Lovely hotel, amazing views from the pool And sun terrace. The sun terrace is large and we never had any trouble getting sunbeds no matter what time of day. Thought restaurant and bar options limited. Only outside bar was the pool bar which was quite small. Rooms are quite small but clean and comfortable. As others have mentioned we only got one bottle of water on checkin (loyalty reward from travel company). For a 5 star hotel each guest should receive complimentary water each day. We found breakfast good, lots of choice. It’s about a 10 min walk to the resort of Lapad Beach with a selection of bars and restaurants. But found food average (better in Cavtat where we stayed first). Ubers are very reliable and easily available. It was usually 55kn into the Old Town and then 45kn on the way back. For 3 of us that was about the same as getting the bus but quicker. We enjoyed our stay but if we went back to Croatia we would stay in Cavtat again rather than here…
This is not a 5 star hotel. Can’t say much more on that front. Having visited 5 main cities / towns in Croatia over two weeks their hotel star rating system reminds me of Spain pre EU. If it says 5 it means a 3/4. As others have pointed out this is quite simply a conference / business hotel. The rooms are small with inadequate storage as they are designed for short stay delegates. As a frequent business traveller this hotel is classic of a city centre Ibis or Hilton City for example. Conference delegates were there the whole five days we were there. Loud and all encompassing hundreds of Americans descended on all areas and breakfast time is nothing short of a conveyor belt of noise and chaos. The food throughout the hotel is substandard and very expensive. Again, it caters for the masses. We asked for an extra topping on a pizza and was told we can’t and when we queried why we were told ‘they are frozen!’ We had a pasta dish as a last attempt on our last day as we didn’t want to walk into Lapad, it was soo hot we couldn’t eat it. I asked if it was fresh but again the response was ‘reheated’ hence the temperature. Lapad: basically Benidorm I’m Croatia. The hotel has a great location and yes it has three pools but just know that by 9:30 am they are all full. And the pool bar in the afternoon I would say is not suitable for families or within hearing distance of children …. Especially if you have a group of Americans grabbing every available bar stool. Having gone into the centre and Stari Grad my advice is to stay clear of this hotel and opt for a much smaller hotel. There are some really nice 3/4 star that can offer a MUCH better experience. Also note there is a bus but if the conference delegates want it you won’t get on and have to wait 30 minutes and taxis vary their prices from £8-£15 cash to get to the old city. Lastly Katarina the desk excursion host was great and we booked a private tour to Montenegro for the day just to get away from the hotel and it was worth every penny and just superb. Shame we had to spend so much to get away from people but that atleast tells you how busy and chaotic the hotel can get. I can’t recommend this hotel for couples or families that want a 5 star experience. Simply because it’s not. if you do book call the hotel in advance and ask about any conferences and weddings during your stay ………
This Hotel is situated in a beautiful position with spectacular views. Our room was small even though we had booked a Superior Double and no complimentary water was provided. The mini bar had water which was charged to the room. The balcony had fabulous views. The storage space was very limited, however, the Housekeeping Staff looked after us very well and our room and bathroom were kept very clean during our stay. This is a Conference Hotel and half way through our holiday, conference delegates descended on the Hotel, completely taking over. They had been given access to ‘all areas’. This included the Pool Bar, where fully clothed people were then mixing with guests who were on holiday in swimwear!!!! This was a ridiculous situation, something we have never experienced before. Delegates should have been kept far away from the pool area. They had completely ‘booked out’ the designated Restaurant where Hotel guests had lunch every day, so we were turned away and ended up having room service, which took nearly 40 minutes to arrive. No information was given to us about this happening. Even in the evening where we had dinner, this was full also and if it had not been for the kindness of the Restaurant staff to allocate us a table, we would have had to eat elsewhere. We asked for a 2 hour extension to our check out time three days before leaving. We were told that we needed to ask on the morning of departure as this information was not on the system - really!!!! Our request was declined but we were told by a gentleman on reception that we could have the use of a Curtesy Room. We checked out and we’re told by the Head Receptionist that she did not know anything about a Curtesy Room. We had to wait in Reception for over 2 hours and found ourselves sat in the middle of what must have been over a hundred delegates negotiating deals. It was a shambles. My Husband and I have checked into 5 star Hotels and booked a late check out during check-in!!! This is certainly NOT a 5 Star Hotel.…
Whilst the hotel prides itself as a 5 star hotel in Dubrovnik this should be taken lightly. The Location is good but maybe a 4 star hotel or a high 3 star. The rooms have minimal cupboard storage, with none whatsoever draws to store your items. Weird. The televisions for every room is very outdated. So outdated that you are not able to connect your own smartphone via the wifi to the room to watch something of your own leisure i.e. YouTube or Netflix etc. The room does not provide complimentary water and every time you need to drink you need to order water to be added to your bill. During summer a 5 star hotel need to be more pragmatic and realise that guests will require water for the hot days and evenings The view of the rooms are however lovely. The rooms all face the sea and you get a lovely sunset in the evening in the balcony as mentioned above the location is lovely. The breakfast choice is limited and the freshness of the food is questionable. The hotel does not provide any entertainment in the evenings or even play music at the pool. So if you’re after a silent location this is the place for you. However after 3rd 4th evening after having visited the old town it can get boring. Our biggest disappointment was that the hotel shift manager was not able to accommodate us to have a late checkout by 2 hours. We had asked for a 2 hour later check out a day and a half in advance and each time (3times in total) all they keep saying was come in the morning next day. A bit surprising that a hotel cannot view on their systems whether a late check is possible and we had to wait until the day of check out to find out by visiting the reception in the morning. They offered a courtesy room which was already occupied by others so we had to opt for the spa to get changed as they needed our rooms. Frankly disappointing. Would I come back to this hotel? No! Would I recommend it? For 1-2 days that’s it.…
