No parking at the hotel entrance.
The rooms are cute and small.
The cute design and price per room is well worth the location.
Small but excellent breakfast, there is everything.
It is worth booking in advance.
Noises from other rooms are a little disturbing at night
My only comment was that they had 3-in-1 soap, shampoo and conditioner which I think is fairly common in Romania but if I had known I probably would have brought my own shampoo and conditioner.
Unfortunately our dealings with the reception staff and our room booking spoilt it a bit.
We booked as a family of 5, (children 5, 10, 11) and when we booked six months ago we booked a suite / family room. We were given two double rooms (I.e. enough sleeping space for 4) as they told us the family rooms were taken. I went to reception to ask if we could have a single bed put in one of the rooms and we were told no so I asked if we could swap one of the rooms to sleep three people. They spent a while sorting this out but the offer was of a room separated by 3 floors (no lifts) which just wasn’t practical. I asked again why we could not have the family room that we had booked. After a while they came back to us giving us a third room on the same floor but opposite end of corridor. We did not feel comfortable leaving children in a room on their own so said no, we would make do with the rooms we were given but asked for extra bedding to make a bed on the floor. We were told to ‘be grateful you are getting a room for free’. So we used the bedding and towels from the third room and our children took it in turns sleeping on the floor. When I asked why they would put a family of 5 in two rooms that slept 4, they said that they would expect three people to share a double bed. If that were the case, I would have expected them to tell us this when we checked in, and also to provide us with bedding and towels for 3 in one of the rooms.
The lady in reception was quite nice and accommodating at our arrival but we were surprised by a strong smell of mould in our room on the second floor. I don’t’ know if every room is like this but eventhough the building is an old one , I think that this is not acceptable in 2024. We asked for a another room, but the very bored man in reception on the night shift said that he did not have another room available. Next morning I nicely recommended them to do something about that mould in the future but I got a response similar to : The building is old , there is nothing to do about it 😑
Room was small with classic but outdated furniture but we stayed for a short time and did not mind that. Breakfast was mediocre at most.
We just wanted to say thank you to Alexandru Muresan who helped us, he is a real credit to the team and is the reason that we would stay in this hotel on our next visit to Brasov. 2:30am, tired and cold, we were so fed up and his positivity and kindness really helped us start our visit on a positive note. thank you so much.
The breakfast was alright and theres a little courtyard you can sit in.
Our room was fine, very functional, although it was only a basic one so wasn't expecting too much.
A little tip if you are driving there isn't too much parking in Brasov old town, you can try a nearby parking lot but its often full, so we had to do circles around the town looking for a free parking space which ended up being 10 minutes walk away.
