Detailed Reviews
The outside of the hotel is beautiful. It has a lovely pool and seating area. However, I was very disappointed with my interface with the staff. The young man at the reception desk was unhelpful and frankly, rude. When I tried to check in, he didn't listen to the name I gave and tried to give me someone else's key. When I politely clarified that the name he was calling me (associated with the room confirmation) was not my name, he argued with me and told me I was wrong. He wouldn't correct the mistake until another male guest stepped in to help me. This same receptionist was asked by other guests that I knew if he could provide extra towels. He refused to bring them up or hand them out at the front desk. They had to wait until another staff member took over the shift. The rooms felt outdated.

The staff on reception were all very helpful and friendly and answered any questions we had.
Our room was amazing, we had 2 balconies, one of which was actually a large patio, The room was also very large, and the bed comfy.
The swiming pool was very nice and looked good at night when it was all lit up.
Internet connection was very good all around the hotel.
The hotel is a 15 minute bus ride from the old town and costs 2 Euros each, and the bus stop is a 10 minute walk from the hotel, just catch the Number 6 bus.
There are loads of good resturants a 5 minute walk from the hotel.
Breakfast is very nice, a good choice of hot and cold options (meats, cheese, eggs, bacon, salad, cake, coffee, juice etc)
On our last day, we were leaving early, and reception were happy to arrange some breakfast to take with us.

I loved our large room here-we had a corner room that had 2 balconies. Our multiple, long windows had workable louvered shutters which allowed the breezed to come in but preserved our privacy.
Bountiful breakfasts.
The front desk staff was very helpful, researching a guide for us for a day trip to Montenegro.

We went here for a light lunch - toasted sandwiches and a drink. It took maybe 35 minutes for a poor sandwich and then another 10 for the fries to come out separately. Waitress was nice but wasn’t value for money for poor food that took ages to arrive.

Good value with a nice lobby, large and well-appointed room, and modern bathroom. The furnished balconies and front garden were great for relaxing and free Internet in the lobby was a perk. The staff was over-the-top helpful with anything we needed and more. The beach and the bus stop to Old Town are each a 5 min. walk and many restaurants and a grocery store are even closer than that. The only criticisms I have are the tiny bath towels and a barebones breakfast. I would definitely stay there again.

I stayed at the Hotel Aquarius for seven nights and could not have been happier with my accommodation. The room was large, the bed comfortable and the bathroom above average. There was a small balcony and digital TV with cable and free wifi, which further enhanced my comfort. Breakfast was included and perfectly adequate for my needs. The position of the hotel was within easy walking distance to a vast number of restaurants, a couple of supermarkets, the coast, beaches and the bus stop. Staff were welcoming and friendly.

Room Tip:Â Rooms with a balcony ensure you don't get a "closed in/looking at four walls" feeling.

We stayed here for a couple of nights whilst visiting Dubrovnik. The hotel has a strange set up. Our room wasn't in the main hotel but in separate block with a completely unrelated apartment block between us and the main hotel. Car parking is at the back of the hotel but not very well signposted. The room itself was very dated and the plumbing was in need of upgrading. We did though sleep very well. As usual the staff were very helpful and there is a lovely pool at the front of the hotel. Breakfast itself was OK with decent bread and coffee. Location was actually fairly quiet but within seconds of the main drag for local bars and restaurants. It was also very easy to walk up the road and get the bus into the old town,

This is a lovely little hotel. We had a blip when we arrived, as we were put in a tiny, inadequate room in the annexe.
After that, we were moved into a lovely, large room with a balcony which looked onto the sea.
Unfortunately, we had chosen half board and this aspect was very disappointing. There were 9 fixed menus. Each menu started with soup and finished with ice cream or tinned fruit salad. No mixing of the items on the menus was allowed.
Furthermore, you had to choose your menu at breakfast time.
We complained about the lack of choice but, seemingly, nothing could be done. In addition, the waiter took umbrage at this and was not very friendly for the rest of our stay.
The rest of the hotel staff were very good.
The wifi was fast and worked well in our room.
The area was well catered for, with lots of good restaurants and the hotel was a short walk from the sea.

I spent a week in this very good, elegant and QUIET hotel, one of the many in the Lapad residential neighborhood. First of all, it is not so easy to find it (even many locals are not familiar with its name), but for your orientation it is situated just behind the better known "Park" and "Sumratin" hotels. It is an ideally located base for active travelers who would combine beach pleasures (300 m) with sightseeing and walks. The "Aquarius" itself resembles a huge, stone villa with magnificent garden of palm trees. The rooms are of medium size, but nicely appointed and comfortable. However, do not expect any special view from the rooms. Reception staff are young, well trained and polite. Excellent breakfast is buffet style (including fresh season fruit/vegetables), and guests are allowed to have their breakfast in the garden if they want. If you decide to have dinner in this beautiful and peaceful setting, Pavle (the waiter) is able to recommend you the right meal (ask for fresh fish with grilled vegetables!). For a great pizza or Carbonara do not miss the "Scala" restaurant which is just 50 meters from here (across from Tommy supermarket). All in all, if you search for reasonably priced - at least for Dubrovnik standards - and more than decent accommodation (having nothing to do with mass tourism hotels), then the "Aquarius" will be the right choice. I would stay there again.

A really lovely small hotel set it pretty gardens. The staff were very helpful and friendly and were happy to help with any questions. Pavio served up a great breakfast and the evening meals were good.
The hotel is less than 10 minutes walk from the pretty Lapad beach and promenade so ideal for evening stroll and nice meal on the bay.
Getting to the old town is easy using the bus stop only five minutes from the hotel. We walked to the old town on the first day and takes about 45 minutes, after that we took the bus.
People in Dubrovnik are lovely so kind and friendly and Lapad felt very safe and relaxed area.
