The hotel is in the old town of Plovdiv, really close to everything. Kapana is 10 min away. The property is amazing, very well managed and kept, the rooms are spacious, we had the chance to stay in a 'old' room, decorated beautifully! The staff was really nice. The breakfast was ok. I hope to visit it again!
Rooms are in the Bulgarian Revival style in an old mansion. Good restaurant on premises, very good breakfast. Located in the heart of the old city. Be advised if you have mobility problems, building has lots of steps up and down. Friendly Staff, English speaking. Walking distance to most sites.
This little hotel proved to be a real find. In the centre of the old town the house has been beautifully restored with original furniture. The staff, particularly Danny were incredibly helpful advising us on taxis & tours. We spent 3days in this wonderful oasis & heartily recommend you visit if ever you need a quiet retreat away from the hustle & bustle of the city.
A stay at the Hebros affords you a window on a past era in Plovdiv. This is a charming old hotel whose decor reflects that past era. Part of the joy of a stay here is the opportunity to experience life as it once was in this wonderful city. The downside to an historic hotel is that not everything works the way you would expect in a new property. The air conditioning was erratic, the wi-fi very weak to non existent. The hotel has lots of stairs and moving luggage up and down these could be a challenge. The staff were more than willing to give assistance in moving the luggage. However, you could forgive these shortcomings as you were able to stay in a more modern version of many of the old houses that are open for for inspection in the old town. Pluses and minuses. That is the charm of the Hebros - that window onto the past. Our room was large, the furniture - period. The room was clean and serviced promptly each day. Outside our room was a large open space - again decorated in the period and consistent with that grand era of Plovdiv. The breakfast buffet was a little hit and miss - the coffee machine was out of order for 2 consecutive days - something not noted by the staff. The buffet ran out of items quickly and required prompting for replacement. However, what remained was fine. Replacement coffee was provided from the bar, not the coffee machine. If you stay here you will be rewarded by the experience, but you may need to adjust your expectations of what you will receive a little. Could the hotels execution of the basics be improved - yes it could.…
The room was amazing. Loads of character and absolutely beautiful furniture. It was fantastic staying in a historic building. We would highly recommend this place if you are looking for something a bit different. On the down side we were sent photos of the room we were staying in prior to booking and told the room number and when we arrived we were not into a different room - we asked about it but no one got back to us. Breakfast was a bit disorganised and slow. Aircon was pretty ineffective. That said I would still highly recommend it and would stay again. Beautiful, beautiful room.
