One of the most famous Saxon neighborhoods in Sibiu, called Neppendorf or Turnisor, is the place where you can find Belascu Pension. The building dates from 1840 and was the property of the evangelical church. Belascu is a three star pension which offers accommodation in 8 comfortable and large double rooms each one equipped with its own bathroom, TV/cable and wireless internet access. The pension has also its own restaurant where you can have your breakfast, lunch and dinner. Among other facilities we offer you a conference room, parking space and a big and beautiful garden.

We were there for 2 nights. The room was clean, the facilities were ok. The downsides: the wi.fi worked ok in the hallway and in some other rooms(I think). In our room it worked only in some areas. If you have kids, there's not much to do for them, so I reccomend going for long walks in the city or get ready for hours of "mom/dad, I'm booooored". Overall, though, a nice place.

We were here once more in 2011 and then was absolutely ok. This time I could not say this thing. The room was nice, the breakfast not various but acceptable. The best is that they have a large closed private parking area. The worst thing was the noise of other guests that you can hear from the corridor from early morning. So it is ok for a short therm for a good price, but not for time to relax.

The staff was more than welcoming, helpful, friendly and polite! They were customer oriented, knew what, how and why to do in order to make you feel great! Anything you needed they had a solution, right away! And the hotel part of the pension is very nicely decorated, comfy beds, clean bathrooms, large parking. Would recommend it to anyone!

For me this was the second stay here, first time was in 2008 and now in 2014. And I'm referring to the 3* rooms (Belascu Pension). In my first visit here I was impressed regarding quality, staff and rooms. Now I can say the same thing. :) I really recommend this hotel because the position is in the city and with your car you can go to downtown in 5-10 minutes, the rooms have a lot of space, are clean and modern equipped. The bathroom is very clean and modern equipped. We paid for 1 night 110 Ron. In conclusion you can stay here and you will be happy! :)

We made a reservation here based on the decent reviews seen on another website and the 4-star rating. We weren't looking for much, just a clean, quiet place to rest while we passed through town. Upon arrival the property looked clean and modern. After checking-in for 1 night at 170 RON we were directed to a separate building where our room was (No. 101). For whatever reason the key-card we were given didn't work so we stopped back down in the lobby. The receptionist seemed surprised and then told us she was giving us the Master-key for the whole property. Why she told us that? I don't know, but it seemed like a pretty large privacy/security breach. Either way, we entered the room and were immediately hit with a musty, damp smell. The entire room smelled like a gym locker when you leave your wet towel inside it for the weekend. Additionally, the room had no refrigerator or telephone (as advertised), and the bathroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned. After reading the review from SLClaudio it seems we had similar experiences. At this facility their idea of cleaning a room was simply making the beds. After determining that this room wasn't worth what we were paying in its current condition, we went back down to the lobby and asked if we could be given another room. The receptionist obliged and sent us down the hall from our original room to No. 105. Upon entering this room we were hit with the same, damp, musty smell as the first. Again, the bathroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned from the previous guest. At this point we decided we were going to find somewhere else to stay for the night and kindly asked the receptionist for our money back. They were reluctant, and suggested spraying the room with perfume to conceal the smell. We had already made up our minds at this point and after having wasted about an hour, simply wanted to leave. At that point the demeanor of the staff had changed and they became short with us. They tried saying that they could not refund the money because our debit card purchase "was with the bank now." Both of us have work experience in hotels, restaurants and with POS (point of sale) systems and we knew this not to be true. The thought that this 4-star hotel/restaurant could not refund or void a charge 45 minutes after it was made and before the POS batch was cleared for the day was ludicrous. They wanted me to have to go through the process of initiating a charge-back with my bank in order to get my money back, which can take weeks or even months. After going back and forth with the receptionists for a few minutes, and being called rude, a gentleman who we believed to be the owner walked into the lobby. He asked what the issue was, and offered to give us a cash refund which we accepted. A couple minutes later he returned, didn't say a word, and handed me 170 RON. We departed and found a much nicer, cleaner guesthouse closer to town and for half the price. Bottom line is: this place has modern furniture and a nice facade but the qualities end there. Poor management and business practices seem to plague this property. There are a ton of other options in Sibiu, find somewhere else. Especially for what they are charging for "4-star" service.

If you want to go visit Sibiu, you should stay at Pensiunea Belascu. The rooms are equipped with modern furniture and a stylish bath. The beds are really comfortable, it's like you are sleeping on clouds. The service there is amazing, the personal is always willing to help you.

I begin by saying that this is our second stay here. You must know that there are 3* rooms (in the pension) and 4* rooms (in the building with the restaurant at the ground floor). Our first stay there was at 3* and the latest one at 4* (we paid for 3* and got 2 rooms at 4* at arrival because there were these two rooms free and we've just become regular clients! We were thrilled with the offer the owners made us!!!) The room was clean, cosy, wit confortable beds. I say "beds" because there was a matrimonial bed but with 2 adjacent mattresses, but we didn't mind (much space for each of us :) ). When we arrived the heater in the room was set at 20 degees Celsius, but we set it at the temperature we wanted and the room got heated in a couple of hours. The bathroom was clean, with resonable surface. Instead there was no shelf where to put cosmetics, which was very annoying especially when taking shower. Our room was down the hall and the wi-fi signal was not so good, but in the rest of the building was excellent. It is true that the room wasn't cleaned during our stay, only the trash was emptied (we were only asked if we need something like toilet paper, clean towels etc) The restaurant was open only on New Year's evening and there was a great party with very good dishes. Breakfast was ok, nothing special, served in the pension's cellar. If you smoke, the cellar and the restaurant (when opened) are the only inside places there smoking is allowed (in the celler there is also a non-smoking area). Location of the property is away from the city noise, great if you want to rest. I can't say anything about public transportation in the area, becouse we travelled by car (there is also a big private parking). You can get down the city center in 5 minutes by car. The owners are very friendly and client-oriented and the personnel very helpful. In conclusion, we will gladly come back here whenever we get in Sibiu. Generally the conditions are very good even at 3* well above average(there are details that make the difference between the two types of rooms).

Pro - cheap for the area - easy access get to if you have a car - the receptionist gave lots of info wen we checked in - big room - flexible checkin Cons - no heating at 5 degrees outside - we asked to heat the rooms, not possible, we asked for an electric heater, not possible, we ask to make a fire in the middle of the room, not possible... - rooms were not that clean... - walls are made of thin walls, I can hear all the neighbours what are doing - Matrimonial bed made out of 2 mattress, uncomfortable for what was intemded - way too early check out at 11am ... - did I mention no heating at 5 degrees outside???

This is a quite new hotel, very nice and cozy but if you take a closer look it is not as it should be and it has some flaws. First of all, on both nights that we spent there they held parties in the hotel restaurant which was just below the rooms. Fortunately they ended by 12 pm but nevertheless we could not use the restaurant for lunch or dinner. As far as cleaning is concerned it was of poor quality. It implied only making the beds. They didn`t vacuum or clean the bathroom. They didn`t even notice that we ran out of toilet paper and we had to call the reception to have it replaced. The air con unit was a piece of decor, more like a fan, totally inefficient. That`s why we opened the window which was a big mistake because our room was soon full of nagging flies. We paid extra for the breakfast which was not a big deal. It looked like they brought us some leftovers from the overnight parties. We`ve visited many countries and hotels and this is the very first one where they charged us extra for the water we drank during breakfast. The location of the hotel is OK if you have a car, downtown is just 10 minutes away. If service improved this hotel could be one of the best choices while in Sibiu.
