys there made sure it was clean
We were down early but beware some people put towels down and don't show up till after lunch. The waiter at the beach bar was also forever buzzing about keeping drinks replenished.
The only down side for me is that the hotel was a bit isolated with not many bars and restaurants in the area (good job the Hotel was so good)
A taxi ride to Port Al Kantoui is worth a look as is Monastir the taxi guy we had took us and waited brilliant service.
Don't go to Sousse Medinia if you can help it hassle from start to finish. Our taxi driver appologed for the way we were treated
To much Blablabla was his words.
We had an early pick up so the guy mentioned earlier made us a packed breakfast the night before
What brilliant service.
I would have no hesitation in recommending this place for a holiday
The Tunisian people we met were some of the nicest people to encounter on our travels.
We'll done Tunisia

We are heading towards the end of our two week stay here in Tunisia.
When we arrived in was very quiet having only recently reopened to international guests following the pandemic. We were offered to move but had a good feeling and I am very pleased we did. The staff are what makes for a memorable and enjoyable holiday when you have kids and the staff here are superb. The animation team, waiters, restaurant, pool staff, cleaners, reception and everyone else have gone out of their way to make us feel welcome and our children special.
The shows on an evening are great fun, one in particular was hilarious and I will remember for years to come. During the day there are plenty of activities such as French bowls, darts, table tennis, fitness etc. The combination of indoor and outdoor pools is good and despite it being early in the season and the outdoor fun pool still being a bit chilly the kids (and parents) have loved the slides, a ring inflatable down the yellow really is great fun.
The maintenance team were actively employed and tidying up the paths and some paint work which was good to see and the gardens are clearly well maintained, the complex is large and the outdoor space is beautiful. I would mention at this point that the paths are probably not really wheelchair friendly as they are uneven in places but a pushchair would ve fine.
The food is plentiful and varied despite it being early season, we were told later in the year more places are open offering a wider variety of snacks during the day.
Special thanks to Amin, Momo, Gringo, Marco and the fastest drinks waiter in the world Belgacem!

This hotel is trying so hard to please everyone and it shows in the attention shown to the cleanliness, service shown by all the staff from management to cleaners to gardeners. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Bottled water is freely available . Animation team do not hassle you and the large pool is the place to go if you want loud music and to join in activities. The beach offers a snack bar and quite activities like yoga and aqua aerobics. Volleyball and bowls are also available.
The restaurant offers plenty of choice and live cooking stations are plentiful. You are allocated a table for evening meal with a choice of two sittings. This means you have your table every night waiting for you when you go for dinner no wondering around looking for a table. The cleanliness of the communal areas and toilet facilities are spotless. The Tunisian drinks are ok but international drinks are available for a price.
The gardens are well kept and pretty to walk through. Pool towels are free with a returned deposit.
Rooms have no kettle but you can hire one at reception 30dt . Hand soap and shower gel are in the bathrooms in large dispensers . We enjoyed our stay and will return again in the near future.
The hotel is positioned between Sousse madina and port el Kantaoui which can be reached by walking along the beach or taxi 10dt for trips out to see other places.
