The rooms were very spacious and the beds were very comfortable, what we really like more was the sea view from our bedroom . The staff need to be trained how to communicate with customers and this would solve the problem of this hotel . Over all a really nice experience,I'd recommend it!

We stayed at Ariston for 6 nights while exploring Dubrovnik. First thing you need to know if you book this hotel its not directly in Dubrovnik town but there is a bus outside of the hotel or its like 15 min by taxi. Its located right by the ocean which we loved. The pool area and the location on the rocks of the ocean is great for sunny days and relaxing and you could jump from pool to the ocean. We really enjoyed our time here and its actually where we spent most of our early afternoon before going to the city. also the terrace is nice to get a coffee or afternoon snack :) Our room was very nice and all in white colors making it look quite elegant. We also had a nice terrace facing the ocean. The thing they could improve a bit is their service. The staff at reception and in the restaurants seems to be not so trained like they seemed not concentrated at times and forgot orders repeatedly so we had to wait quite long like up to an hour before dinner arrived for example several days in a row. The food was ok but rather average.

A wonderful place to stay to fully enjoy your stay in Croatia. It belongs to Imporatanne Resort. They own 5 hotel on a large scale. You can do almost everything without leaving the complex but I recommend to visit the old city and all the rest.

My wife booked this trip for my birthday, and I was a little sceptical as I did not know much about Dubrovnik. All my concerns were eased when we got to the hotel, which was situated right on the sea front with a stunning view of The Adriatic Sea. Our room had a balcony with a sea view, which was lovely to sit out in the morning and evening and take in the surroundings. The hotel itself is part of a resort complex and guests can use any of the seven pools and facilities at any of the five hotels within the resort. The resort also has its own private beaches which are dotted about the sea front. The room itself was of a good standard with plenty of space and good air conditioning, which is a must during the summer months. We were here at the end of September and it was still mid to high 20s so we needed the A/C! The breakfast was a vast selection and catered for all choices. I disagree completely with the previous reviewer who said the food was not fresh, as it was constantly replenished when it ran out. We ate at different times in the morning, and on every occasion the breakfast was delicious. My one small gripe would be that the cappuccino machine did not provide the best coffee, but I was happy to have filter instead! We had a lovely stay at Ariston and wish we could have stayed for longer, as it is a great resort and hotel. The staff were both friendly and professional and they all spoke English fluently. If you like fish and want to experience an amazing day of fine dining and relaxation you need to visit a restaurant called Bowa. A private island with the most amazing restaurant and beach; definitely a must do if you visit Dubrovnik.

Quite simply this hotel wants all the benefits of tourism money but would prefer to achieve this without the inconvenience of guests. I don't why this hotel is rated a 5 star on any travel website - it should not be. My review is not fake and my Expedia itinerary number is for this hotel stay is 7432832866056. The only escape from this hotel is the bus but the routes are limited. This is perhaps why car hire is in such demand so book ahead. A rundown of just some of the things that are wrong with the hotel. But since my reviews keep being removed as being fake here's the short version. - Arrival: stark white and uninviting lobby almost institutional. A theme which is continued via decor along corridors. - Check in: you can have wine or orange juice with wine but not water or any soft drink so guessing there’s more profit margin on the wine. Therefore if you arrive early expect to be £20+ out of pocket before you get to your room. - Check in: reception staff clearly not trained to smile or pertain to be content let alone happy. They prefer to answer the phone than deal with guests in front of their nose. - Rooms: Quite small and while room decor has recently been updated bathrooms are ~late 90-early 00s. Balconies also tired - Breakfast: Crowded and chaotic. Coffee and tea all in one corner location causing bottlenecks. It’s not relaxing at all and more like a workday rush hour experience if you go between 8.30 and 10.00. This is not a 5-star breakfast in the slightest. - Breakfast: Fruit covered in fruit flies. Fruit at bottom of bowls pretty close to rotting. Larger flies also enjoy the cheese, bread and meats. - Breakfast: Receptionist pushes out a forced hello at best but joyfully absent on Sunday’s but the result is even more chaos. - Breakfast: Even if you press no sugar button on the coffee machines you can still taste sugar. - Breakfast on Sunday - The omelette man must be at away on Sunday’s. Disappointing since this is the only fresh food on offer unless you arrive at 06.30. - Breakfast: Food not replenished so if you are not there by 7.45 latest bad luck or good luck if you like cold eggs. - Breakfast: Good luck finding a teaspoon or suitably sized spoon to eat your yoghurt post 8.30. You can’t. - Rooms: Sea view is marred by trees and ugly rooftops unless on floors 4 or above. - Pools: Crowded with uncomfortable loungers and lack of quiet or grassy areas with loungers. Alternatively, threre is the option and risk of clambering down the cliffs and using the sea. - Sky pool: Doesn’t open until 10am with no signage of opening time. The opening time of the pool is more ironic considering check out is 11am. - Sky pool: the swimming pool is full of people drinking out of glasses and bottles. And service to longers is exceptionally poor and previous glasses/cups/plates are not cleared away. We did meet with the manager and he asked that we change our Trip Advisor reviews after listening to all the above and not really disagreeing with much we said although he offered us a free stay should we ever go back. But before we had a chance to even consider if we wanted to change our reviews (we didn't) they were removed from TripAdvisor as being fake. I waited the appropriate amount of time to resubmit and then are being questioned as fake again. So I'm now cutting and pasting back in with some amendments.
