We stayed here in 2019, so for our wedding in july 2020 we picked this hotel to stay for us and our guests. after months of planning and reserving more rooms during that time period (up to three weeks before the date) the hotel cancelled all our reservations. not due to covid, as they wanted to move us to their other location 10 km outside Varna. No reason given, they actually wanted us to send them cancelations whilst they called us to cancel. This is not how you deal with guests that book half your hotel. Not reliable, not customer friendly. Do not book here as you are never sure you can actually stay there.
The hotel is verry clean with excellent location. Close to restorants, coffe shops and clothing shops, museums, theatres. The staff is ready to help every time when you have questions. The breakfast is tasty. Just perfect for holiday.
We stayed 3 nights in a triple apartment. Very big, clean and comfortable room. Hotel is located in the heart of Varna, very good location. Easy access to everywhere. Nice stuff. Good breakfast. Everything is excellent. Only negative point is small elevator which is nothing important besides other advantages.
Hotel located in the city center. Hotel very clean and comfortable within walking distance to the beach, Shopping area and restaurants. Our room was clean and comfortable. Great breakfast. The staff is very friendly.
When I asked via email about a transfer to and from Varna airport, the replies were fast and enthusiastic. Like all good hotels, the staff seemed pleased that I was there and were very welcoming. Unfortunately when I arrived, the reception staff were ambivalent to my presence and at worst, bordering on rude. I don’t want staff to bow down to me but a smile and a ‘hello, how are you’ would have been good, as I’ve experienced in hotels all over the world. They seemed to look down on my efforts to speak Bulgarian, which was a shame. As for the Splendid, the room was comfortable, and a good size with a nice view of the cathedral from the third floor. Indeed, the location of the Splendid is easily its best point, near all the attractions in the pleasant city of Varna. The hotel gym is adequate, and breakfast was just that - fine. Satisfactory. Not bad. Varna is the kind of place you need just two days to see and although it’s enjoyable to visit, it’s a one-time deal, really. Overall, a bang average but well-located hotel. There are better, there are worse, but I certainly won’t be returning if for some reason I do go back to Varna. 6/10.…
Booked as it said PET FRIENDLY however it turns out not so friendly. ( highest cost ever paid for our 3 kilo dog 60 ) . We were told to leave at breakfast after already having sat down and already with our breakfast , from the buffet. Room was okay nice bed ,pillow had blood on it however the view of church was nice if it was not for the noisy road. Curtains did not fully fit the window so be careful as bus stop is outside ladies. Side entrance only, they fake the photo with a tree and make it look really nice but its just a door around the side , re-photo. If you can find a spot to park within a mile as all spaces paid or free are always fully booked and costs 10 per day. We did find a spot but this was just luck its a one way past the hotel door no space to stop unload so its not good at all with a heavy load. We had a long 20 min walk to beach so not close at all to the main tourist shops or beach. Staff very unhelpful , Victoria in particular and always on the phone and rude. Lift takes ages to arrive, on one count 5 mins. We do this for work so please find true reviews on our site link. When we rtn we will never book this hotel its just not the best location or price with or without pets & my wife just reminded me the coffee was like dish water and we had to pay for it also.…
About Varna: the city is seen in 2 days, so if you have a longer holiday, I suggest to book also another hotel from another city or from a beach resort, like Albena, Golden Sands etc. There is also a possibility to do daytrips, I did one to Nessbar and it was easy, 2 hours one way. Buses go every hour from the bus station to Nessbar/Sunny Beach. The buses costed only 12 levas. About the hotel: it has a good location, next to the walking area and only 20 minutes walk to bus station. If you prefer a beach holiday, you better choose a hotel next to the beach. The bus 409 costed only 1 leva (or less) and it runs between the airport + hotel. Highly recommended to use it. The hotel has spacious rooms and is very comfortable. Breakfast was ok. Friendly staff. The view in my room (309 or 310) was towards the church - so beautiful! I would stay again in this hotel.…
The title sums it up really. It is in a super location with a small walk to the older town and beach. The room was clean and had AC and a lovely view onto the Church and park. The bed cover linen, curtains and bed it's self could all do with replacing they were old and did nothing to enhance the room but for a cheap stay I guess they were ok. It would simply make it even better. The breakfast was average and as a coffee fan I was left wanting but it had all staples. Staff were friendly and spoke good English. When we needed help they called to make reservations for us which was most appreciated. We stayed for 2 nights and it was odd to only get free water on the first day and no refill. We were not sure if this is normal for hotels in the country but it was one customer service touch point that was missed. There is private parking available for 10 lev a night or free street parking if you can get it. On the whole ok. …
The hotel is next to a bus stop that connects with the airport and the bus station. The hotel is within easy walking distance from the Archaeological Museum and adjacent to the Varna Cathedral. Our room had an amazing view on the Cathedral!!! Our room was clean, Breakfast was adequate. The staff, especially the one gentleman, were rafter grumpy. They never made any eye-contact. We therefore refrained from asking them any info about must see places in Varna. If you need any info, ask the friendly people from the Varna Tourism Office (two minutes walk from the hotel).
Recently checked out from this hotel, after a 5 night stay. All was spot on, room was absolutely clean and spacious. The room was cleaned Daily and linen was changed every day. We were on a wedding trip and the cleaner Pieta and the other girl ( I don't know her name ) Made my room every day to a high standard. It was very nice to see different shape made with the towels :) . Just one side note, My room was 301 and the air con was straight onto our face while we were sleeping, this is not very good while you are sleeping but being +35 degrees outside I didn't mind a bit of cold :) Also, I never saw a bed sheet, there was the mattress cover and a duvet but no bed sheet. Maybe it would be nice to add one? Breakfast was just perfect, plenty of choice, different juices and all you needed. Side note for the Breakfast waitress ( never asked for our room number, so anyone can just walk in ) Also, wifi never worked in the whole hotel for the whole of my stay. It would connect but not even able to open a google page ( Not a big Deal as I was out all the time with my own 4G All in all , if we come back to Varna ( which we will ) I will be looking into staying again in this hotel. Area is totally safe and there Is plenty of parking places around. Varna beach is a pleasant walk of 15 minutes and shopping centers are a stone trow away from hotel. Average restaurant price was 20 to 25 LV which for us is like €10 to €15 EXTREMELY cheap :) and good quality. Most of the people speak English at their best they can. Public transport ( never used ) but there is 4 bus stops just across the hotel. When paying for food or goods is better if you pay with card as if you exchange money they will charge you commission ( which is not a big amount ) but by paying by card you will get the best rate. Hope this review helps other travelers to choose wisely on their next holiday :) Book this hotel and you wont regret anything :)…
