Enjoying a sensational seafront setting overlooking Lapad beach and the blue-green Adriatic, the all-new 4+-star Hotel Kompas Dubrovnik offers great contemporary design, a luxury spa and outstanding dining and conference facilities with exemplary service. Poised adjacent the beachfront of exquisite Lapad Bay and its famous tree-lined promenade called Uvala, Hotel Kompas Dubrovnik is under 4km from Dubrovnik’s magnificent medieval Old Town city centre. The most glorious panorama of the whole of Lapad Bay, its glistening clear waters and unspoilt beaches, greets you from vast floor-to-ceiling windows in our grand reception and Zenith Bar. As balmy night falls, our seafront Sphere Restaurant & Lounge Bar fills up and becomes gently abuzz with anticipation of Mother Nature’s spectacular sunset show. There is both an inviting jogging path and scenic walking routes along the picture-postcard peninsula adjacent to the hotel, plus tennis courts nearby.

We got to Hotel Kompas Dubrovnik earlier than expected on our first day but the very friendly and helpful staff were happy to look after our bags until our room was ready, which was a lovely touch as it allowed us to go and relax by the pool after a long day of travelling. Most mornings we would get up and reserve sun beds either by the pool or on the beach where the hotel has allocated space and then head to breakfast, where probably one of the friendliest hostesses greeted us every day and made sure we had the best time. Breakfast itself is very good, we loved the crispy bacon omelettes! BUT OUR FAVOURITE THING WAS… Happy hour on the rooftop Zenith Bar of course! Not only are the cocktails amazing and we probably tried most of them, but the views of Lapad Bay are beautiful. We stayed in a Superior Sea View room which was very spacious and clean. Our balcony also had an amazing view across the Adriatic sea and each night they left chocolate on the bed which is a nice bonus. Location wise we couldn’t fault the hotel, there were plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance and it was only a short Uber ride to get into Dubrovnik’s Old Town so a great place to go explore and then come back and relax at the hotel. In all, we would definitely recommend Hotel Kompas to anyone visiting Dubrovnik. Our friends are already looking to book for 2023 and when we come back to Croatia again no doubt we will be staying at Hotel Kompas!

We’ve stayed in Dubrovnik twice before and I regret not staying at Hotel Kompass before – it is a gem. Our standout experience came from the stunning views over the bay from our spacious room, full of natural light (I’d recommend a room on a higher floor for the best views) and from the incredible staff who couldn’t do enough for us – thank you. The location is excellent. We chose to take the bus to the Old Town, which was really simple. There are restaurants and bars in walking distance although our favourite was the hotel’s the sea-facing bar – what a sunset. The breakfast was fantastic and it was great to have the pool after a day of sightseeing. We will definitely be staying again and I have already recommended to our family.

Had a few nights here in Hotel Kompas in Dubrovnik and it was certainly a wow-factor to the start of our Croatia trip. The hotel is stunning - so spacious, open and the views are so impressive. We really liked the modern design and feel to it, as well as the service and friendliness of all the staff! Although we had much of Croatia to explore, we were sad to leave Hotel Kompas but we will 100% be back! Thank you so much for your hospitality and wonderful stay!

This was our first visit to Croatia and we managed to visit Hvar and Dubrovnik during the 8 days. We finished our last 3 nights at Hotel Kompas which is an absolute gem. Located directly opposite the beach, we booked a deluxe sea view room which had views to die for. Their breakfast was fantastic and having been in a very crowded Hvar, it was a welcome relief to be located on the Lapad peninsula away from the maddening crowds in Dubrovnik. The front-of-house staff were super friendly and knew our names by day 2, which we really appreciated. This is a must-visit hotel if you are going to Dubrovnik.

Third stay in the Kompas , first holiday post Covid and walking back into that entrance with its magnificent view was like coming home ! Totally spotless and welcoming. What can we say, staff from the second we arrived until the second we left were magnificent. It was interesting to note the number of friendly faces that are still employed here after a number of years and appear still to be smiling !! Senior management take note you have some of the best hotel staff in the industry employes make sure you keep them. Rooms spotless and left imaculate everyday, breakfast good with a variety of choices. One little word of advice, evening meals can be a hit and miss regarding the variety of dishes. Thankyou to the Kompas and its staff for a fantastic holiday, hopefully we will be back.

