We settled in the room, overlooking the Rynok square. The hotel's location creates an unforgettable romantic mood. In the evening you can watch through the window as the couples are dancing. One can hear great music sounding on the square. The interior is simple and comfortable - all you need to relax. I liked everything. There was spare hypoallergenic pillow! The staff is very friendly. Below is a cafe with delicious strudel (at 23:00)

Very nice hotel in the heart of the city. All famous cafes and restourants are away in 350 m maximum from the hotel. Good service, cozy rooms and clean. Extra service could be problematic but possible. Please mind, there is no restourant. the breakfast could be served at the nice cafe downstairs. Rooms with "Rynok sqr. " view are recommended but could be noisy. Nice place to stay and will stay again!!!

A beautiful and comfortable hotel in the center of Lviv's old town. It is in walking distance of everywhere in the city and right on the tram line that goes to the train station. Our room was very clean, at the back of the hotel and very comfortable. I would not recommend a place with a view of the square as it can be very noisy.
The staff were extremely helpful and gave us directions, helped with restaurant choices and even advised us on a short day trip outside the city. There is a baggage room for leaving luggage if you arrive before 2pm check in, or check out and want to explore the city a bit more before you leave.
Excellent value for the money, would definitely stay here again!

We've been through a few small cities in ukaine, lviv is by far the modt charming and this guesthouse puts you right on the main square within easy walking distance of everything. Staff is grest, rooms are comfortable, windows look onto the square, no restaurant onsite but there are many terraces all around.

Super hotel, very nice rooms in historic old building area…everything was clean, lots of space, staff friendly and very helpful.. they work very hard.. I hope they get good rest and holiday time too.. The entrance is a little tricky to find at night on first arrival. but hotel is in a central area with street lighting. This hotel is a great base to go see Lviv. Its located around shops, local restaurants, and site seeing places, rooms were quiet, warm and cosy.

I found On The Square Guesthouse when looking for a hotel in Lviv and I wasn't disappointed about that. We got room #4 just in front of the reception which was spacious and clean. This room doesn't have a view from the window, however, it's very quiet during the night which was more important to us.The staff spoke English and were very friendly and helpful. Value for money. Don't be scared about the entrance. It doesn't look good (old building) but I think it will change soon.

The room was small, but it was modern, clean and the staff spoke English and were friendly and able to answer questions about sights, restaurants, transportation, etc.
Location was excellent - - across from the Lviv City Hall and within easy walking distance of all of the major sites. Many restaurants and stores were within a 5 minute walk. There were a couple of small stores that sold bread, drinks and sandwich meats also.

Everyone in the 24-hour staffed reception area was great to deal with. We really appreciated the personal service, including the tips on dining and visiting Lviv. They kept our bags both on our 7am arrival and 8pm departure days. The room was bright and clean, bed was very comfortable. Our room faced the square and double windows helped to reduce the noise. Stairwell renovation was only a slight inconvenience and workers were always courteous when we needed to get by. Choosing a room is a trade-off: front rooms provide a window on the active square while back rooms are quieter. Trams were not going through the square due to construction on the line - when tram traffic resumes, the square would be noisier. This leads to the only point that could be improved: the web site should be updated with the revised tram route, or guests should be emailed current tram directions, until normal service resumes.

Despite the reno of the stairs underway in Sept 2013 when we were there, this is a nice place to stay to be right in the centre of the square in L'viv. The decor is white and IKEA style. The rooms are large and the people couldn't be more friendly or helpful.

The On The Square Guesthouse in Liv is just that "on the square" so you can't ask for a better location for a visit. Owned by a Canadian couple, the room standards are up to up to par and the rooms are large. We had a delightful conversation with Roman and his wife. He currently has 6 rooms but is expanding quickly, Only drawback is the stairway up to the second floor for this historic building. The staff will help with bags, if needed. The stairs are in urgent need of repair but Roman said that they belong to the city and he is trying to work with them to restore them. Lviv has a wonderful historic preservation program and tourist program so I hope they work quickly to resolve this issue. They look bad - but seem safe though bowed and creaking.
On the first floor of the building is a great strudel bakery cafe, and in the back off the courtyard is a quirky and fun artist cooperative. The whole vibe in Lviv is fun and up beat with lots of great restaurants.

The breakfast is not included in the room rate, although you can order breakfast by a certain time the night before, and it is delivered for an extra (very small) fee the next morning.
We dd not do this. Instead we went to Cafe Lviv very close to the hotel for breakfast almost daily.
