This hotel is the best! I have stayed several times. The service is great. Nice refurbished quality rooms. Comfort beds. The hotel is huge, but still a fantastic hotel with great atmosphere. Splendid breakfast. And great kitchen for dinner as well. Parking included. More than happy to stay again.
one of the best hotels i have been to. friendly staff, big rooms, clean!!!!! you can eat from the floor. good location. very rich breakfast!!!!? very comfortable beds. tv, could be bigger with a lot of channels. the casino is an added atraction.
Not a quality 4star more of a good 3star (maybe i am picky as i work 25yrs in luxury 5star hotels), breakfast was good but the same everyday (stayed for 8days) lunch and dinners for us was a buffet which was bland and poor but for three star o.k. room was big and bed was comfortable with clean sheets and plenty of hot water, unfortenetly it is showing that the hotel is tiered and getting old. Overall I would stay again but not for a lot of days 2-3max
This is a scam hotel with hourly rates for prostitutes. Booked on Expedia and prepaid for a dibble room but then tried to extort an additional payment for an extra person. Then they suggested we might want to pay for the extra person by the hour.
The entire local environment is an experience money can pay for. I am the one who moved all pool equipment to lawn, people had a taste of freedom per me. I love you people you have a great attitude towards life. Thank you again for a wonder !!!
My family and I had a last minute stay at the hotel, which was handled by the staff (and later I found out, the Manager of the hotel). They accommodated our needs to a tee. And, when a minor situation arose...the manager was right there to take care of it all. The spa/pool facility is first class. It appears as though there is a separate Sports Center located within the hotel which has an agreement with the hotel and its guests. The result is as good a pool facility as you will ever encounter in a hotel as a result of this symbiotic relationship. Thank you Grand Hotel Plovdiv (and a special thanks to a great manager as well)!!!
Stayed here for 2 weeks with colleagues on business. The hotel was well prepared for Covid but to be honest, although the staff obeyed the rules perfectly, the guests mostly ignored the rules sadly. Breakfast was ok, a good mix of cold meats and cheeses with hot eggs and boiled bacon. There were doughnuts, croissants etc, good coffees and most importantly Earl Grey tea. The fruit juices came from a machine which unfortunately meant the orange juice varied in taste. Rooms were clean and well equipped although if you wanted your room serviced, you needed to put a hangar on the door. That said every time I did that the room was bottomed and bed and towels changed. The dry cleaning service was excellent and not at all expensive. Reception arranged a car for us to go to a local winery, over our weekend and he was cheap, friendly and spoke perfect English. The hotel is really well positioned just to the N of the river with a very short walk into the old town and its restaurants.…
Was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. As we drove towards the hotel, we were not quite sure where we were going to end up, but ultimately the hotel is located centrally to most sights, and lots of restaurants and bars etc. Friendly and helpful staff, big and clean rooms, comfortable bed. We had a issue with the temperature in the rooms when we arrived, and complained several times, but they could not fix the problem (an issue with the ventilation system). Eventually , the staff offered us to change rooms to another side of the hotel, where we could adjust the temperature to a more comfortable level. Breakfast in the hotel was very nice with loads of choices for every taste. It is well worth to take a walk from the hotel and into to town to explore. Quite some history, nice narrow streets, nice buildings and nice bars and cafes, right on the doorstep of the hotel. Would like to stay here again.…
This hotel is really at a very good location near the center. The room was very big, the view was fantastic (looked at Maritsa river). The beds were comfortable and you could sleep really well because it was quiet. The service was excellent. The only minus point, the carpet of the room had a strange unpleasant (but not strong ) smell.
My son and I stayed here this past summer for 10 days. The hotel is in walking distance to a lot of attractions. The old city, old churches, Shopping, restaurants, the Roman theater, Parks and more. The hotel service is good, I found the people to be not so friendly but that's how I found most of Europe. The room was great, large and with comfy beds. The bathroom and toilet is separate which was odd, after using the toilet you had to come out of that room and go into the bathroom to wash your hands. There is a pool but you have to pay a fee to use and must wear a swimming cap. Don't use the mini bar, the prices are a rip off, go across the street there is a super market. Food is cheap in the restaurants around so I recommend it and not eating at the hotel. Great bar right across the street "Martini bar". The bank is also right across the street , take your passport if you want to change money at the bank, frankly I used the little currency exchange place, they gave same rates with no hassle. The maid service was the best, I left my things out and it was never touched.…
