If you look for a budget hotel to spend your summer, you can stay in this hotel and if you looking for private beach, you can ask them as in summer they could have private area on the beach. It's not recommended for foreigners totally to use this area of the beach and better to go to one of private operated by chain known hotels such Hilton or Sheraton or Palestine Hotel which are closer to the hotel and more safe. It's very good to stay if you will spend just quick night, but not sure if will pay value of stay or not as sometimes their rate is extra expensive & it's far from city center.

Location is the best in Alexandria.. Just opposite to the Cornish and very near of Al Montazah Area. A lot of local restaurants behind.
Big rooms but poor and old furnished. Bed linings are old and chopped.. Towels are not clean.
We toke a royal family wing. the view from the balcony in front of the beach is such perfect.. same like the wether.
Breakfast is O.K. few items of food but good choices. Sea view in restaurant will let you enjoy staying there.
There's small beach across the road but so noisy.. any way I don't think that you can find a calm beach in Alex.
Generally it's not a bad hotel.. just bring your towels and bed lining and enjoy the view..

I found Alexandria a hard place to find a hotel under $100, so we stayed at the Regency on recommendation of an Egyptian. However we soon found this is where they stay, and we felt very out of place as non-arab Aussies. The breakfast was very arab orientated with lost of cheese and salad, I made do with bread and jam, dont think they even had toast. The room was fairly simple, the hotel could do with updating and the air con was pretty old and noisy, at least it worked right! Bath room was also average, signs of water damage and need of update, dont forget this is egypt with government controlled hotels so dont expect fantastic quality at rates under $100. But the location is great, right across from the beach and only a short walk to Montazah and the palace. Only reason I would not recommend is it would have been nice to be with more familiar travellers.

Azabel Hotel Azabel is a service that you can find. There is no crowd. People here are not interested in complaints. I am currently in the hotel. Room number 712. Because I am not booked on Booking, there is no interest. I advise people not to try this experience in places that are much better than here. The water is very cold, there is nothing. Hot water and reception. I want a reception, but it is not available

What can I say? We stumbled upon this hotel by accident when our taxi driver suggested we have a quick look at it. we found it only reasonable from the outside but inside - WOW
* Great suite with separate living room and bedroom
* Balcony with 180 degree views of the Mediterranean sea
* The most magnificent views we have ever seen
* Excellent breakfasts
* Very reasonable prices
* Great service from everyone at the hotel
My wife and I are looking forward to our next visit to Alexandria and would not stay anywhere else.

I visited this hotel in June 2011 , I had already booked another hotel but upon insistence of my taxi driver who was probably tipped off or received comission for taking me to the "presumed" 5 star hotel ! The rooms are aweful , and had a stinge to them , the furniture seemed unwashed for centuries , the ac in my room wasn't working , had to be shifted elsewhere , the bell boy was adamant he would get things done for me so he can get tips off of me , it is away from the downtown centre of alexandria , and around 6-7 pm there was music from upstairs , not sure if it was a cabaret or a wedding , flee while you can !

We had to leave this hotel because the rooms were dirty, the bathroom was dirty, the toilet seat was broken and you could see mold everywhere. This was one the worst hotels I have ever stayed in, we did not last even a night, we change to a differ hotel as soon as I saw the room.

During the crowded month of July, we have enjoyed a nice stay at the Regency hotel in one of the seaview rooms at the high floor.

The overall stay was OK including
breakfast and dinner at a reasonable price compared with other same category hotels same dated is the year

Hotel has a small private Sandy beach with enough chairs and umbrellas and a small soft and hot drinks corner at a small charges for hotel guests.

The best times to enjoy are early morning and sunset time when sun sink inside the sea water with the orange reflect.

Hotel staff was so helpful as usual specially when there's a defect in the service delivery or a technical problem.
