We just came back from a week in Pula hotel and I had a very relaxing time. It was a last minute pick and I reserved it directly with the hotel reception. I was not sure about my choice due to previous reviews, however the price convinced me. I received an amazing deal for 7days that included the discount for 9 years and room's price reduction from 23th August. Hotel is basic and I agree that needs a renovation, however we had a pleasant stay as only half of the hotel rooms were used due to Covid.Pool most of the time was empty and I start calling it our private pool. Rooms are ok – sheets and towels are new, clean and made of cotton. Food a bit repetitive, dry meat but not always. Staff across all levels are friendly and very supportive.

Pros : super friendly and supportive staff, comfortable beds, clean sheets, fast internet, beautiful beach only 200 steps away, great a la carte menu ( squid for £7 – see picture) great coffee at the bar, small supermarket close by, one of the best restaurant in Pula only 3min walk from the hotel : Stari Grad, good hairdressers near hotel (ask for Milica)
Cons: interior design (carpet, pool area needs modernisation),repetitive menu

We arrived late in the day to 24 hr check in. Free parking in the lot, which had space for our vehicle. Rooms were average and had the amenities most people use. Shower head positioned sideways so hard to change angle for tall people. Bed had wooden bar in between mattresses (and had cookie crumbs from other guests).
Small patio with view of volleyball court.
Quiet hotel.

Outdated and looks like a prison, but the breakfast buffet and the staff was nice. We only stayed for the night, but the bathtub/shower was teenie tiny so it is not suited for a larger person. But they did have a hygiene guarantee, which I think maybe should be a given, but they specified it too.

The worst hotel we have been to in a long time, not counting the tunnel of terror in some theme park. All unrenovated since the time of the former Yugoslavia. We try not to step on the carpet in the room so as not to catch trichinosis. The bed for the 9-year-old girl was a sofa with irons, guaranteed back pain. Flies at the “gourmet” breakfast. Bad service, most of the staff don't even speak English. 35 minutes from the center. We had 3 nights reserved and we left after the second. Everything is unsmokable, don't go.

The location to the beach (150m) and the beach bar (100m) are great. Parking is free and the beds are OK. There is a football pitch and a volleyball court.

However... I feel sorry for the workers in this hotel. The cleaning service is trying its best. We believe that at least 125,000,000 euros are needed here. The German TÜV would probably close the hotel, especially the pool. Suitable for adventurers, the dinner with half board can be made up for in the Mexican restaurant around the corner or the Pizzeria Lema.

The hotel is under renovation, so it corresponds to that. But if you're someone like us, that you're really just sleeping here and you're out all day, that's perfectly fine. We are extremely satisfied with the food, always a large selection. The beach is a short distance away. There are quite a few steps to the beach, so I really don't recommend it to someone with a small child or a stroller. But the beach is smaller
Beautiful and around the rock, where you can also lie down. For us, a beautiful holiday with the center a short distance away, wonderful sights, shops. In front of the hotel there are volleyball courts, soccer fields, a swimming pool, a restaurant and a children's playground in the forest in front of the hotel. Possibility of renting bikes.

Although the hotel is dated, both the rooms and public areas are well kept.
The room was large and functional, the breakfast was excellent, as was the dinner included in the price.
The beds were very comfortable.
Friendly staff from the first contact and excellent prices.
Highly recommended

A mess. Bad location. Dista more than 3 km from the historic center in a Guest house quarter of town q seemed poor to me. The room is painful. Carpets from the hall of the ripped rooms and the lift hall of the ripped. The elevator is very small. The painting of the building peeling. I do not recommend it in any way.

The building doesn’t look too interesting from the outside. Everything looks a little bit dusty (the reception, the bar, the restaurant, the terrace, the pool, etc), but it can be noticed that some renovations occurred a few years ago. Even so, the rooms are quite ok, nice furniture, clean, tv, safe box and air conditioning. We paid extra in order to have a sea view and balcony. I can advise you to do the same, because it can be even duller without these elements. I should inform you that even if you face the sea, you can hardly see it after the big forest, but even so it is a nicer view than the parking area that surrounds almost all the rest of the hotel. The real problem was the lack of the fridge in the room. I don’t understand when did a fridge become something luxury for a 3* hotel? Isn’t it normal to want to have cold water and juice in the room in the summer? Anyway... They clean the room everyday, but are a little bit cheap on shower gel. We got some at the beginning of our stay and some only after 5-6 days, at the end of our stay.