What an amazing place! Start to finish I couldn’t fault the service, the ambience and the setting Just beautiful Excellent location to totally chill out with a bus stop outside to take you to the old town in 20 mins every 20 mins-but of a walk to the main strip of lapad and sunset beach but a relatively easy one of you are mobile Hotel pools are immaculate and the whole hotel spotless-lovely facilities in and outside and the food was excellent The view from your room (647) was stunning-entirely private balcony and the sunset view is breathtaking -balcony gets the sun from around midday and then all day
My wife and I are just back from our 11 night stay at the Dubrovnik Palace Hotel, First of all we were disappointed with the size of the room and lack of storage space for clothes BUT after getting over that and seeing the beautiful views from our balcony we soon cheered up! Early morning you could see the cruise ships coming in and the sunsets were incredible 😍 The rooms are kept very clean and tidy (daily) We stayed at the hotel to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary, The hotel kindly gave us a bottle of prosecco which we had at the Maslina tavern restaurant, The staff treated us very special! The highlight for my wife and I was the pianoist in the sunset lounge, Danijel Harmet was fantastic playing all the songs my wife and I love. He made our anniversary very special by playing our 2 requested songs. We couldn't wait till he was back a few days later 🤗 To be honest the bar staff in the Sunset lounge were a bit miserable and sometimes felt like telling to cheer up! The hotel has a bus that comes to the door and takes you direct to the old town which is only 10-15 minutes away and only costs 15 kuna each way or you can walk down into Lapad which also has some great bars and restaurants with a great sea and sunset view 👌 …
Just sitting at the airport after an amazing 3 nights a Dubrovnik Palace, wished we stayed longer. Had a little issue at checkin but it was resolved quickly and staff went above and beyond to make sure are needs were met. The manager is AMAZING and Ivan at reception was a pleasure. Our room was spacious and beautiful view. To be honest all the rooms appeared to have a beautiful view. The room and through the hotel was clean, the cleaners did a wonderful job. The hotel is positioned right in front of the sea. The location is perfect, 15mins walk to lovely restaurants and bars, beautiful also at night. 15-20mins bus ride to the old town, with bus 4 straight outside the hotel, running until 1am, 15 kuna one way. We had half board, breakfast was lovely and fresh, we eat out most times but dinner was ok. The staff in the restaurant was so accommodating, nothing was too much trouble for them. Staff were welcoming throughout the hotel and always with a smile. Me and my husband felt so comfortable, definitely the best staffs we have encountered on our travels, and we travel a lot. Special thanks to Petar and Mariam or Mary (sorry can’t remember), the lady at the front at the buffet restaurant. Will definitely be coming back to hotel dubrovnik Palace. Thank you for a wonderful service and experience…
Wow, what an amazing place. Every room has a view of the sea and double room is quite spacious and oh so spotless. Was impressed from start - reservation booking, where I send numerous inquiries and they responded immediately, to seamless check-in process, the wonderful, so helpful concierge (Katarina?) service, the wait staff in the restaurants and even the pool boy that continued to clean and wipe down all lounge chairs poolside. It's a 5 star hotel without the feel of a snooty resort. I think that is in large part due to the friendly staff who can't do enough for you. The hotel sits at the end of a street which provides it with so many advantages away from the maddening crowds. However, it's just a short 10 min walk down the hill to Sunset Beach area with loads of other restaurants and bars. Also, small grocery store as well. Plus, it's the end of the Bus line and the bus stop is directly out the front of their door. A quick 10 min ride into downtown Dubrovnik. So, convenient! Loved my 5 days stay here and hope to come back again!…
Our Hotel Dubrovnik Palace Hotel stay was beyond 5 star from our check in to check out. The front desk staff was amazing, I wish I could remember the front desk managers name. He went above and beyond to make sure our party of 7 had everything we needed, It was obvious he is a fabulous leader to his front desk staff, First impressions mean so much and he definitely deserves a big shout out, The property was absolutely amazing, The views were spectacular. The indoor, outdoor pools and hot tubs were very refreshing, We also took advantage of swimming in the ocean. The included breakfast was outstanding with lots of tasty options in a very inviting atmosphere. Room service was delicious and. prompt. The bus to town is very conveniently located right in front of the hotel entrance. We loved our stay at Hotel Dubrovnik Palace. Strongly recommend…
The views of the Adriatic Sea and outer islands are stunning from every part of the hotel. Sunsets while having dinner out by the pool were simply magical. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Food and beverage offerings at breakfast, lunch, and dinner were excellent. This hotel is an easy bus ride to Old Town, yet away from the hustle and bustle. Multiple pools, beach access, and plenty of sunning areas make you want to hang around and chill. Perfect hotel stay at the end of our Smithsonian Pearls of Croatia and Slovenia 2-week tour before flying home to San Francisco.
