I am a travel agent and stayed on a half board basis here for a week in June 2019. I travelled with 5 of my friends wanting a mixture of sighting seeing, relaxing and going out in the evenings. Dubrovnik hit the nail on the head was ideal for our stay. The Tirena Sunny hotel is a good 3* star. Pros • Perfect location; close enough to to Dubrovnik by bus (25 mins) or taxi ( 15 mins) but quiet enough for relaxing. Nice little selection of restaurants outside the hotel. • Lovely pool areas and pool bar, good sunlougers • Gorgeous beaches nearby • Clean Cons • The food was basic ( as expected of a 3 star) but definitely room for improvement. In our party there was 2 vegans, 2 vegetarians and 2 meat eaters. We all did find an option but the food could have been a bit tastier. However there was a variety and also a dairy free milk. • Staff weren’t overly friendly Overall, I would definitely stay here again but just on a bed & breakfast basis and would recommend if the holiday was a good price however if it was coming up too expensive I’d say push the budget a little further and maybe stay in our of the 4* sister hotels nearby.

The hotel Tirena is old and ugly. It's a concrete jungle that smells funky and moldy. The beds are really bad and the pillows even worse. But it's not all bad, the service is really good, especially the girls in the reception. It's clean, the bathrooms are updated and the ac works a treat! The pool is dated but nice and the food is ok-ish. The grounds surrounding the pool area are kept to a "we fix when time" natural, very pretty doe. The rest of the grounds are bad, you can find deserted stuff like; minigolf track, chess area, empty stores, a dosen cats... There is also a mini-market and restaurants near by, prices are high but the food is good.

When we booked our holiday with a travel company we noticed we made an error and ordered a twin room and not a double, we got no help from our agent so I contacted the hotel directly by email, I recieved a response within the hour to say they would try their best to accommodate us. On check in we were delighted to see the hotel had provided us with a large double bed. The room was out dated but was a great size with a lovely bathroom that had towels and all toiletries provided, our balcony was good but we didn't have much of a view apart from trees, I would have preferred to see the garden but this was the only fault and didn't bother us hugly. Delighted with the air con and that you could change the settings The hotel itself was extremely clean and well kept troughout. We ate breakfast in the hotel each morning and was pleasantly surprised with the amount of choice on offer. The pool was a decent size with a separate kiddy one, great swim up bar also. At the pool you could get towels, loungers and umberellas at no extra cost. The cafe offered a good choice of food also There is many shops, bars and restaurants in the complex also, great place to stock up on water and pop them in the fridge in the room. The hotel itself is a short bus or taxi ride from old town (number 6 bus stops outside the gates and is so regular), no more then 10mins. The location was perfect for exploring the old town but also being able to come back to the pool to cool off mid day. All the staff we encountered were so friendly and helpful, anything you asked was never to much for them. Also there is an ATM on site. Really could not recommend this place enough 😊

Really nice hotel. kept very clean and well maintained. The aircon and safe are free to use throughout your stay. Friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are adequate. The bed sheets and towels was changed everyday and sometimes the sheets was still damp. The pool is very nice and plenty of sun lounges available. the pool staff will put a umbrella up if needed and towels are supplied for so no need to take your own. It's quite central and only 5 min walk from the bus stop. It is cheaper to buy your bus tickets at the shop in the hotel. The Breakfast is nice, they provide for all. From a fry up to pancakes. The beach is 5 min walk away. It is a stoney beach and in the sea so I recommend you buy some beach shoes. They sell them at the local shop couple minutes from the hotel starting from 10kuna. At the beach It costs 250kuna for the day for 2 single beds which includes sheets, towel and umbrella. Or you can have a twin bed for the same price. It is quite pricy so if you decide to go to the local beach it's best to get there early to make the most of your money. It is a very nice beach and restaurant and bars are on site and they do come to you on the beach. The toilets are very clean and well maintained throughout the day just like at the pool at the hotel.
