The hotel was under renovations when I booked and I was not notified. I was not able to roll my luggage from the entry to the elevator, which would not have been an issue except I was never offered any assistance from the desk staff. In and out, with each piece no one ever offered assistance, over electrical cord or inconsistent flooring. The staff was friendly and nice otherwise.

The room was perfect for my needs, with a few exceptions. A previous user’s shampoo was still left opened in the shower area and there were no floor towels provided. Indeed I nearly broke my ankle in the bathroom one evening because the floor is very slippery and only two hand and body towels were provided. I also had to personally correct a drainage issue in which my toilet operating pushed water onto the floor, by correcting the collar behind the toilet to be flush with the line.

The location of the hotel is nice if you don’t wish to see the best parts of Plovdiv and to listen to the whirring and rumbling of the go kart track across the street. That’s my fault because I booked without knowing but if you’re looking to be close to the history of the city then this is not the place for you.

The spa and sauna were excellent, and I would stay again just for that. Also the restaurant was good and the simple pasta meal I enjoyed was one of the best I enjoyed in Plovdiv over my four day stay.

Also one evening I ventured to the old city for dinner and the hotel desk called for me a taxi and she was very nice.

We stayed twice at this hotel in one week, having made both bookings in advance. That was a risk, but it turned out fine, generally speaking.

The Park Hotel Plovdiv is a nicely decorated hotel with hints of luxury (Chesterfield sofas, dark wood and marble, embroidered wallpaper), good facilities, good furniture and spacious rooms.

We found that staff spoke better English than elsewhere in Bulgaria (inasmuch as we could judge that in a week) and were extremely friendly and helpful.

The hotel is more on less on the way to/from the local airport, and it's a little over 1.5 mile from the old town of Plovdiv (if like for me walking that distance isn't a good idea for you, take a taxi, it will only cost you about 5 leva, about 2.50 euros).

The first time we arrived here by hotel airport shuttle, which was excellent, but we quickly found out that at 30 leva it was more expensive than a taxi (12 leva, about six euros). Late at night it's a good option, though. But do reserve it in advance. Phone to reserve, because our e-mail didn't get a reply.

If you come by car, there's parking in front of the hotel, and to the side, but it's on a first come first served basis, basically a free for all, and since there are amusement facilities, a park and a stadium nearby, it's not only hotel guests who want to park here.

We had two rooms during two stays in one week, and both were spacious and pleasant. They had almost everything a guest could want, with the exception maybe of teamaking facilities, an iron and an ironing board.

The decor is in brown hues, but well chosen, and of good quality, as is the furniture. The bed is comfortable, but the duvet on the double beds, unfortunately, was much to small for two adults - the receptionist agreed with us and called it fit for a 'single' only. Suggestion for improvement, hotel manager?

The bathrooms looked nice, but were designed by an idiot: first of all the glass screen in front of the shower was much too small, and secondly in room 507 it's in the wrong place: the toilet got soaked, as did the rest of the floor of the bathroom.
Chamber maids should realise that the single toilet roll they place in the bathroom is very short, so that when two people use it, they may run out even during just a one-night stay. Having said that, if you phone reception and ask for more toilet paper, it's there within two minutes. Service is friendly, quick and efficient.

The restaurant offers a breakfast buffet, which isn't bad, but could be better. First of all the hot dishes aren't kept warm until the end of breakfast time, secondly there could be more choice in drinks (replacing those horrible sugary drinks with real juice would help!), and thirdly I really don't like the choice of the TV programs on the huge screens in the restaurant (why a restaurant needs to have TV is a mystery to me, but allright, I'm willing to go with the flow - BUT... if what's on is DJ Snake and a bunch of twerking women, that really isn't helping my appetite at all, and I think it lowers the tone of an otherwise nice restaurant and hotel).

The restaurant also offers lunch and dinner, and has a good menu, and clearly a good chef as well. Having eaten in quite a few restaurants in different towns in Bulgaria in a week (there's no point in making dinner yourself when dinners in restaurants are very cheap), we noted that guests of the Park Hotel really don't have to go into town to find an affordable dinner at all - the prices of the dishes in the hotel restaurant are very close to the cheap dinners we had elsewhere, the quality is high, and the service by the professional waiting staff is excellent.

The only gripe we had, was that at dinner time the number of smokers outside affected the air quality inside badly: although the smokers are kept outside, somehow keeping their smoke outside doesn't work, and the whole place smelt of tobacco smoke.

Another point in favour of this hotel, is that it has a very nice day spa with a professional physiotherapist to give treatments. She gave me a hammam massage as good as I've had it anywhere else, and the spa is atmospheric and nicely designed. But ... currently, so I was told, mainly locals use the day spa. As I see it, that's due to the opening hours. As a hotel guest, I would like to use the spa before breakfast, and/or before going to bed - so, early in the morning and late in the evening. With the spa open only from noon until 8 P.M., neither is possible. That may be a personnel problem, for the lady told me she was the only staff there. But I don't necessarily need treatments early or late, I just want to use the sauna and the steam room at those times! So maybe that's an idea to think about.

Now, I may have sounded a bit critical, but we really did like this hotel, and we were delighted with the friendly service by the staff, who made our stay very pleasant. It's just that there were a few little things not quite right that motivated all of the details above in this review. But they're really just little things. So I would recommend that the hotel pay attention to these details, because then they could easily go from good or very good to being an absolutely great hotel!

