Villa Sigurata is located right in the heart of Old Town Dubrovnik, right off the main pedestrian street (Stradun). When I arrived at the Pile Gate by taxi, the proprietor (Romana) met me and walked me to the hotel. My room was charming with exposed stone walls and a wood beamed ceiling. Romana was extremely helpful for the two nights I stayed there. She recommended a couple of amazing restaurants, told me which ATMs had the best rates, and even let me have late check-out. The hotel is extremely clean and she follows all of the Covid protocols, too. It felt like a home away from home -- I would definitely recommend staying here if you want to be in the Old Town, next to all of the sights.

Totally recommend staying here. You can see why this is rated so highly. The owner was adorable. It was like being looked after by a family member. She owns a few guest houses in the old town that she runs with her daughter. This is for the one located in Stulina. All guest houses are very conveniently located in the old town and within walking distance to all the attractions. The one I stayed in was located in a quiet side road behind the main square within the old town. Semi-full. Very clean, spacious, peaceful nights sleep, good wifi, hot shower (ensuite), fridge and kitchen area. Breakfast is not included but this did not bother me. I like to eat out. The kitchen area has tea, coffee, kettle and other appliances if you want to go to the nearby supermarket and make something. Walking distance to restaurants. Fridge in room, TV and air conditioning. Very safe. You will get a key so you are free to go as you please. Free bottle of wine. There is no lift. The owner was so sweet and came to fetch me just outside the old town on my first day as I was unsure where the hotel was. As soon as I booked she was so warm and honest. So hospitable. She gave me a map, tips, orientation and helped me with a transfer when my bus was cancelled to Split. She came to see me off to say goodbye. When I travel, I look for four things when choosing accommodation. These are good location, good service, somewhere clean and reasonably priced. This ticked all the boxes. Just to note at the time of COVID-19 as per most hotels, they cannot go into your room to clean (only between guests). This was fine. I am very tidy and clean anyway. If you do need the room to be cleaned, then let the owner know or if you need fresh towels or anything. If your looking for luxury and a sauna then stay at the Hilton outside and spend a lot more money. If your like me, who wants to explore, out most of the day and want something central, clean and nice to come back to, then choose Villa Sigurata. You will also be supporting local people and tourism. Highly recommend!

Nikolina was great! Arranged for our pick up from the airport, met us at the wall and walked us to the hotel. She gave us very good recommendations for restaurants and activities. Our room was nice, very clean and comfortable. It was easy to get anywhere within or around the wall.

We came here during the half-term break and not only have we fallen in love with Dubrovnik and the surrounding area but also with Villa Sigurata. We used the airport transport service and immediately were met with a warm welcome. When we got to Dubrovnik we were dropped at the Ploča Gate and met by Nikolina, the owner of Villa Sigurata (her husband was also our driver). She escorted us to the residence pointing out useful things to know on the short walk and also helping us with our suitcases. Nikolina knows this town inside out and was wonderful in her recommendations, especially restaurants. We went everywhere she mentioned and always with a great result. Highlights included: Taj Mahal (Bosnian cuisine), Moby Dick (fish), Mea Culpa (Italian) and Kopun (traditional). The residence itself is charming. It’s functional, impeccably clean, and cosy. The little touches were great also, eg. complimentary coffee/tea room, complimentary beach towels and sun cream. Nikolina was on hand, personally and/or via whatsapp anytime of day. However, the stand out thing about Villa Sigurata is its location!!! It was simply amazing! The whole of the Old Town was at our doorstep not to mention the phenomenal bars (especially for swimming and sunsets) - Buža and Bard Mala Buža - a 90 second walk away. Thank you to all at Villa Sigurata - we’ve had the best time!

Villa Sigurata is an amazing find. The hotel is in a wonderful location in the Old Town and the owner Nikolina and her daughter Romana couldn’t do enough to help us. Our flight arrived at 10am and after a quick shuttle bus and following the excellent directions, we had checked in and were exploring Dubrovnik by midday! The bed was very comfortable and the room had aircon which was useful. The bathroom was very small but it did the job so what more could you want? The room had a very useful fridge - the city certainly isn’t cheap and it was nice to buy a bottle of wine from the supermarket ( very reasonable) and have a chilled glass before we went out to eat and buy a more expensive glass or three! The location is fantastic, everything is within easy walking distance. We booked a taxi to take us back to the airport and Romana walked us to meet the driver outside the walls. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and can’t praise Nikolina and Romana enough. If we return to Dubrovnik we would definitely stay there again! Thank you.
