The rooms are lovely, big and very nice. Unfortunately, there was a burning/chemical smell in the hotel. The worst of it was on the third floor, where I stayed. I sent an email to reception saying that I thought the odor came from the radiator. A young man came up, asked what was wrong and then snarked that the element was off. Well, uh, yes, I turned it off. He walked out without saying another word. The next day I called reception two times about getting a different room on a higher floor. At this point, I had had more asthma attacks than I could count, my throat burned and my nose ran. I couldn't be accommodated on another floor, no problem. I had to leave. I told the receptionist and she said that I would have to pay for my whole reservation, which was supposed to be a month. I said, no way. I had stayed two nights and had paid for five in advance. I wasn't given a refund. I repeatedly told the receptionist and the man who came to my room that they needed to have the room looked at. Something was very wrong and someone could get sick. They both stared blankly at me. I'm guessing they knew something was wrong. There was no way I'd been the first person to complain. I ended up having to go to the doctor after I left. I was told I had an allergic reaction to some sort of chemicals. Nice, huh?…
We stay at this hotel for 2 nights. Amazing big rooms and bathroom. Very nice breakfast and lots of choices. Central position and just 5 minutes to the old city center and public transportation. Airco in the room works but makes a lot of noise. More a washing machine noise. Not so hot , so we switch it on if we are out and off if we are in the room. The bar service good drinks and the chickwings are excellent.
We we’re starting at this hotel in 5 different room , so l know this hotel quite good. I would make 5 stars but unfortunately few things happened during our stay. young receptionists and cleaning ladies were the best! Smiling, always nice ...except tall skinny man , who helping to move luggage. When my friend come to visit me at the room for few hours , he took her luggage and was walking in front of her to my room .. without knocking he opens the door where l was in underwear. That’s was shocking for me!!!! Even didn’t say any apologies. And he never smile ! Just like zombie. Second thing which was unacceptable is hotel’s security which is standing near restaurant Grushevsky. We were hanging out at the restaurant almost every night and of course were going in to the hotel through the restaurant’s door . Ones it’s security didn’t want to let in our guests who was staying in the modern art hotel through the restaurant door after drinking there. But it’s not the end...he just like to staring at the guests. And it’s super weird!!! Ones l even asked waiter to tell him to go inside, as l felt awkward when I’m in the terrace hanging out with family and someone is just staring. So l think stuff need to be trained better! And please tell them that if they are working in the hotel , guests likes smiling stuff not like face of killers. Third thing which made me mad it’s when my husband told me he got a mail from the hotel , asking him to pay the bill for the restaurant ( which he payed a 3 days before on the day he left ). On my side , I left on the next day after him and nobody tell me anything as everything was payed. So that was weird - we payed but the hotel was asking to pay again.. It’s took me a week to solve the problem. As l was not in Ukraine any more as my husband. So next proposal for the hotel will be - to take more attention for this details as it’s very important. Would l stay next time at this hotel ? Probably not . Oh , yes! For 2 weeks staying there l probably learned all the songs at the breakfast place, as it’s same aaaall the time , eeeeevery day ..same same same (((…
Massive rooms and friendly reception staff. The rooms were clean and the shower room spotless. The female bar and restaurant staff were generally happy and smiley though their English was limited, male staff were a little brusque and unsmiling. The local beer is very cheap but imported drinks are expensive in comparison to local prices. The food we ate at the bar was very good and generous. Breakfast was pretty slim pickings and a little strange for Western tastes. There's much better breakfasts at the many local cafes like Veronika across the street. Overall, I'd stay again but mainly for room size and location. Be warned no it seems Taxi drivers in Lviv don't really speak much English or know the non Ukranian name of the hotel so you could spend a lot of time (as we did) saying 'Modern Art Hotel' to blank faces... make sure you take a screenshot of the address in Ukranian before you set off.…
We enjoyed a week long stay at the hotel. Staff was friendly, complimentary breakfast was very good, from the classic, fresh orange juice, toast and jam, to local goodies (names elude me, but they looked appealing and tasted even better). Old Town and market square are walking distance with several tasty options for dining close by.
A very nice hotel refurbished and decorated with a lot of imagination. I had an attic room, so no city view, but I could see the sky: that did not bother me at all - on the contrary, the room was very nice and large, and I would take it again anytime. It was very nice to lie in bed and watch the sky. The restaurant is very stylish and offers a warm atmosphere, I enjoyed it evenings to just chill out the day enjoying a good local dark beer. The only downside for me: barely vegan options on the menu (actually none) and the breakfast buffet, and no vegan cafelatte variations (be it with soymilk, or oatmilk, etc.). Beautiful old town, great architecture, many beautiful little restaurants, cafes, restaurants, with high quality offer.
Very well situated - just a 10 minute walk from the centre (Rynok Square). Nice modern hotel. Evening meal - good. Breakfast - fine. Pleasant staff too - spoke good English as my Ukrainian was non-existent.
Enjoyed my stay in this hotel. Nice location and very nice staff. All speak English very well. I was there before in October 2018 and due to the beautiful weather we spent some hours on the lovely street terrace of the hotel bar. No such luck this time. Prices are friendly. Rooms are spacious and well equipped. Breakfast restaurant is beautiful and the choice of the buffet adequate. Enough tasteful food on the table. All and all a nice place to stay.
We have hosted our wedding party at the hotel restaurant and our overseas guests were staying at Modern Art hotel. It was very convenient, as guests could just take the elevator down to the restaurant or go back to their rooms for a rest, if needed. Despite several changes through the booking process, the booking manager Natalia always responded promptly and efficiently made all the required changes.Even though we had a group booking with some special requests, they were all met. Service was excellent and rooms were spotless. Each guest from our group of 15 confirmed they had an great stay in this hotel and several expressed their wish to come back and visit Lviv again sometime in the future.
Huge room with a very clean bathroom. Well decorated. Good location - a short walk from the Old Town Staff were helpful but didn’t all speak English. Soundproofing between rooms wasn’t great - we had a noisy child next door...