It's the second time we stayed at this hotel. Not in the centre but convenient when you are by car since it has its own parking and it is 5-10 minutes from the old city center by taxi. You'd better book the white edition rooms which are renovated. But still the old rooms are really spacious too. Staff is always kind and helpful, both at the reception, at the bar and at the restaurant. I strongly recommend asking the reception staff to book you a taxi whenever you need one because there are many "fake" taxi drivers that charge you even ten times up the true value. Breakfast is nice and the restaurant is a Greek one with nice food.

We booked the half of the hotel for our wedding. After the wedding, our friends informed us that some of their rooms were smelling after cigarettes. I spoke to the hotel manager and she was aware of this issue (it turned out to be a systematic issue), but she did not consider it necessary to inform us in advance or to resolve the issue before accommodating the guests.
Also, the rooms are outdated, the bathroom fans were not working, the wallpapers were unglued, the carpets are stained.
Also, for the price of 10lv per person, the breakfast was awful - small choice of food that was anything but delicious.
Although the hotel has a nice location and free parking, until they fix the smell in the rooms, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Arrived at 1am 6th March 2022, 3 hours later due to missing flights in UK. After missing flights from UK, and being on the road for more than 16 hours, we were drained. Nellie who was on duty that night was an absolute angel. All we wanted was a cuppa!! (Typical Brits) There are no tea and coffee making facilities, but Nellie pulled out all the stops and sourced us a kettle and cups. She told us not to worry about anything else and could sort everything in the morning. The bed was soooooo comfortable. The room was spotless and the staff were A1. Nellie you are a credit to the Park Hotel Plovdiv, and because of that we will be booking again when we come back to our home in Bulgaria. Thank you team Park Hotel!!!

My wife and I stayed at the Park Hotel Plovdiv for one night and frankly it was enough.

The reception was acceptable. The hotel is well located. The surroundings are pretty. The hotel has a great a deal of potential.

While there was generous space and all the basics, the room was in dismal conditions. The main issue is the lack of an enclosure for the shower allowing water to leak through the walls. (See pictures). Without opening the walls, it is a fair assumption to think there might be mold / mildew.

Until the rooms are updated or renovated, I can't recommend this hotel.

We spent a night at the hotel and were very pleased! The room was very spacious for a European hotel. The room was as big as the rooms in US hotels. The room was also very clean with complimentary water bottles, instant coffee, and toiletries. Beds were comfortable.

The breakfast buffet was also good with something for everybody - toast, jelly, honey, crepes, tomatoes, cucumbers, feta cheese, yogurt, cereal, eggs, fruit, frankfurters, milk, coffee, waters, and juices. I am a picky eater and enjoyed breakfast very much. I saw a review that the machine dispenses coffee with sugar. Not sure how the machine was programmed earlier, but now coffee is dispensed unsweetened and there is sweetener provided.

The staff at the hotel was also very polite. Our room was on the fourth floor facing the go kart track but we did not hear a peep from the track or the nearby rooms. Park Lauta is right next to the hotel so you can take a walk if you would like. Although there is no reserved parking for hotel guests (parking is shared with apartment building residents and park visitors), we were able to find a spot. Downtown is just 5-10 minutes away by car.

I saw a few reviews where people were complaining of the bathroom getting all soaked. This is how most of the Bulgarian bathrooms are designed. There is no wall dividing the shower from the rest of the bathroom as there is only one drain in most bathrooms and that drain is close to the toilet bowl. There was a wall right next to the toilet in the hotel bathroom but it did not keep the water from going all over the bathroom.

One suggestion (also made by other reviewers) - please, provide either bigger duvet covers or two duvet covers. The cover on the the queen bed is not big enough for two people.

Overall, the hotel was great and worth the money! You have all the amenities provided by US hotels. I would stay there again.

This one is called Park hotel and its in Sankt Peterburg boulevard, the other one is called Park Hotel Sankt Peterburg and its in Bulgaria boulevard. We made the booking on the internet thinking we were booking the latter, and arrived at the wrong hotel. A little added confusion in the rate. It was expressed as 46eu excluding breakfast, but when we arrived we were given breakfast coupons, so I think they meant, including breakfast. Anyway, we have stayed in both and they are both perfectly acceptable hotels, and we have have enjoyed comfortable stays in both. One of them has a huge swimming pool but we were put off by the loud music blasting away at breakfast time. I would be happy to stay in either again, but I think the Sankt Peterburg Park hotel has a misleading name.

The front desk staff are fabulous. Excellent English, very attentive, very eager to assist the foreign guest in whatever way they can. They should be working in a five-star hotel. What I cannot understand is why the owners hired such excellent and well-trained staff but failed to include amenities for foreign guests like a single English-language channel on TV (like CNN or BBC). Which brings us to the rooms. Comfortable but poorly designed. Word of advice: remove the toilet rolls before you have a shower - they will get soaked. The hotel is right next to the Go-cart track. Thankfully noise pollution abates after 11 at the weekend (10 during weekdays)

Ah, the breakfast. When the restaurant is busy in the morning, it's buffet. When they're not busy, it's Soviet tickets and one-size-fits-all. Hard for someone who won't eat meat. The restaurant was recommended but I have to be honest - they advertise themselves as Italian but they put out on the tables the cheapest kind of rubbish olive oil. I have a rule of thumb; if it ain't extra virgin I run in the opposite direction very fast.

Final comment. The owners got a whizz idea of adding a spa to the hotel. Now in general I have nothing against spas. But in the former Soviet bloc, spas and saunas tend to places where middle-aged men like to have parties featuring lots of vodka and nubile young women of recent acquaintance. I am NOT suggesting there is anything improper happening at the Park Hotel Plovdiv spa but there were quite a few drunken celebrations while I was there.