Don't ever make a booking at Hotel Kompas, Dubrovnik (or any of its sister hotels in the Adriatic Luxury Hotels group) - they don't honour bookings, as I now see from comments on Tripadvisor has been the experience of several other guests who booked Hotel Kompas. Indeed, the same happened to a couple who arrived at the same time as us and were told there was no room available for them at Hotel Kompas. Months ahead of our arrival, our excellent travel agent - Unforgettable Croatia - booked three deluxe rooms with seaview and balcony (their third highest category) for two nights at Hotel Kompas on our behalf. When we arrived at Hotel Kompas, the hotel recognised that we had booked three deluxe rooms but said that the hotel was overbooked (which they blamed on high summer being a very busy period!) and that they did not have three deluxe rooms available. They said that they had tried to contact our agent (but it turned out they only did so very late in the evening on the previous day, a Saturday evening!). Instead, they offered to transfer us to their sister hotel, the Dubrovnik Palace - they claimed it was an upgrade, as the Dubrovnik Palace was a 5 star hotel. I insisted that they check that there were three deluxe rooms with seaview and balcony available at the Dubrovnik Palace and that the one for the two older children was next to one of the others - the front desk manager at Hotel Kompas phoned the Dubrovnik Palace and then assured me that there were. However, on transferring to the Dubrovnik Palace, their front desk told us that they had only one deluxe room available and tried to palm us off with two other rooms in a lower category on the grounds that this was a five star hotel! Naturally we refused. Eventually, after a lot of haggling, the front desk manager at Dubrovnik Palace claimed that the best he could offer us (instead of three deluxe rooms) was one deluxe room and one executive suite on different floors of the hotel and offered to show us the suite. As we had already wasted well over an hour of our holiday, and there seemed to be no acceptable alternative, we reluctantly accepted the two proposed rooms under protest, even though it meant that our son, his wife and three children would all have to share the suite (with the three children all crowded together on a sofabed and two z beds in the sitting room), instead of the two older children having their own deluxe twin bedroom that we had booked for them. I immediately told the front desk manager at Dubrovnik Palace that, as they could only provide two rooms, we would require a full refund of the third deluxe room booked for two nights, as it was not our fault that the Hotel Kompas had overbooked and that we had been transferred to the Dubrovnik Palace against our will, regardless of whether the Palace was a 5 star hotel and regardless of whether, as he claimed, rooms at the Palace were of a higher quality than Hotel Kompas. All that he offered to do in response was to email their reservations department. After settling into our two rooms, I immediately emailed our travel agent, Unforgettable Croatia to explain what had happened. To their credit, Unforgettable Croatia apologised profusely, said that they would fully investigate and immediately confirmed that Unforgettable Croatia would refund us the cost of the third deluxe room that they had booked on our behalf for two nights - and they did so the following day - no ifs, no buts from them, unlike the Dubrovnik Palace, who never came back to us. What made things even worse is that, as many others have commented on Tripadvisor, by international standards there is no way that Dubrovnik Palace is a five star hotel - more like a four star at best. It has no character and its long dusty featureless corridors reminded us more of a prison block than a hotel. I repeat - don't book Hotel Kompas (or any other hotel in the Adriatic Luxury Hotels Group) - they won't necessarily honour your booking and you can't trust any assurances they give you.

This is a fabulous hotel really beautiful in a fabulous setting overlooking the bay in Dubrovnik, the rooms are superb and very very clean, i cannot praise the staff enough every request was met with a smile and sorted within an hour and quicker most times, nothing was too much trouble, we stayed on a bed and breakfast basis and the food was more than acceptable as a buffet breakfast, it is well worth taking a sea view room the view is stunning. (the beds are really good and we slept really well).

Great location by the sea within a short Uber ride to old town Dubrovnik. Rooms clean and comfortable, breakfasts have a wide variety to choose from Pool also lovely but not enough beds for demand especially as during our stay as there were friends of guests ( and their badly behaved children) who were not staying at the hotel but were coming to use the pool. Same situation with beds by the sea This was the only reason that rating was a 4 not 5 star

Uninterrupted view across the sea from the room, superb (710). Spotlessly clean and friendly helpful staff. Not the biggest swimming pool, so would be frustrating if you are a keen swimmer. Breakfast choice superb and the a-la carte menu in the restaurant good. Near to many restaurants. The short bus ride to Dubrovnik Old Town, a few minutes walk away and a regular service throughout the day and evening.

Our first time in Croatia and it’s one of the best places I’ve ever been! The hotel is gorgeous right along the sea front. We had a room with a view over the pool and sea which was lovely to wake up to every morning! Breakfast was good, a lot of selection with hot food and continental. The location is perfect being around many restaurants and bars. It’s also only a 10 minute Uber from Old Town so very convenient. All of the staff were very welcoming and friendly. The delivery of little chocolates every night was just the icing on the cake! We were sad to come home from such a fabulous week!
