Maja is an amazing warm person who understands your needs more than just a business transaction. We could not stay with her as one of our members had difficulty in climbing the stairs in the villa apartment which is on the 2nd floor. Maja was so kind to offer her own bedroom but we could not do that to her. She and her son also called up couple of places to relocate us. We finally moved to a hotel. Maja was extremely generous and gave us full refund for cancellation last minute. She is a hostess in true sense. Villa Matilda has the most outstanding views and very nice accommodation. Our sincere gratitude to Maja and her son and wishing them all the best. Ragini

I cannot say enough good things about our stay here at Villa Matilda, but I'll go through a few. When we arrived on a long connecting flight from Reykjavik we were tired and in addition the airlines had lost our luggage, this was made a lot easier by Tonci who assisted our driver in reaching the property by car. He gave us the full explanation of the accomodation and a great run through of the city, it's history, and what we should get around to see while we were there - a small personal touch that almost makes you feel apart of the family. He also assisted us with communication with the airlines to get our luggage delivered once it had been located. During the stay we were always made to feel welcome. Tonci's wife Maya arrived a few days into our stay and I have never met a nicer couple of owners during ANY stay ANYWHERE!!! Nothing was too much trouble. On the occassions when I needed to speak to them I simply knocked on the door and was immediately invited in for wine, juice water etc............. OMG!!!! Checkout was super simple, they allowed us to store our luggage during the day as our pick up was later that day. Then when our driver couldn't find the accommodation (I have no idea why they had so much trouble - it's super simple to get there) Tonci was the man on the spot to make sure it happened. Maya was so generous as to even offer to take us in her personal car if the driver didn't arrive - talk about above and beyond!! I'm sure I've missed out heaps of great details, but believe me when I say you will not be disappointed when you book here, but be quick as they are nearly always fully booked. This is not a surprise at all. The location is good as it's a quick 15 min walk to the old town with no huge stairs!!!! It's close enough to be able to walk out to eat, but far enough to sit on the balcony and enjoy the peaceful view without the hustle and bustle of the crowds destroying the serenity

This was our first stop on our Croatian honeymoon and it was perfect. Just far enough out of the old town to be comfortably affordable but close enough to walk in 15minutes. There are nearby beaches and a great “rock spot” right underneath the villa. We couldn’t stop looking at the views and the rooms were very clean and cool after a hot day sightseeing. The hosts were incredibly friendly and helpful and we would definitely recommend villa Matilda for a short Dubrovnik stay.

4 night stay at Vila Matilda in September 2017 The Villa is a perfect place to stay for a short/medium term break The Hosts were both delightful and were very helpful and welcoming throughout the entire period of our stay. The Apartment has spectacular views from both terraces and it was well equipped ,very clean and tidy The Apartment is around a twenty minute walk to/ from the Old Town( less if you are young and fit) it does have external and internal steps but manageable Highly recommended

At Villa Matilda, the hosts were very welcoming. They welcomed us with snacks and drinks and they gave us some information about what we could do on our trip. The Villa itself has a brilliant few in front and everything is clean and very nice. It is a five minute walk from the bus stop and 15 to the old town which is beautiful! Additionally, the Villa is very close to a couple of lovely beaches! Dubrovnik was a brilliant place to visit and Villa Matilda was part of that!
