Opened in 2010, this award winning hostel, in the heart of Brasov's pedestrianized cultural center, is perfect for the culture vulture traveler. A stones throw from the Piata Sfatului (Council Square) and the Black Church, it boasts an incredible location with easy access to Brasov's public transport. We like to keep things personal here at JugendStube Hostel Brasov and want you to leave feeling like you've made new friends and found a home away from home. That's why we have private rooms and most of our dorms are 4 bed and our biggest is just a 6 bed. Smaller dorm rooms means a better nights sleep and most of our rooms have private bathrooms too so you don't have to wait an age for the shower! With our 24 hour reception it doesn't matter whether your train arrives late or you have a late night, we're always on hand to help. Our shared kitchen area, like the rest of the hostel, is kept clean and tidy and our chilled out communal room is a great place to relax with a complimentary tea or coffee after a long day castle hunting! At JugendStube Hostel Brasov all the rooms have access to Wi-Fi and we're always working on improving things for our customers. All of this, along with a great price, is why JugendStube Hostel is one of the best hostels in Brasov!

Everything was perfect! The owner is very kind with guests, and everything is available! I stayed in a 4 people room, that has its own bathroom. The room has not the key, but you can put your stuff in a closet and lock it. The place has also a kitchen with every kind of forniture, they have also tea and coffe for guests. If I'll be back in Brașov, I will totally stay there again!

Amazing hostel next to the city center and main attractions, with very friendly staff, and a very nice atmosphere overall. They welcomed us even though we got there an hour earlier than the planned check-in and they were very helpful, giving us directions when we wanted to get to further objectives. A wonderful experience, i highly recommend and would stay here again!

The lady at reception is super nice and super attentive. The place in general is very comfortable, and the beds were superb. Prices are cheap and there's free coffee and tea in the kitchen for everyone.
Dont hesitate if you are in doubt, this is the place!

I've stayed at plenty of hostels over the years, and this is a good one.

It's clean, has wifi, internet, books, games, social area, brilliant location, lockers, stuff to do and you can get a good night's sleep.

However, George and Colleen make the place. They work so hard, I don't know when George ever gets a chance to sleep. They helped us with restaurant suggestions, car hire, maps, day trip recommendations and a cheap deal to get to Bucharest airport. They are lovely, interesting and super helpful people.

We wish them all the best with their new family in the future.

Extra tip - George helped us arrange a car through 'Brasov Car Hire' who don't have a website. The lady who met us was really lovely and helpful, and the hire rates were excellent.

I stayed in this hostel (actually for the second time already) for a few nights and it was a good experience. The best thing was the very nice staff, which seemed very interested that everything is okay and tried to be very helpful. The hostel is a basic one, where you get everything that you need for good money (private or dorm rooms, kitchen with everything you need and so on). Overall this was a very positive experience and I would recommend this hostel to anyone, who wants to stay in the center of Brasov.

I stayed at JugendStube Hostel in August and was very happy with my choice. It’s what a hostel should be. The dorm room was spacious, the bed comfy, the location central but quiet and the bathrooms were clean. The kitchen area was small but most people just used it to make tea. The living room was a lovely place to hang out, either to read or to talk with others. All of these things are not a lot to ask for or expect but not every hostel gets it right.

I loved the location, right near the bus hub, so you can get anywhere quickly. Plus a quick minute walk to the main square and the other sights. BTW, if you’re going to Autogara 2 (for Bran) take bus #5 – it stops across the park, past the bus hub and then ask the driver to point the way once you’re at the stadium stop.

If you’re looking for a place to eat, try Brasovia on Strada George Baritiu. It’s pork free and has lots of options. Also, there is a farmer’s market behind the Spar supermarket. There is also an enclosed market with vendors selling cheese. The cherry filled covrigi at Gigi Covrigi on Strada Murecinilor are not to be missed. Make sure to take the bus up to Poiana Brasov, it’s a great place to enjoy a bit of nature.

Everything, staff was very helpful and approachable. She told me about good restaurants and gave good information. The hostel was clean and staff was always available. I stayed in slow season, so ended up having the room to myself which was nice. Even when more people came to check in late, she put them in another room which I appreciated. She let me store my bags and use a restroom while I was waiting for my ride after checkout. The hostel is in a good location and close to most things. I would stay again.

My boyfriend and I stayed in the private room with shared bathroom for one night in July. The hostel is in a fantastic location - a couple of minutes walk from the main square and nestled in amongst many restaurants, bars and shops.

Check-in was quick and easy. The person who assisted was friendly and provided us with information on the city and some recommendations for restaurants and things to do which we really appreciated.

Our room was small and very basic - featuring bed, television and bedside table only. The shared bathroom also felt a little past its best but was functional and was cleaned regularly. The hostel also offers a small common area and fully equipped shared kitchen. Alongside this they also provide cereal, toast, tea/coffee etc for the morning which I thought was a lovely touch.

Overall I think Jugendstube is an excellent option for those looking for basic budget accommodation in Brasov's old town however I did find it lacked some of the modern comforts/facilities that are often found in newer/larger hostels.

We chose the Jugenstube hostel for its very central location and near to the Lidia bus stop (from where you catch buses to everywhere). As a couple, we opted for the "double room en suite" (with private bathroom) for 120 lei per night.
What a great choice! The room was huge, everything very clean, they offer you towels, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful, they gave us many useful tips (what to do in Brasov, how to go to Bran, etc.).
We asked if we could do some laundry as well: 20lei for one load, cleaned and dried. The girl even folded our clothes!! We still can't believe it.
This was surely the best experience I had in a hostel in a very long while!

Hi, yes people were going around and visiting castles but I did that individually so I don't know the price. Try calling someone who organise these tours. They all speak English.

"Not applicable here, but get an elevated room. I haven't heard of many thefts at hostels, but those I have occurred on the ground floor."
