cheap hotel so dont expect the ritz but the rooms were spotless and fresh towels daily. Breakfast looked a bit sparse at first but was made fresh coffee and offered eggs to go with the cheese and ham and bread that was out. The staff were very friendy espcislly Laura. This was my first holiday alone for many years and glad I choose this hotel even Nico the owner made me feel like family.

We booked our trip through Croatia earlier in the year and now received a sudden cancellation of our booked and confirmed room without any explanation. This is very disappointing and we strongly advise anyone not to book at this hotel, because you might not be able to stay in it. Avoid!

Me and my colleagues were on the busiesnes trip. The company we work for has booked and paid two rooms for us. We announced that we would arrive later in the evening. They told us from the hotel that this was ok because they had a 24-hour duty. When we came they told us that only one room was available, and we would either take or leave. Since we were late we were not able to look for another hotel, so we accepted it

My stay was OK although this small hotel is a bit messy. Carpets and pieces of furniture worn out, to heavy for relatively small room. Bed was comfortable. Not all TV programmes functioning. Bathroom could definitely use refurbishing and new showers. Everything reasonably clean. Sea view, although ruined with the roof of the hotel restaurant directly in front of my window. Breakfast on a terrace only thirty meters from the sea, served by an elderly couple without any joy and enthusiasm. Big advantage is nice beach in front of the hotel, bus for the town center also in front of the hotel and good restaurant, cafe and shop nearby. Hotel also serves food, but I did not have the appetite for it. Some good wines in wine refrigerator in the restaurant, though.

I had the opportunity to visit Zadar, and I wanted to make the most of it. Specifically, I wanted to be either in the center, close to it or on the water. The Hotel Villa Nico was a great choice. I didn't know the city well, and Google Maps didn't help with regard to public transportation. In fact, there was no indicated way to get to where the hotel was located in this fashion. So, I took the old fashioned approach and walked. I was able to get a feel of how people live in this culture doing so. It seems that Zadar is still somewhat undiscovered as a vacation destination. There are none of the big chain hotels that have a presence here. Consequently, it was a very relaxed and local style visit. As I walked to the hotel, I was passed by a municipal bus (#8) that seemed to be going in the direction of the hotel! I again checked Google, but still nothing! When I arrived at the hotel, there was a bus stop within 10 meters! Sure enough, it is bus #8! The cost is 10 Croatian Kuna (HRK). They will gladly take and keep more, so give them coins or the exact amount. It's about 15 minutes to the center in this fashion, and they run every 30 minutes. I was given a room on the 4th floor, too 401. It could sleep 3 easily. It was clean, the bed was comfortable. Even better, the view was amazing. Breakfast had made to order eggs, cheeses, cereals, fruits and juices as well as coffee and teas. There was plenty of selection. I took my breakfast on a patio that overlooked the water; the restaurant was closed at the time of my stay. Everyone here was pleasant and more than helpful. I hope to be able to return, and stay here once again. Great job.