The food is quite good. We paid only for breakfast and dinner, but they also offer the possibility to have all 3 meals, but they don’t have the all inclusive concept. Breakfast included everything you normally eat in the morning. For drink: coffee, tea, juice, water, cacao and milk. Dinner was diversified but not very sophisticated and every dish was tasteful. At dinner they offer you to drink only water, for the rest you pay. The hotel prices are almost as expensive as any bar from the city.

What I didn’t enjoy was the pool policy. They included a daily tax for the pool chairs. Each morning they prepared the chairs and put a towel on every chair and waited for their “victims”. If you were new and didn’t know you have to pay and used the chair, it didn’t take more than 1 minute for someone to come and ask you for money or talk to you really impolite. The atmosphere from the pool was a bit said, because most people preferred to go to the beach and those who staid by the pool crawled somewhere next to the chairs in order not to pay. It’s stupid. They should make you pay more for the room and let free access by the pool in order to cash more from the bar. Anyway.

Animation is almost inexistent. There were a boy and a girl. The girl was really nice and tried to entertain, but the boy was bored and rude. Actually, most of the personnel were bored and rude. Even some of the receptionists answered our questions like they did us a favor. From this point of view, I didn’t feel like a respected customer in this hotel, I think that they should try to improve this aspect. Don’t expect much from the evening shows. They are mostly for children. Nothing interesting happens in the evening for adults. Even the hotel disco is used by children.

The beach is close. The town center is a bit far. You have to get a bus or taxi to get to the center. The bus station is 10 minutes away from the hotel and it doesn’t go after 23:00 in the evening. The town is ok, but I didn’t feel like it has a night life. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anybody.

We stayed at the Hotel Pula as part of a volleyball program. While the hotel was perfectly located for the volleyball venue, the hotel itself wouldn't have been my first choice in accommodations if I had a choice.

The hotel is situated by a beautiful beach and has a great pool and outdoor areas. The outdoors will not overcome all of the negatives to give a positive review. In truth the hotel should rate between Poor and Average but we can't do halves.

The hotel itself is in desperate need of updating and basic maintenance. The first impression of the exterior of the hotel is that its "tired". I thought it looked like a decommissioned military hospital. The stucco was pealing and the exterior paint was varying in color. The common areas need new rugs and sprucing up (in regards to paint and possibly furniture). The rooms require much the same (paint and new linens). The TV resembled a computer monitor from the 80's. The bathrooms should be refurbished. Because the tub was a soaking tub, the walls of the tub were impossibly high. Being shorter than most, it was a hazard getting in and out of the combination tub/shower to shower. I'm not sure if the majority of their clients actually want to soak in a tub - may be more prudent to get a lower walled tub. Maintenance in regards to the HVAC is needed as some of the rooms had working air conditioning and some could not. In the four days that we stayed at the hotel, the morning showers were cold to frigid (in terms of water temperature) which shouldn't ever happen.

Owners should also invest in a wifi system that works. In all honesty, this is the one area that pushed me to the poor rating. Most hotels in the area offered free wifi. Now since I needed the ability to stay connected, I did go ahead and purchase a 7 day pass which was the same amount of money as a 5 day pass. Maybe it's not the hotels fault but the wifi provider's, but when it takes up to 45 to connect to the login page and once online the connection would either drop after 15 minutes or be so slow that you would be constantly "timed out" was it really worth the money. The fact that the service was so poor (whether it was due to the wifi provider or the hotel) made the hotel look bad.

The food was plentiful. But food choices should have varied from day to day as it was essentially the same menu for the 5 days we stayed. Please let the cooks know that they should go so heavy on the salt. Most would rather salt to taste that to eat overly salty food.

The staff at the hotel was courteous and helpful which maybe the best positive of the hotel.

Improve by updating and complete minor and major maintenance to the hotel and you'll have a winner. But until then, only if you have to ... would I say, "yes Stay at the Hotel Pula".

Hi. I overpaid 70 euros through a popular site last summer, the hotel is in poor condition, noisy, cant eat breakfast outside etc. Location is beautifull, for next June booked already a nice apartment nearby from friendly Croatians for half price.
