BIO HAUS Cioran is an eco-friendly family-run, full boarding pension, situated in a typical Transylvanian landscape. At 20 km drive from Sibiu, an European capital of culture in 2007, you will find our pension in the outskirts of Nucet,a small Transylvanian village, located in a splendid area of wilde hills and forests. We have a client-oriented, warm and friendly approach. On request, we provide breakfast, lunch and dinner, prepared with local, daily fresh foodstuffs based on traditional home-made receipts. For our guests:- you can participate to eco-tours for discovering the wild beauty of Natura 2000 reservations (on the valleys of Hartibach or Tarnava Mare); - experience a century-old history visiting some of the 200 saxon fortified churches; - participate in organised tours to hystoric sites, including UNESCO acknowledged monuments (Biertan, Valea Viilor, Dealu Frumos); - or simply get a taste of the every day life of local people (animal feeding, gardening, cartridge riding, baking and cooking, handicrafts).

We booked 2 rooms at Bio Haus Cioran for 2 nights one week ago. Owners are very nice people offering us as welcome treat cold lemonade and visinata (local schnaps)
both very good. A very very nice and gentle dog John always welcoming us, asking for attention and caress. We stayed in one of the rooms with walls and ceilings made of wooden paneling. Enough space, cleanliness, good mattresses, basic bathroom equipment. One evening we had dinner at the property, very good vegetables soup, second course also good and plentiful. We choosed this location for an event I really want to recommend to all the people comming in this area from April to September, organised each week end. I don't know if I'm allowed to say the name of the association that organizes these events, but you can ask the hosts about, sometimes they are such hosts in their yard. It's all about good healthy local food, very nice people, and very nice experience.

Another week long stay. As before the food was excellent and plenty of it. Some updating now required to bathrooms etc. Host as always very friendly and will always provide extra food if needed. Price still very good.

It's a lovely place where you can spend either just a week-end, or a longer vacation, with you partner, your friends or family. I've been here about 5 years ago (a group of 2 couples) and I can't wait to come back. Beautiful surroundings, excellent food and services and great value for money.

Having cycled some distance in the hot sun we were greeted on arrival with a welcome jug of homemade lemonade. Nothing was too much trouble for our kind hosts and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We sat out on the porch unwinding and relaxing with a beer, observing the goings on at this smallholding, including hay making the traditional way with scythes. Later we were served an excellent meal prepared from local produce including the wine, delicious cherry brandy and schnapps, all to the sound of cuckoos and whilst gazing over the landscape. Bliss.

We stayed as a couple in April 2016. Place is fairly difficult to find, we had to call for directions - try to find this out before you arrive in Nucet, as phone reception is sketchy!
On arrival we were welcomed with open arms and offered some lovely home-produced drinks. Maria and Emil, and their lovely dogs Jon and Sara were great hosts, and even with minimal English, made us feel quickly at home. The setting and the views are fabulous, the food (we stayed D,B&B) is lovely home cooked using produce from the garden, but the rooms could really do with some updating. Our TV didn't work and the wifi didn't reach to the room. The bathroom was fairly basic. All of that said, we didn't spend too much time in the room since the balcony and patio areas are so lovely and we were lucky to have hot weather. Overall, a very nice stay and I would recommend staying here - thanks Maria and Emil!

Another week spent in this first class location. The road has still to be surfaced but well worth the trouble.
Usual excellent food - plenty of home grown vegetables all served with a variety of meat. One of our party was vegetarian he was amazed by the variety arranged for him. Most of us back again in September

As we drove up the village street we thought oh dear where are we going... we pulled up to this large home on a three acre property.... welcomed by Maria who was so warm and friendly. We biked 60km to get here and were hot and tired. She sat us down on her large patio facing the enormous acreage that had mountain view ... their property had fruit trees... garden.... green house..... she let us relax gave us beer...juice ...water and home made strawberry ice cream.... we met her husband who was working hard in the yard. She took us to our room which looked like a lodge... theeee seperate rooms that have their own private bathrooms. For dinner she made us fresh home made soup amazing amazing amazing. Then salad from her garden tasted so fresh and wholesome with home made dressing.... pork was so succulent it melted in your mouth and the chicken was delicious. She also gave us roasted potatoes and a basil risotto which despite being super full still chowed down.... she finished off by making us home made crepes filled with home made strawberry jam and syrup.... food was to die for. She is so sweet she had wine... liquor and anything else we wanted to Drink available. The rooms open to a common balcony which has the view of the acreage... rooms are spacious and beds are comfy. Wifi works in the room. We could only stay one night but this place is amazing with the most amazing owners... thank you! !!!

Although the approach road needs a new surface when you have got there it was worth it!

Excellent food, with wine, schnapps, and liqueur all included in very reasonable price for the evening meal. The soups were something worthy of any top class hotel.

Rooms large with balcony for some of them opening out a marvelous view to the mountains. Just needs a mirror in the room to finish it all off.
